Drager 550 Full face mask
I just want to say that if anyone is really interested in gas masks, people like him are really helpful in starting out. His videos helped me discover a year ago something really fascinating in history and really enjoyable
Glad to help people
You're saving lives with these videos. Thank you
Thanks glad you find them helpful.
@Spiro Spura bruh, particle filters don't filter out smells, so even the best p3/p100 will still let you smell stuff through it. Learn a bit before writing bullshit in allcaps, okay?
@Spiro Spura if you use right filter disk face.
@Spiro Spura WHO and CDC reccomend those filters, there is a vid here on YT with the expertise of australian doctor who uses full face 3m mask [i belive its 6800 model] and this kind of capsule fliters at work with coronavirus patients. Just learn how particulate filters work - those are not "military gas mask" - tou dont need it to filter out fungus, bacterias and viruses man, dont spread misinformation.
Perfect timing for these type of reviews on mask .
Yeah it's why I'm trying to get the videos out each day with all the mask requests people are asking for reviews on.
Used this mask before when i was in construction, great mask.
Cool nice to hear from people who used it for a job not just using them for occasional use etc.
@Matthew Wright With proper filters, JSP has a variety of filters available with different ratings up to ABEK, but they can easily cost more than the mask itself, you can also buy filters from other manufacturers as long as they fit, so check for locking mechanism.
Thank you for the information, it’s very helpful.
Glad to help
I have used this for work for the past year and a half had been well worth the money would highly recommend I've used it in industrial settings (used for working on industrial machinery)
Your nearly at 71k already! Well done I’ve been here since 20k lol
Cheers, yeah subs have gone crazy in the last week or two.
Just bought one myself, great mask, and great review thanks.
This is the mask I have and it's not bad at all. Very light and comfortable, good seal, and I can wear it quite low down on my face allowing for my glasses and over goggles to not be a pain. Nice one liam!
Cool
Great review and really good to hear your approval as I am about to collect mine from the post office.
Excellent.
I super chatted /donated this subject on Sunday night. Could you be kind chap and add me to your Discord? Many thanks. LMD#4676
Who's flexing this mask right now? Love the weirded out reactions you get from people, it makes me laugh the whole time, but the mask and sunglasses cover it :3
Looks formidable and weaponlike too. Nice!
I use this around town, a good mask, easy to clean but it does get a bit of condensation and prices going up, I bought one showed it to my dad and he amediately ordered 3 with spare filters for the situation and hospital and doctors visits and shopping
Yeah they're good lightweight masks.
Not bad and even cheap it's a great buy! Thanks for finding it and sharing all the info! I was looking after half face masks too. All that affordable respiratory protection is pretty out of stock now. I mean new actual products. The 3M 6002C was in stock but comes with a A2P2 rated filter only. The 3M P3R filters are soId separately. I found finally the Moldex 7002 half face mask and I added extra only P3R particle filters to it, the two cost only € 35,71. And Moldex is proper quality too. I also bought cheap polycarbonat clear safety glasses for € 2,50. I think this set will suitable enough on the street if things get worse.
I've got some snowboarding goggles that should come today so will do a quick video when those arrive testing them with some half face masks (Not the ones I've already given to friends) to see how well they fit.
I bought a few of these for friends and family a few days ago. You can twist the plastic front of the exhale valve to take off the cover and rubber for cleaning.
Cheers, I realised as soon as I finished the video there was a littler drawing on it.
Just bought one. It's a really decent mask and also comes with P3 filter 😷👍
Yeah for less than £20 very good
Thank you I was looking at these too!!
No worries they are very good
@@Weaponsandstuff93 They are! I recommended them to a friend. Thank you for the insight!
Great review!!! Thanks!
Glad it helped
JSP is a UK company, their R&D is based there and they manufacture some there as well.
I recently picked up a Honeywell p100 respirator much like this and I went to the check out line and she was like “ohh doing a project?” Just agreed and said yep messing with fiberglass resin haha
lol fair enough
Bought one today arrives in 2 days after what happened in Italy I'm not taking any chances.
Great job keep it up!!! Loving discord!
Cheers
Looks excellent, thanks for sharing and doing the review, £18 for a good coronavirus mask is great, cheers mate.
Yeah I'd say better than the 3M 6000 type masks I'd say and a lot cheaper than the real 3M ones, those are normally £30-40 minimum plus the filters cost more, think these JSP filters are two in a pack for £6-8.
I'm in the high risk group so I need something like this for when I'll venture out, So I ordered this one, so should be here tomorrow
I bought one from Screwfix, but didnt realise at the time they came in three sizes. Medium I think was a bit big for me as not always easliy getting a seal when doing the press to check, so ordered small on Amazon to try. Tool station has replacement P3 filters, for the force 8/10, priced at £7.98 (pair), which is the cheapest ive seen so far.
Dude, what size do you take? Is medium a good default choice for most masks? Is medium as good a fit for 90% of folks as claimed?
Rather than reviewing them it would be interesting to see you doing a post review video outdoors showing people’s reactions to you in the street when you’re wearing them!
Hey i just bought this model with a2p3 jsp filters . Are a2p3 jsp filters the equivalent of p3 / ffp3 protection ?
Love the reviews. I want this one. Can't find it ANYWHERE
Do you need a carbon activated filter, or does that one come with the good filters ?
Can no longer find this online, I've check both retailers from the link you provided and it seems unavailable. Others selling it for a higher price😢
Thanks, just bought.
Cool
Great mask, been using it for years grinding concrete. Not so much impressed with the face fit test witnessed in the video though and after loosening the head straps to accomadate the glasses. I wear glasses whilst grinding,i always put the arms over the strap so to keep the face fit seal. Loosening the straps=more chance of inhaling dust etc into the lungs. 3/10 for me
Always tighten your bottom straps up first so that when you tighten the top straps it seats the mask where it needs to be on your nose.
Interesting point
@@Weaponsandstuff93 yeah that was advice from a couple of manufacturers when I did their service engineer training
great video cheers
Im able to get an airtight seal with this even with a goatee so long as its trimmed back.
That's good, does often depend where the mask seals relative to the beard.
So, how do you compare or rate this against the GVS that you also reviewed?
Is the 3M 7502 with 5N11CN filters also nCov suitable?
Where do we get the filters? Do we have to change them after use sometimes?
How often would you say you need to replace the filters for covid? 6 mnths?
How long do the filters last??
Got this and the full face version with the p3 filters, seem to ve pretty good.
Excellent
Between JSP Force 8 and 3M 6200 what would you choose? Thanks!
The exhalation valve clear plastic cover twists of for cleaning/disinfecting.
bought 6 of these for my family last week
Good choice.
Great video 👌🏻
Cheers
I can't get the hang of the press to check. I have low lung output and when I breathe in the rubber bit of mask never moves. Also. I can't figure out why there's a small gap in the rubber near the chin..
what are your thoughts on that full face respirator from aliexpress you showed a couple times in your videos? any issues with reliability/sturdiness?
Never had any issues with it really. At least not ones that would make me really question it unlike the Puda one.
Thank you for your review, Sir. As viruses can measures up to 0.1 micron; can the filter also prevent the virus organism from coming into? Thank you for your attention
The virus clings to spittle etc, so the filter blocks the item carrying the virus.
@Weaponsandstuff93 - Thanks. I thought FFP3 was the same as N99 i.e.not100%? As for COVID-19, I don't know. The JSP "ABEK1 P3" filters, which used to be about £24 a pair, filter "mists" - is that true of the JSP "P3 R D" you have there? I have a Force 8 and a Force 10 full-face and one pair of "ABEK1 P3"! But the Force 10 obscures peripheral vision, and JSP say only wear the Force 10 for an hour at a time.
What kind of goggles you would buy with a mask like these?
Great vid! In what context should I be wearing this if i'm already avoiding crowded areas, sanitising, and shopping at quiet places?
Up to you really, depends when you think it's bad enough that you won't mind weird looks and comments. Only you can really make that decision.
Close contact. Shops. GP surgeries. Anywhere you find idiots near you without face coverings
Covid is airborne, so any indoor setting that’s not your home.
What are your thoughts on Dräger xplore 6300 panoramic view , is it suitable for nCov with A2B2E2K2 Hg P3 filter on ?
Drager generally makes good masks, make sure you only bother with the 40mm versions preferably. You only need a P3 filter really not all the ABEK stuff, it will cost more and weigh it down.
How long do the filters last?
How many hours do the P3 filter typically last in these masks? Do you have any links for an alternative filter that would fit that are affordable?
It last 6 months or more
@@CLBVLOGS no way, they last like a month
Depends what environment you are in and intensity of the hazard but usually about 1 week
Is this better than the 6000 series 3M half facepiece or is it the about the same quality? Also is Organic Vapor filter with N95 particulate filter at least effective against airborne contaminants like the coronavirus?
Getting really paranoid about the virus lol
I'd say it's better IMO.
i bought 2 jsp force 8 ,,, and 2 gvs blue masks as i use them at work cleaning /shopping
Where did you buy them ?
got a 3m and one of these coming as both me and mum work in hospitals
oh keep the plastic bit, it will make things easier when replacing filters
Hey weapons, if you wear the pbf gas mask. Do you have any difficulties breathing?
Well already answered you, without the filters, easy to breath but no protection. With the filters, easy enough to breath but old Soviet filters...
@@Weaponsandstuff93 Oh okay, thank you. I didn't see the response but thanks anyways for taking the time to look through your comments!
What's better this or the force 10?
Hey, what filters do you think would also work with tear gas , obviously in conjunction with goggles ?
P3/P100 filters as they block the CS particles
How long can we use the filters?
That's nice dude
Cheers
@@Weaponsandstuff93 cheers mate!
Does the mask come with the P3/P100 filters or do you have to buy it separately?
it comes with the filter already attached
Quick question mate: How frequent do you need to change the filter (for how long do the filters last just breating outside to protect oneself from covid-19?) cheers in advance.
MTG MOX with general use they need to be changed roughly once a month, although if the mask was in direct contact with any infected droplets, it would instantly need to be cleaned and the filters changed.
@@hello1236096 so how can i know if it is infected or not? so ı should change them every day ??
Amazing Mask. I paid £165 on EBay for my one . I found I couldn’t get them anywhere. I paid I high price but then my health is more important
got one for half that price, won't be making the same mistake again, when they get back in stock i will be buying another as a back up.
James Traynor It was a expensive mistake, however my health and my family’s more are important to me
Yea defo. Even getting ripped off. Health doesn't have a price on it.
How many hours/days do these filters protect for? Thanks🤔
Prob months at least. Now if there is no pollution maybe years.
Do you store your gas masks with the plastic/foam insert inside?
Not normally.
No fogging or misting of glasses did you notice?
Great vid! How do you sterilise the mask or the surface of the filters? Would 1:49 bleach solution work?
Use 70% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 thanks for the reply! I'm from HK and alcohol is really hard to come by these days. Do u think diluted bleach would damage the mask?
@@happy842655 use a really strong alcoholic beverage
How often would you recommend in changing the filters?
Every few months if you get dust in it, otherwise never
That press to check function is very good isn't it.
Yeah and they say on the side how to do it, so it makes pressure checking easy rather than someone knowing how to block the valves etc.
How did you get your face looking so chiselled?
I bought one of this for hospital use, I haven't been in extreme polluted environments with it and the other day I noticed the smell around me. Does it mean my filters are faulty?
You need ABEK1P2 buy separate filters for this mask, have used them for paint spray and wood smoke, chemical no smell what so ever. good luck finding them though.
The filters only take out Particulates on this one, the ABEK ones should filter out gasses and smells.
What would you say is superior? The JSP Force 8 Half Mask or the Moldex 7000 half mask? I have access to both.
Never used a Moldex but a lot of people like them, due to the JSP being £18 here I have to recommend it as I've never seen a half face mask as good as it for less than £30 before
Are JSP P3 presstocheck filters compatible with 3M filters?
No as I said in the video the JSP filters are 4 lugs not 3
How comfortable are they around your nose especially. Am a nurse and we are getting these on our ward and potentially could be wearing them for hours. Thank you.
I bought mine today, although i couldn't find the P3 filters so i had to get by with P2 for now. My experience is still fresh and lacking, but any info is good i guess.
It fits nicely (i got M size, male, 27 years with egg shaped head, average straight nose), after ~30 minutes of testing i can say that they are not causing any kind of excessive pressure around the nose.
On the other hand, the filters are somewhat hard to place into the filter holes - the amount of pressure you need to apply to the filter so the foam on it compresses and gets close enough to the red ring needs to be above normal and i had a feeling i was about to break the mask. Finally after an hour they managed to click. And when they click there are no gaps, it works like it should.
Try to find them with these P3 filters (as a nurse you're going to need them more than me for sure) so you can save yourself some time and keep your sanity, since these look like a lot easier to snap into the filter holes.
Just bought one of these for a spice mixing plant, if this is as good as everyone says it is, my lungs will thank me !
just a quick sort of question. So I already have a proper half gas mask and all of that. Is it worth it to even buy a full face or should I just stick with the half and use that money on other supplies?
Nah just get some cheap goggles and use the money for food etc
@@Weaponsandstuff93 oh nice thanks man I appreciate it
If you went somewhere crowded would you take a gas mask with you ? Just in a bag it doesn’t have to be on
Yes I'd take it in a little satchel and put it on when on a bus etc.
very good half face mask!
Indeed
Is this protective for people who have beard ?
Only soviet ShM Hood masks work with facial hair.
Wondering if there is anywhere I can get a small size in this mask
No idea I imagine most stores stock more medium
waiting for mine to come, just wondering how hard wearing are these masks would one with new filters now and again last for say 6 months if this drags on using now and again
Particle filters last basically forever unless you are getting lots of dust in them constantly.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 ye was wondering how the actual masks themselves bear up will they last a bit
What can you use to disinfect the surface?
Hydrogen peroxide, 3% solution. Regular soap and water also destroys coronavirus, so it's no problem at all.
How much can it filter?
Can you attach a cpap tube
Does a half mask need a different filter?
Not different in terms of P3/P100 etc, different as in brands use proprietary fittings.
How long can I use the filter? And how to buy a new p3 filter Jst suited for this mask? Or would any p3 filter fit to it.
Sadly has to be the branded P3 filters for this mask, they'll last months of normal use though. A lot less time if you are constantly sanding etc.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 I see.. Thank you
I have this filter, JSP FORCE 8 MDF FILTERS AB1-P2 - will this protect me from COVID-18
It won't protect you from covid-18 as it doesn't exist
I like using this mask on my classic car, what with all the lead paint and asbestos in it.
Good idea
Can't even get it on Canadian Amazon, big sad
What size mask did you buy?
Oh, medium. You did tell us, I was just impatient. 😋
I have medium. I read that large was for "special applications" but I can't find it now. Please check yourself.
I still prefer millsurp masks... especialy the MP5 Polish, or S10 copies etc... they are more protective for less money (a polish MP5 is literally only ½ of a semi decent galf face mask)
3M 6000 and 7000 better ?
What level of protection can this offer you in other emergency situations such as a chemical or nuclear attack? Also how often do the filters need replacement please. Can you do a guide for stand alone goggles too please, thanks!
For chemicals you'd need ABEK filters, for nuclear risks the mask will protect from fallout inhalation but won't protect you from external ionisation
Did a video the other day on goggles also I have a video on how long filters last
@@Weaponsandstuff93 I'll look for the vids you mention, thx for the help!
How do these work do you just wear the mask and that's it how do you activate the filters and how long would they last for
You just wear the mask and particles get stuck in the filter rather than getting into your lungs. They last for months, these filters have a 10 year advised expiry on them.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 so would it be advisable to buy a couple of these for a family of 4 and where can you buy need to start prepping dont know how long we have til mass confirmed cases hit
I have the same mask got mine from trevis purkings I got it because it looks futuristic
Cool
