People always ask me what genre Lord Huron is. It is somewhat impossible to provide a succinct response, so I’ve begun telling them it’s Cosmic Cowboy music. The blank stares I receive in return say it all.
Well then I suppose my favorite genre is cosmic cowboy music

This album has absolutely floored me. I'm fifty years old and haven't heard an album as moving as Long Lost in at least 20 years.
It’s honestly one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. I can’t stop listening to it, it’s just perfect 👌🏻

It definitely is a great one. Though, I'm still partial to Strange Trails and Vide Noir. But Long Lost is amazing.
This song and most of Lord Huron songs remind me of my ex-husband. We divorced in 2001 but we still talked and went on dates until a couple a years ago. He came to see me and took me for my cancer treatment. When he brought me home, he put this song on and we danced to it in my living room. He told me I will always be his family and he will always take care of me.
He died 2 months ago and I really just miss knowing he is a phone call away.
We also danced to," The Night We Met" by Lord Huron.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful with us! It reminds me of me and my exhusband (separated less than a year). We're talking once a month or so, had been living in two different countries for a while as well... We both know we'll always be family and soulmates and there for each other. It just didnmt work out for lots of reasons.

I've started calling it 'spooky folk', together with other artists I listen to that have the same hard to place, slightly eerie vibe
As she gazes into the TV like a crystal ball, she connects with him in the future; the version of him that is trying to make his way back to her. Realising what a fool he was, hoping that it's not too late.
But for her, the image on the screen is in the past. She knows the whole story back to front. She even takes some of his mistakes and makes them her own with hindsight. She mouths the regret she has for not being more patient before, while he sings the same regret after realising what he'd gone and done. Separated and yet connected between dimensions.
Taking one last look at him in the museum of her heart, she lights the match and burns it to the ground.
They were meant to be, but they did it wrong.

Interesting how songs can mean whatever we want them to mean. I interpreted this video differently. I think she is the performer that the museum is dedicated to and she is singing to the fans she lost along the way. Maybe she sold out? Maybe she went to rehab? One hit wonder?
Now she's old(er) and forgotten and struggling to find relevance. Basically a country version of Grizabella the Glamour Cat.

I grew up on metal, punk, grunge, and grindcore, but truth be told? Lord Huron is to me the most complete and perfect band out there. Not a single song in their catalog that cannot convey a memory, a feeling, emotion, or a time in one's life.

I actually listen mainly to alternative rock and heavy rock, but I do visit the electronic folk genre once in a while. Lord Huron belongs to that genre, which I don't listen to too often, but I love his sound.

Hey! I know I'm just a random girl on the internet but I'd like you to know that if some people judge your music taste, it's their problem, not yours. Please don't let them make you feel shame because of something you like. There are so many genres and each of them has its fans. If those people listen to mainstream music only, it's probably either because their taste just so happens to lean towards such music (which is understandable, but to me it's mostly not so popular songs that hold the most meaning and value) or they have some other preferences in music as well that they may not be comfortable sharing. (Now, that'd be pretty ironic). Either way, don't let them and their taste decide what you should or shouldn't like.

Lord Huron I sincerely thank you for the profound affect you've had and will continue to have on hundreds of thousands of lives.

I left behind my childhood sweetheart, because I needed to travel far to get lost and finally find myself.
After 3 years without news, I was afraid that she had forgotten me.
I ended up going home, tired from the long journey I had made.
I knocked on her door and she was there, she always waited for me and today we are experiencing perfect love.
I listened to Lord Huron a lot during this trip and this song particularly touches me.
Lord Huron is musical perfection. There isn't one song of theirs that isn't brilliant.

When most bands lately sound like crap here we get music of the highest talent. I know music is subjective but I find it impossible to know who wouldn’t like this perfect band. And I just love the cosmic 60’s mixed with country vibe that mixes and turns into something magical. LH creates their own musical agenda with every album then breaks the mold and goes on to another new sound.
Well now it's all about saving minorities, sing for culture. Music lost its essence long ago when politics entered it. This band, just made us happy. They are far more deserving.
Most bands lately do not "sound like crap" Gtfo with this whiny nonsense. There's more good music out today than ever before and it's easier than ever to find it, and for free. If you can't find good music, it's literally your own fault and no one else's. Put in minimal effort.
