I can’t believe they mixed a rockabilly and beach sound from the 60s into this song. So fantastic and a much different sound than the standard alternative sound of the 2020s
My first experience with LH was about two years ago, one very late night when the full-album of Lonesome Dreams popped up in my queue; I thought, "This is pleasant," and nodded off -- then at the end of it, woke up, realized I'd heard every note not just in my sleep that night, but in a million other times and places I'd long forgotten and will never consciously recall, and realized that what I'd heard was musical Perfection -- almost a Final Summary of every gentre LH touches. Been way-hooked ever since. The perfect soundtrack for Life Its Ownself.
I'm a ups driver, my first peak season was last year and one day they put me in a rental. bad news , packages in the back would slide around and get all mixed up, good news I had a radio. This song was new and my local station played it right when I was driving back to the station after a horrible day. I'll always remember that the sunset hit the skyline of Pittsburgh as I was getting off ohio river boulevard as this song was playing...magical. Instantly git out of my bad mood and just melted into chill.
This song really resonates with me. I don't think most ppl get the true meaning of the lyrics. "MINE FOREVER". In this realm. And beyond. True love. Lives on. Eternally.
Wish I could say otherwise, but the creativity has fallen off a cliff these days. The music doesn't tell a story, you can't vibe to it, and it doesn't take you to a far away place like this.
If you ever wanna see my face again I wanna know If you ever get lonely Please let me know If you never wanna see my face again I'll understand If forever gets lonely Take my hand Don't laugh, you'll make me cry So long, good luck, goodbye I know we will be together In my mind you're mine forever In my mind you're mine forever If you're ever gonna leave this place Don't wait, it's time to go If you really wanna stay I'll go alone If you tell me where to meet Then I'll wait 'til I turn to bones Oh, we really should've left here long ago Nah-Nah Keep moving Nah-Nah Keep moving Love is strange You can't see without it Maybe in the grave I can do it without you What if I get lost But I'd never doubt you Don't wanna die But I can't live without you I'm much too young to die So long, my love, goodbye We will always be together In my mind you're mine forever In my mind you're mine forever In my mind you're mine forever In my mind you're mine forever In my mind you're mine forever If you ever wanna see my face again I wanna know If you never wanna see my face again I wanna know
Anybody know whether the May 2021 release is "all new stuff," like this great piece? Or "a few new" but also re-mixes and a quote-unquote Live Album? Because this Western Pines schtick is making me nervous. New album, or no?

I absolutely agree! So many Lord Huron songs have reached out to my most intense pains, validated them, soothed them, and allowed me to process. It is shocking how directly these songs have been able to reach (and teach) me.

Nothing better than having Lord Huron be the last thing I listen to before going to sleep. Their music is always so entrancing.

In my mind you’re mine forever.
I love the ambiguity of that line - is the relationship real or just a fantasy?
This is the best song I've heard in years, I can't stop listening to it and it's definitely stuck in my head right now
It’s beautiful, timeless, epic. I can’t stop either.
If you ever wanna see my face again
I wanna know
If you ever get lonely
Please let me know
If you never wanna see my face again
I'll understand
If forever gets lonely
Take my hand
Don't laugh, you'll make me cry
So long, good luck, goodbye
I know we will be together
In my mind you're mine forever
In my mind you're mine forever
If you're ever gonna leave this place
Don't wait, it's time to go
If you really wanna stay
I'll go alone
If you tell me where to meet
Then I'll wait 'til I turn to bones
Oh, we really should've left here long ago
Nah-Nah
Keep moving
Nah-Nah
Keep moving
Love is strange
You can't see without it
Maybe in the grave
I can do it without you
What if I get lost
But I'd never doubt you
Don't wanna die
But I can't live without you
I'm much too young to die
So long, my love, goodbye
We will always be together
In my mind you're mine forever
In my mind you're mine forever
In my mind you're mine forever
In my mind you're mine forever
In my mind you're mine forever
If you ever wanna see my face again
I wanna know
If you never wanna see my face again
I wanna know
