First off, who are the 13 people who don't like this? Saw these guys last nigth and it was one of the best shows I've ever been too! They destroyed the stage, and the energy of the whole venue was amazing. You could tell they were really enjoying themselves, that they were really feeding off the energy from the crowd. They closed with bury me in smoke and I got bruised as fuck in the pit but it was worth it!

Oh hey now I get it. I've been watching this video for more than a year and I finally noticed the part where they actually trip the witches with blocks of stone to kill them. Interesting
I remember when they released this as a single. The story goes that they were touring in some country like romania or transylvania I don't recall, but they were in this village and Pepper noticed all the houses had some sort of protrusion on the roof. The locals, based on superstition referred to them as "witchtrippers" It was some kind of thing akin to a good luck talisman or something of the like to keep witches away.

"We were down in Spain, in this little village, and I noticed that every house had these stones on the corner of the roof. And everywhere I looked, there were images of witches in people's windows.
Of course, Phil and I being like we are, we started envisioning what these stones were. We figured they were probably witchtrippers - you got witches on the roof, and they trip her up when she's coming down. We had to have the correct song to match the coolness of the word. When I had the riff, I knew it was one that would be 'Witchtripper'."
This little village is Viveiro in Galicia-Spain, (Galicia Land of Witches) where the Resurrection Fest takes place, and where Dawn stayed for two weeks getting inspired.

I honestly think most of those dislikes, if not all are because of the video. I don't like it either. But it doesn't matter. I'm seeing these guys live in a couple months for the first time EVER. I just found out today. Jumped around the house like a maniac, then called my best friend...she lost her shit. And we yelled on the phone for 5 fucking minutes. I'm so excited that I'm gonna finally see them, they're not in Europe all that much so I'm just like...dying over here.

NOLA is their best album. every song on that album is fucking heavy melodic and shows the real Phil. The Phil everyone knows and loves Phil in his prime. NOLA is like Down's Sgt. Pepper's there will never be an album that'll be close to measuring up to it.

Before I saw this video, everytime I listented to this song I thought about a swamp in the south eastern United States and all the weird shit that went down in the 16th century. This video confirms I was correct. If you live in the SE of the U.S....this song makes sense to you...if you don't, then spend about 5 years down here and it will make sense.
