Phil "the KID" Anselmo is the greatest frontman ever period. Best stage presence, without question the most powerful voice. He's a huge metal fan 1st, legendary frontman 2nd. If you've been to any of his shows lately and have a bit a patience he does meet and greets when ever possible. He's better than ever. Call me a fan boy if you want. But I'm 41 yrs old and still call the pit my home at shows. And I don't give two fucks what you think. I grew up with PanterA, DOWN, SJR, AA, the illegals..many side bands I haven't listed Viking Crown, Christ Inversion, Necrophagia, southern isolation ft. Opal Enthroned (his ex) Kate Richardson is soo much more beautiful and much more cool. Kate helps manage housecore records. She also directed the short promo for PHA AND THE ILLEGALS record "Choosing mental illness as a virtue". Phil loves music(many genres), horror films, and is an expert in boxing. He writes for boxing insider among other atticles. Phil has had an impactful and interesting life. My life has been enriched by his effort in creating music. He helped shine a lite on the NOLA scene with bands like SOILENT GREEN, EYEHATEGOD, CROWBAR, COC, ACID BATH, OUTLAW ORDER, et. al. all the bands made it on their own, but Phil would wear their t-shirts at his shows helping their exposure. I'm rambling so "LONG LIVE THE KID"
Completely agree! Phil is the greatest front man in the illustrious history of metal. There are some great ones out there, no doubt. Ozzy, Halford, Dickinson, Hetfield, etc. But as someone else said in this thread, the combination of stage presence, ferocity, thought-provoking lyrics, and many other things is what makes Phil Anselmo the greatest of them all.
It depends sometimes this is too slow but if I’m in the right mood then I’ll go for this Pantera to me is miles better as is superjoint ritual its heavier and faster Down is good if you are into bluesy and slow doomish kinda rock I like down but you have be in the right mood

But he's correct. You can't compare Pantera and Down are two entirely different bands. You can't compare a groove metal band to a doom metal band. They each are trying to accomplish something different.
