In the wind really be jerking by tear ducts now... it all makes me really nostalgic, and I don't know why. What am I longing for? Is it the towering trees of my home forests? Is it the crashing of the waves against the side of the ferry in the sound? Is it the slumbering giants in the mountain passes? Is it the cold still winter nights? Or the rainy spring afternoons? Is it the feeling of being lost on the eastern side? Or the feeling of being exposed in those windy valleys? Why is it in this half barren wasteland that I feel scattered- exposed and frightened? I miss my silent giants and my slumbering mountains - I miss our cold ocean breezes and the winding mountain roads - I miss the alpine air on the mountain that can be seen everywhere - I miss the cold falls and the mild summers, the rainy springs and the fridged winters I grew up with. For the life of me I don't know what it is that makes me feel this way- but I'll find out one day. Till then, I guess I just have to re-listen and figure it out. One day at a time. -Hideüm
These are strong and beautiful words, the likes of which are seldom heard in these dark and gods-forsaken times. You have a severe case of "Heimweh" as we Germans call it, which is a much deeper concept than just being homesick, it is more of a spiritual longing. There is an antagonistic concept to this, called "Fernweh", the longing for distant and unknown places. Lord Huron's music evokes both of them for me, strangely.
I just wanted to thank you for uploading this! I knew a couple of lesser known Lord Huron songs before watching, and this video actually inspired me to check out the bulk of their discography, which I absolutely loved! (and added a majority of to my playlist which I've been listening to on loop, lol 😅) If you ever do a part 2, it would be cool if you added songs like Cursed, Ghost On The Shore, She Lit A Fire, and I Will Be Back One Day!
@buckleyvermillion Yooo, that's awesome! I can only imagine how cool the album ones are gonna be! (I'll be jumping for joy at the Strange Trails and Lonesome Dreams vids, lol 😂) And I'm honestly so glad that this stumbled its way into my recommended! There's just something about Lord Huron's music that's so specifically unique that just inspires my writing/plotting/worldbuilding SOOO MUCH!!! I swear, it's pure bops and idea fuel!
I made the mistake of having world ender be my introduction 😂 afterwords i was like ok these guys are still good but wtf why do none of their other songs aound like it? Reminds me of Pink Floyd and young lust , similar situation .
@@DevelopersCult honestly i just picked and chose the ones i thought would fit for everyone and kept it to 3 songs per album lol. should i make a part 2?
