It's looks so sweet and delicious as a blueberry pie

Parnell I am going to gain 20 pounds if I keep eating all your pies. But I must say this blueberry pie looks amazing you said it was the most flavorful fruit pies that you’ve made in a long time because of you using the wild frozen blueberries. I like the tips you gave about placing your top crust on the wax paper for positioning it easily and you always do a great job on crimping the edges and cutting the slits on top or will have a pie explosion. I like that you dusted the top of the pie crust with sugar looks completely amazing
Hi, Jeff!
Haha thanks for your kind words. Using wild frozen blueberries was a great idea: the universe basically told me to use them. They were so full of flavor.
Putting on the top crust is the hardest part, but if you roll out the crust between two pieces of wax paper, it is easier.
And yes, cutting slits is very important.
The sugar on the top is like the icing on the cake, haha! Thanks for watching, Jeff 🥧😀

What a great looking pantry pie and to top it off with the ice cream?!? OMGoshhhhh - my family picked blueberries last week and I can’t wait to try this!
Hi, Ariel!
Ice cream was the perfect finish for this blueberry pie with frozen blueberries.
Oh, wow, I bet those blueberries are delicious. If you make this pie, I would freeze the blueberries first: otherwise, you will need to use less cornstarch, but I am not sure exactly how much less.
Have a great week, Ariel👍
Blueberry Pie look so delicious my friend

Ohhh My Man, Blueberry Pie is my very favourite pie yum yum yum :D Cheers
If blueberry pie is your favorite, then you definitely need to try this recipe! Although wild blueberries would make it extremely flavorful, regular would be fine, too. Thanks so much, Margaret! Frozen fruit is definitely a good call for pies: it is consistently better, and available all the time...you never know when you will get a craving for a blueberry pie in January, LOL
And thank you! I try to explain my recipes so that people can make them successfully. Everyone needs some pie in his or her life haha 🥧😀😄
Blueberry pie, classic! I've never had one made with wild blueberries but now I want to. Great recipe!
Blueberry pie with wild blueberries is amazingly delicious! Not too sweet, either: just full of flavor. Very hard to describe unless you try it for yourself. Since the berries were frozen, you can make this at any time of the year!
Let me know if you give it a try, TJ! I am sure it would be great on the smoker 🥧😉
Your blueberry pie looks delicious. I love fruit pies. I made a frozen blueberry cobbler. I used the wild blueberries too. I love those little berries. I like how you measure to make sure your slits are the same on top. So pretty. I love the sugar on top too. Hope you have a great night. Take care.
Thanks, Stacie! This blueberry pie with frozen blueberries was amazingly easy and delicious. Wild blueberries make anything very flavorful! And yes, even though it is a lot of "quilombo," I think it is worth taking a bit of time to cut the slits in the top of pie in a nice pattern. Thanks for watching as always!
One of my fave pies, love this version so good :)
Thank you so much! This blueberry pie with frozen berries was definitely delicious 🥧
That is interesting that the wild blueberries were cheaper than the non. You would think that would be the other way around, score! Nothing wrong with frozen fruit, it works great! The pie looks and sounds amazing! I like how you do the addition of sugar on the top of your fruit pies. You did great for your first blueberry pie! I had cherry pie last week for my cheat day, now I want blueberry!
Hi, Alicia!
Yes, definitely interesting. I was not expecting that AT ALL...but I took it as a sign from the universe to use wild blueberries in my pie, haha.
And yes, frozen fruit works great. In fact, frozen fruit is usually flash frozen when it is fully ripe, so I think it's likely the next best thing to having a blueberry patch in your yard.
This pie was absolutely outstanding. The soft filling, flaky crust, and crunchy sugar on top all worked together. And yes, I think for a first blueberry pie, it was a total success!
Let me know if you make this for your cheat day, Alicia! Thanks for watching as always!🥧
Making this Pie as we speak LOL. Just waiting for the oven to get to 350 degrees I've mixed my ingredients and waiting to get it ready to go in the oven. I'm excited! I love your recipes! So easy. I've never really made pies before and you have made this super easy for me. Thank you.☺👱
Hi, Jennifer!
Oh wow, awesome! I am so excited for you! Did you use frozen wild blueberries or regular? What kind of crust? Storebought?
And thank you so much for your kind words about my recipes! I try to make them as easy and straightforward as possible...and using ingredients that are easy to find.

Happy Pie-ing!🥧👨🍳
Hi Parnell, sorry for the delay in reply. I forgot to check the bag, However they were small little blueberries. Perhaps they were wild? Next time I grab a frozen bag I’ll take a peek. I also used a frozen tender flake piecrust. My pie did come out a little runny inside however that was my error. I did not thoroughly drain the juice from flying nor did I pat them dry. It was like I was on fast forward and just wanted to bake that pie and eat it LOL. The Good news is, after taking out that first piece and draining some of the juice I put it into the fridge, and it jelled together perfectly everything held together after that. It was a great tasting pie, Flavours were great, and I eat it with some French vanilla ice cream. Yum!
This looks delicious! I didn't know there was a difference between wild blueberries and regular blueberries. I always say that your pie crust looks so light and flaky. Another great recipe, Parnell!
Hi, Andrea!
Yes, there is a difference: wild blueberries are smaller, not quite as tart, and have a stronger "blueberry" flavor if that makes sense, LOL. I really liked them in this pie, but as I said, regular frozen blueberries would make for an excellent pie, too.
And thank you! I LOVE this pie crust. I ALWAYS make my own using my melted better and canola oil recipe. If you ever want to make a pie crust, be sure to check out that video.
Once again, thanks for watching, Andrea!🥧
So easy and delicious! Definitely great all year round, but absolutely perfect for all this hot weather! Great recipe! Subscribed!

You're welcome! Did you already get a chance to make the recipe? 👍
I made blueberry pie last week. Been practicing my lattice crust lol 💙
Oh, wow! I bet your blueberry pie was delicious.👍
Thanks for watching, Jaime!😀
The was stunning! A real feast for the eyes. I enjoyed the traditional top crust with the sprinkled sugar topping. It make my mouth water just looking at it.
I love the consistency of the filling also. All too often the berries and juice roll out of the crust once it is served. I love the hint of the juice leaving the crust but 98% remained in place upon taking the piece out of the pie plate.
It once again was picture perfect! All that was missing was a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 😉
Thanks for the kind words, Jeffrey! This blueberry pie with frozen blueberries was definitely delicious. The sprinkling of sugar on top was the "icing on the cake" haha
Yes, the filling definitely had a nice consistency: firm, but not too firm. Most berry pies are very runny, this this one was just right.
And yes, it was another great pie--and eventually it did get a scoop of vanilla ice cream, haha.
Thanks for commenting!👨🍳🥧
I have never made a pie before, but this video makes it look very easy. I might try this👍 Also, do you have any flan recipes?
Hi, Joselyn!
Making a pie is easy! Blueberry pie with frozen blueberries is super easy because there is no prep work--just thaw! If you use a storebought pie crust, it is just a matter of mixing, assembling, and then baking.
I am working on perfecting my flan recipe--you are not the first person to ask me about that. It is in the works, so it is coming!
Happy Monday, Joselyn🥧

Now that you have the recipe, you can make this and eat it! Since this recipe calls for frozen blueberries, you can make it at any time of the year 👨🍳🥧
I have made this a number of times. Though with my blueberry or even blackberry pies, vanilla is added. I also use flour to thicken. I don't normally use corn starch, but I have in the far past to see how it is.
Hi, Temo!
I usually add vanilla to my blackberry pie, but I may have to try that with blueberry--thanks for the idea!
I use cornstarch to thick my pies because my understanding is that flour will result in a cloudier filling...but I am sure it still works!
Let me know if you give my blueberry pie with frozen blueberries recipe a try.
Thanks for watching🥧
@@ParnellTheChef oh I have done the blueberry pie before similar like you did, but I usually use flour as a thickener. It does not cloud it if just using a small amount. I also use flour in apple and peach pies. I don't normally add sugar to give a top coating on pies, but I know it is something a lot of people do. I have had strawberry/rhubarb pie before someone else made that had a sugar topping. It was good. I do make strawberry/rhubarb myself, but it has been a while. I guess your videos are making me want to make some pies this weekend. hahaha! I have to watch your strawberry pie videos and those cake mix cookie videos to see what you have going on there. :)
@@temoharri8848 I will have to experiment with flour as a thickener...if just a bit doesn't cloud the juice, then awesome!
Wow, it definitely sounds like you know how to make pies...and I definitely do have a lot of other recipes, so have fun watching👍
I do have a useful comment, I think. Why not drain the berries? You can cut way down on cornstarch if you do. I tested this myself. I had frozen berries that were in a foodsaver bag, air removed. There were no ice crystals on my berries. I laid them out on a cookie sheet to defrost. Very little liquid was formed, like 1 tablespoon at the most. I experimented and used 2 T of cornstarch and 2 T white flour to thicken. All I did was place the berries in a bowl and added thickeners with a teaspoon of cinnamon, tossing gently. It worked great. This is alot less cornstarch, etc. I recommend trying this. Drain your berries first if there's lot of moisture. Only makes sense to me. I got a pie I could cut and hold its shape even before it was completely cool. Compare to this. I didn't add lemon, butter or anything but cornstarch, flour and cinnamon. This is tested. Try it. PS: I love your pie crust, Chef!! Another PS: These berries were picked at a blueberry farm, pretty good size, not wild.
Hi again, Joan!
I will definitely have to try draining the blueberries and using a bit less thickener. I've been apprehensive about draining frozen fruit because I've been afraid that I'd drain away some of the flavor. Thanks for sharing such detailed instructions on what you do--I will have to give it a try.
Once again, thanks for commenting and giving me a suggestion.
Have a great weekend ahead!🥧🥧
where's the onion soup mix??? :D
Haha I forget to get it at the grocery store 😉
💜💜💜💜
Thanks, Valerie! This blueberry pie was amazing🥧
Can I use all purpose flour instead of corn starch?
Hi!
Yes you can! The general rule is that if you are going to use flour, double the amount.
I can't remember exactly how much cornstarch I used (I think maybe 1/2 cup??? I'd have to rewatch the video), then you would use 1 cup of flour
However, in my opinion, I think that could possibly detract from the flavor of the blueberries, as well as the color (flour tends to cloud liquids more than cornstarch). You could definitely give it a try, but if you can wait until you can go to the store and buy cornstarch...in my opinion...that might be a better idea.
Let me know how your pie turns out 👍🥧
@@ParnellTheChef Thank you. I think I will wait and go to the store tomorrow. Again thank you and have a safe day.
