Hi. I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and I was 100% awake the entire time with only local anesthetic. I say this from the bottom of my heart.... root canals and tooth infections are worse. It's not a pleasant surgery but it really isn't that bad.
My wisdom teeth actually fit in my mouth so I have been told I will most likely not need them out. Getting them out is one of my biggest fears, well surgery in general is actually but that's besides the point, and I'm sorry it's something you have to go through.
your anesthesia knocks you out completely, right? Here in my country they inject the anesthesia with syringes into your mouth (the places that need to be numb) and you are conscious the whole time. Which is a little bit more terrifying in my experience (I have a long story with dentists and teeth surgery) and if I survived that, you will surpass your surgery!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻✌🏻
I literally dropped everything I was doing, and actually dropped my papers onto the floor that need to be signed, to watch this. I was so worried that I was almost shaking you are one of my most favorite youtubers and your content always makes me smile especially when it is really cool stuff from games that I play or have played. I'm so glad you aren't in a full body cast because of a gigantic accident like I feared. I hope everything goes amazing and you stay safe
I'm actually in awe that you made it until 3am the next night by convincing yourself everything was fine. I'm a little pain baby and would have gone to the dentist quickly
I'm so grateful you can approach this with such a wonderful sense of humor. I wish you the very best of luck, and I look forward to you posting more videos. Feel better!
i got them removed, but i was awake during the surgery. that hurt like hell, the metal tools screech in your ears and the amount of saliva is disgusting. At least the ceiling was interesting...
I had to get my wisdom teeth removed when I was 17. The pain from my impacted wisdom teeth was so unbearable I was on Vicodin for months, and a dental hygienist at the dentist office actually felt so sorry for me, she switched her wisdom tooth appointment for mine so I could get the surgery a month early. I'm a diabetic too, had never been put under before in my life either, and was terrified. I woke up during the second half of the surgery (lucky me) and tried to attack the surgeon beacuase I didnt know where I was. They calmed me down and was awake for the last half if my surgery. I was actually quite lucky though because they literally just...pushed my wisdom teeth out. All 4 were pushed out; no cutting involved and no pain! Wisdom teeth suck, but I had no problems the weeks after my surgery, and I'm glad I got the done when I was younger as opposed to being older. Best of luck Lex!
After ten surgery, including oral surgery (to remove eight teeth), it'll be okay. The worse part of post-oral surgery wasn't the surgery or healing. So breathe.
You're gonna be fine!! I had mine out when I was 13, best nap I've had in my life. Get lots of soft food because you're not gonna want to chew. Prayers for a speedy recovery! 💜💜💜💜💜
Loved your picture rendition lil Miss, you did the right thing, you also asked for another way out which of course they declined but it all went well. Your Alive to continue your road through life. YYYYyyyaaaaaa Use ice and take the pain meds. Bless you
Hope you have a great recovery Lex. I had four teeth pulled out last September. It wasn't fun but you will feel so much better when the gums are healed up :)
Hey Lex, this speaks to me so much.. I just had my wisdom teeth surgery last thursday. I only needed to take one out (I actually need both of my bottom ones out but I chose to do one at a time cuz the left one was literally coming out and my gum was in pain. Also praying to the gods my other one will never come out) I ignored it the first time but decided to brave up and take it out when it hurt the second time. ANYWAYS, since you're taking all four, you will be put under general anesthesia which means you will be knocked out. I unfortunately was AWAKE the whole procedure. This was the first time I had any part of my body cut open and I was crying before the procedure in the dentist's office. Dentists scare the crap out of me. LOL I cannot imagine what it is like to take all four out. One was already extremely uncomfortable and I do not want to scare you before the procedure but in a way you are luckier than I as the procedure to take it out is scary as hell AWAKE. I think i may prefer being knocked out completely LOL. Best of luck to you and your recovery. My stitches unfortunately opened again cuz my mom fell and had to go to the hospital.. (Definitely not my weekend). Just don't speak for the first two days, eat lots of ice cream and you should be better in a week :)
It's gonna be okay. I've been there girl. Trust me, it's nothing there to be afraid of. You're not gonna feel the pain, you will be surrounded by professionals. Good luck, Lex! We're with you!
I hope you feel better soon after your surgery. Wisdom teeth are awful! when I first went to the dentist to go and have them removed back in, I think, January, the dentist was like "nope, we can't take those out. it's growing under a broken tooth in the back so you're going to need to go see the orthodontist to go take care of that and then come back and we'll take care of your teeth, but here are some pain meds to take until that happens." After a few weeks of taking the pain meds and the fear of going to the orthodontist, my wisdom teeth stopped hurting and I've been putting off having my teeth getting taken care of because I honestly hate going to the dentist. I've never even needed to be put under, at least to my knowledge. After you've recovered, would you mind making a video and telling us more about how the surgery went and things like that? I know I can't put off going to the dentist forever and I've been a huge fan of yours ever since you started on RUclips, so if you make a video about this, I'd really appreciate. However, I won't force you or badger you if you don't want to and I understand the reason why.
Although I am very worried, I couldn't help but giggle at some of these animations. although it isn't your normal routine thingie things mah bopper, could you please please please do more of these. they are highly entertaining.
I feel your pain and can sympathize with you as I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was younger, but because they botched it up, one of them grew back and it was impacted! Ow, ow, ow. Hope the surgery went well and you are recovering nicely. 😷❤️
I woke up in the middle of wisdom tooth surgery feeling them stabbing my gum and I began screaming and they put me back down. Also, they didn't stitch me up
I've had mine out and when I woke up I didn't act strange or say anything weird. I believe that some surgeons give medication to bring you out that gets rid of those side effects. Good luck! Make sure to stock up on pudding and other soft foods cause your jaw and face will probably swell, making it hard to eat, and you aren't supposed to eat hard foods anyway. I'm sure you will be fine and all will be well
Hope your surgery went well. I totally kept my teeth when I had my wisdom teeth removed and still have them!! LOL. The bottom ones cames out in 3 pieces each. And I was only sedated for my surgery so I was awake for it. It did start to hurt at one point and I was getting loud about it and scared some poor little boy in the waiting room from my yelling. Good times!
Try chamomile tea ice cubes. The tea is supposed to help and cold stuff is a god sent gift after having those assbags pulled from your face. My operation went very well and I was fine after 4 days so I'm hoping you recover quickly and dont run into any problems. Get well soon you lovely lovely person
I had to go under the same procedure! my tooth kinda look similar but apparently I had a nerve going thru them and It was a really long surgery. I had some horrible days, but now I'm really thankful I did it. Good luck with your recovery Lex!!
I had two major surgerys and 12 "surgical procedures " aka they just put me under to go inside my kidney....and the two surgery I had my colon removed at my 16th birthday and another surgery for complications from the first surgery...i had an autoimmune disease called ulcerative colitis... you gave me the strength to imbrace my creepy side. If I can go through 2 major surgerys I know you can get through this
I love ya Lex but I'm curious why everyone under the age of 30 that I seem to be watching on RUclips lately who had or is going to have surgery is deathly afraid of going under or the procedure itself? Or they freak out about what medical professionals say is a rather routine or easy procedure. Or just ignore it completely thinking they are invincible that it will go away someday so forget about it! I just do t get it. Can anyone explain?
Well, I am a little loopy still as I'm writing this, so I hope it makes sense. Im not really sure age has anything to do with it, or being a RUclipsr. Probably just a coincidence! Everyone has different fears, many completely without reason. For me, since I am Diabetic, my sugar can move around while I am under. I function as my own pancreas every day, so the thought of having someone else watch after me while also trying to perform surgery is terrifying. A lot of times, and I say this from experience and stories I have heard - nothing against the medical field - they tend to really not take care of Diabetics. A lot of times, if a Diabetic is in medical care, they prefer to let them run higher, which causes organ damage and other scary things down the line, because they don't want to have to watch them for lows. Anyways, back on track. The thought of my sugar going low while under terrified me, because I will already have been out, and no symptoms would be showing unless I was tested since I would be knocked out, and a low blood sugar can kill me. That is my explanation for you for ME as an individual. When you are Diabetic, or really have anything additionally medically against you, event the simplest of things can go wrong. Its not invisibility, its just a fear. Just like some people are afraid of holes or spiders. Chances are, holes aren't going to kill you, and neither is a spider, but none the less, the fear exists. Hope that answers your question! :)
I hope it went well! Been there though, I had both my bottom teeth impacted, one was very infected and the other was starting to become infected when they took it out. I have NEVER felt pain like that in my mouth/ear/neck in my life. I had to be on antibiotics to calm down the infection before surgery and was put on more antibiotics afterwards to make sure the infection stayed away and I didn't develop a new one. Ugh, but I'm glad they are all out now! :)
Yep! Got all four of mine out and had to go under..my sister picked me up and said I was delirious. Recovery was hell..couldn't eat anything except mashed potatoes from KFC..one of the areas got infected and they had to yank it open! Then flush it out..now I'm all good but I'd never want to go through it again!!
Lex, I've never been under and I am terrified to get my wisdom teeth removed. I'm coming up soon to get them removed, and I don't want to do it. I wish you luck and that everything goes well in your surgery. P.S. I am surprised thay you were able to talk so clearly in this video from how much pain you described you were in. Also, can we get more videos like this? This was so cool.
I got all four of my wisdom teeth out at once too. I was so nervous but once they stuck the needle in I was OUT (and could hardly remember that day). Ended up having a dry socket also. Didn't know it was that, couldn't get an appointment soon enough so I suffered through the pain until it finally subsided (and finally got to see my oral surgeon where he confirmed the dry socket). One of the worst experiences I have ever been through. D:
Getting my wisdom teeth out was one of the best medical experiences of my life, and that's saying a lot for a T1D. Pain meds make your BG drop and CGM readings off, so be careful.
i only got one side of my wisdom teeth out last yr & after waking up from surgery (which felt like one min honestly... that's how quick the anesthesia knocked me out & then i was being woken up) i just started crying lol thats anesthesia for ya hopefully the surgery went well & that you heal quickly 😊
I had an infected tooth almost 2 years ago and I dealt with the (excruciating) pain from like August/September up until January of the next year. I had to have it removed and it wasn't bad at all. But then again, it wasn't a wisdom tooth. So the pain levels (I had no pain) will probably be different. But as far as being put under, you should be fine :) I've been put under and also heavily sedated and waking up from it isn't the worst thing, you may even get some funny stories to share later on lol :) hope everything goes well Lex ❤️
It's fine :D I got put under for my wisdom teeth and the falling asleep part was not necessarily nice as my neck felt on fire, it was fast. They say goodnight and ur like: still awake and next thing I remembered, I woke up in a bed with gel like consistency in my eyes and my throat hurting. I knew were I was. It's like waking up but without dreaming. Strange sensation but you shouldn't worry. I had more issues after the surgery because I have low blood pressure and didn't eat for 14 hours(the scheduled me at a wrong time or the previous patient took longer than anticipated) They gave me a yoghurt and it was all good ^_^ good luck!
@madeyewlook I feel so bad for you. This happened to me and it was the worst. My bottom teeth were impacted and I had an abscess that burst. However, I was awake while all four teeth were taken out of my mouth. I wish you a speedy recovery.
I can understand your fear entirely. I have had dentists in my mouth since I was two because I was born with no enamel on my teeth. Skip ahead and I had to get braces more times than I care to count and for my nineteenth birthday I got dentures. BUT. Wisdom teeth are no big deal. You got this. I believe in you!!! Sending well wishes to you. Keep us updated.
Honestly, fear of what I might say when I wake up is what has kept me from getting any of my wisdom teeth taken out- well, that and I don't wanna deal with the pain..Although if you can get through it then maybe I can too💚 I hope the surgery makes you feel so much better, Lex! Get well soon! 😊💕 ps- AWESOME ANIMATION LEX! so cool👍
Getting your wisdom teeth out is not that bad, really. they knock you out for four hours and you wake up thinking that an hour had gone by, but it hasn't. Then for like a week you will be bleeding, tossing out cotton swab after cotton swab, but make sure you wash out your mouth every time you eat or food will get stuck and your teeth will rot (at least that's what my surgeon said). Some people will have swollen cheeks, and some people won't. I didn't, but my older sister did.
i had a double root canal done under "conscious anaesthesia" this week! it was scarier than any of my previous bodily surgeries, for some reason. and I'll never know what i said on drugs. gasp. hope you came through this with a funny story and a new facepaint idea!
I had this done when i was 13 amd i wasnt put to sleep but I just had my tonsils, (I was scared of being put under) part of my uvula, and other dying tissues removed from my throat and it was THE WORST THING IN MY ENTIRE LIFE jk im just still in alot of pain 2 weeks later...I was allergic to a drug they gave me when I got my wisdom teeth removed and I have a phobia of vomiting (its not that bad I have gerd I vomit a lot sadly I just always cry because it hurts ) and so because I vomited when I got my wisdom teeth out I'm saying that its the worst thing ever like the pain from the surgery is irrelevant but me vomiting ruined my entire experience
You'll be fine. Going under isn't that bad. When you wake up, just breathe and look around a bit to get your bearings. Everything will come together. You won't need it, but good luck anyway!
This video is made up of approx. 250 drawings that I did last night while being unable to sleep due to thinking about my surgery today.
ilyy 💕

Well crap. Hope you have a speedy recovery!!!
Your animation is so cute!!!
Dude-
Good luck-
lmao these animations give me life
your anesthesia knocks you out completely, right?
I hope everything goes amazing and you stay safe
okay... more vids like this because this is freaking gold 😂
I'm actually in awe that you made it until 3am the next night by convincing yourself everything was fine. I'm a little pain baby and would have gone to the dentist quickly
This video was all over the place and I loved it. Hope you're doing okay after the surgery!
this is great omg i want more videos like this. also good luck and have a speedy recovery Lex! I'm right behind you with this surgery too

Wishing you a fast recovery Lex! I need to get mine removed but I'm also a T1D so idk how that's going to work

omg I know how you feel and I'm pretty sure anyone who has had their wisdom teeth taken out understands the pain RIP lex
🤣🤣love your sense of humor! Good luck, you'll be fine! 👍🏻
i only got one side of my wisdom teeth out last yr & after waking up from surgery (which felt like one min honestly... that's how quick the anesthesia knocked me out & then i was being woken up) i just started crying lol thats anesthesia for ya hopefully the surgery went well & that you heal quickly 😊
I love your videos I wish I can do makeup like you one day
I had an infected tooth almost 2 years ago and I dealt with the (excruciating) pain from like August/September up until January of the next year. I had to have it removed and it wasn't bad at all. But then again, it wasn't a wisdom tooth. So the pain levels (I had no pain) will probably be different. But as far as being put under, you should be fine :) I've been put under and also heavily sedated and waking up from it isn't the worst thing, you may even get some funny stories to share later on lol :) hope everything goes well Lex ❤️
i love you lex. i hope you feel better soon.
I CAN RELATE TO THIS SO MUCH IT HURTS
My dad is going on for surgery today
I can understand your fear entirely. I have had dentists in my mouth since I was two because I was born with no enamel on my teeth. Skip ahead and I had to get braces more times than I care to count and for my nineteenth birthday I got dentures.
BUT. Wisdom teeth are no big deal. You got this. I believe in you!!! Sending well wishes to you. Keep us updated.
I've had too many surgerys ugh
the amazing drawings and the perfect commentary = perfect video
Honestly, fear of what I might say when I wake up is what has kept me from getting any of my wisdom teeth taken out- well, that and I don't wanna deal with the pain..Although if you can get through it then maybe I can too💚 I hope the surgery makes you feel so much better, Lex! Get well soon! 😊💕
ps- AWESOME ANIMATION LEX! so cool👍
Omg lex I'm DYING I love your cute little cartoon omg XD
Best of luck for your surgery Lex!
Omg an animation 😂 This is amazing, thank you lex
Getting your wisdom teeth out is not that bad, really. they knock you out for four hours and you wake up thinking that an hour had gone by, but it hasn't.
Then for like a week you will be bleeding, tossing out cotton swab after cotton swab, but make sure you wash out your mouth every time you eat or food will get stuck and your teeth will rot (at least that's what my surgeon said). Some people will have swollen cheeks, and some people won't. I didn't, but my older sister did.
Notification squad where you at.
Love the diagrams.
I had to have all four taken out one was laying on its side being the troublemaker I'm so glad I had it done it's soo not fun being in pain
I just got told I need them out BEFORE my wedding in the fall. I'm going through all the feelings you are right now
i had a double root canal done under "conscious anaesthesia" this week! it was scarier than any of my previous bodily surgeries, for some reason. and I'll never know what i said on drugs. gasp. hope you came through this with a funny story and a new facepaint idea!
Oh my god! I'm so glad your not in pain anymore.
You'll be fine. Going under isn't that bad. When you wake up, just breathe and look around a bit to get your bearings. Everything will come together. You won't need it, but good luck anyway!
Take your time to heal and rest Lex. 💖
you got it lex don't even worry... you'll be okay
omg I love you you are amazing at painting
