I think any Shawol would tell you Taemin is amazing, but Taemin with SHINee is just magic. The other members are just as amazing and you are not wrong when you said that they work really great together as a team. That is why they are approaching their 14th year from when they debuted as a 5 member team. They've been together even longer, and see each other as a family. There are lots of stories to tell about how much they have done for each other. They regard each other as brothers to one another. I hope you can check them out whether here or in your own time because they are wonderful stage performers and singers. They form the most distinct voices in kpop that blend so well together. In time you will recognize each of their voice individually because they are so different, but as a group can harmonize with perfection. Anyways, hope you see their 14 years of korean and Japanese work because passing on such a veteran and solid group is an absolute lost.
I love everything about this MV, the song, styling, dancing, visuals, everything! I can’t listen to this song without moving to the beat and singing “Don’t call me.” I love SHINee.❤️
Taeminnie was playing the piano piece during this! If you watch the music show performances, they cut away to show him playing. All five members of SHINee are incredibly strong soloists, but they’re also the best at blending together to create magic. I think of SHINee as a five-color spectrum (vocally and performance-wise) passing through the diamond prism that is SHINee to create one blindingly strong, pure light/sound. It’s truly magical how beautifully they blend each distinctive, strong voice into one harmonious sound. None of the members outshine another-they make each other stronger.
Please check out other members solos too Key’s Hate that & Bad Love, Minho’s Heartbreak, Jonghyun’s Crazy (Guilty Pleasure). Onew’s Blue also has a lot of symbolism but might be better if you knew the back story but may be interesting to go in blinded and see what you think it means. And more more more Taemin cause his music, lyrics, choreo, visuals, mvs/artistry and symbolisms are just insanely good For more SHINee, maybe Married to the music, Tell me what to do, View, Everybody, Dream Girl and Get the Treasure I play this song quite often still since it’s release over a year ago, so good…and the visuals, choreo etc so so good. As always I like how you interpret things Yes that’s why they’re the complete package. 5 great successful solo artists who can shine bright on their own with very different colors and together as one they shine brightest/blend well together.
Atlantis, Everybody, and Married to the Music! SHINee came back after 3 members military enlistment and killed it 👏 Waiting for 2023 Taemin's enlistment is supposed to end November 30th👑
SHINee has a special place in my heart. The ONLY boy group I stanned back in my 2nd gen days, and the ONLY group I stanned since I discovered kpop in 2010 that is still active (damn the girl group curse 😂). Edit: Also technically first ever kpop group I listened to! A friend showed me 'Hello'..I didn't like it 🤣 I know you generally react to more recent releases, but I'd love for you to react to a song with all 5 members. Jonghyun is an amazingly talented one-of-a-kind person who unfortunately passed away in 2017. I'd hate for you to miss out seeing how special he is. I know you said you found it difficult to imagine Taemin and Onew being in a group. That's because they're industry veterans. They've been in the biz for 14 years now and know exactly who they are as artists. All 5 have great solos (although I wish Minho had more than 2 fricken songs).Seeing how they've grown as artists and people since they debuted in 2008 has been amazing (they were literal children back then...Taemin was 14!) Please react again!
With "Don't Call Me," SHINee (pronounced Shiny -- as in shiny diamonds or shiny stars -- their name has a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine) are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee where designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. You just discovered why SHINee still hold one of the top spots after almost 14 years in the industry. If you are impressed now, just wait until you go through their entire discography of songs and MVs. So far, they have 13 full-length albums (7 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), several repackaged albums, a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTS, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. And it only gets more and more impressive as you follow them through their career. They have accomplished a lot in the past 13+ years and they are one of the groups that made Kpop what it is today. However, if you want to see where SHINee truly shines, you have to see their live performances. SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and, yet, they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than many members of groups who came after them, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. When SHINee debuted in 2008, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew turned 32 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one with the hoodie -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc. Key -- the one with the feather headpiece -- is our fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment, so Key is recognized for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He has a reputation for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. Minho -- the one with the red hair -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. And as you know, Taemin -- the one with the blond highlights -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry (one of the top 2 best dancers of all dancers in Kpop), and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV -- because he passed away 4 years ago -- in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. Most fans (SHINee World or Shawol for short) will tell you we know who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with our eyes closed, with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop". SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You should also check out SHINee's live performance stage for "Don't Call Me," ruclips.net/video/N3103Su_-cM/видео.html. (If you like the piano in this song, just wait until you see their live performance. The piano becomes even more noteworthy in the live. I won't spoil it, you will just have to watch it to see what I mean. :D)
Wow you really worked hard on this! 🥰 Two corrections from a fellow long time Shawol though: 1) SHINee is spelled with a double ee for a very specific reason: It's because in their understanding of the name, they don't shine, but they receive light. The -ee is to signify a recipient status. Like employer and employee. The ones who shine are Shawols, and SHINee receives that light and derives strength from it. That's the actual explanation, as far as I am aware. 2) This one is a very common mistake among native English speakers, even many Shawols, so you're not alone in this: Onew isn't pronounced "Oh-New" but more like "On You". You know the English terms "On" and "You". The Korean language doesn't know the "Oh" sound in the way the English language uses it. I admit it gets confusing, especially when he starts making puns with it like "Oh! NEW ALBUM!" or something, but that is just purely based on the English spelling of the name. The Korean spelling indicated "On You" and that's also how he pronounces it and how the rest of SHINee pronounces it. I think at some point someone started explaining "Onew" as "Oh-New" and it just stuck with most people. But it still triggers me a little because it's not even difficult to pronounces for English speakers at all, if someone just started explaining it correctly haha. But that's a me problem. Hope you have a nice day!!!
@@oOPrettywinxOo Actually, I don't think I am wrong with the pronunciation of Onew's name. You are right, if you pronounce it with a Korean accent it would be On-new, but in English it is actually pronounced Oh-new. There is an actual difference. It's similar to the way Korean's pronounce some English words using a Konglish accent vs. how the word is pronounced in English. I think both pronunciations are correct. Thanks for the explanation. I have probably been a Shawol for as long as you or longer, so there isn't much I don't know about SHINee. (A Shawol since day one and a Kpop fan since 2006.) I'm pretty well versed. So it's nice to find people who are of like minds.
@@milindawilson9175 hm, if you want to interpret it that way you can feel free to, but I think with names there can always only be one correct pronunciation. One intended pronunciation. For example, my real name is a mixture of English and French. But neither of those languages is my mother tongue. So the pronunciation of my name in my language is different from how English people pronounce it and how French people pronounce it. Now you could make the same argument and say that both of those pronunciations are correct too, because they are correct in their respective languages. But my parents didn't intend for me to be called the name in the English or French way. So they're not correct as far as I am concerned (but I don't point it out to people when they do use them, because I don't particularly mind). But with names, it's not the same as with terms for items etc. There is always the pronunciation as the name-giver intended it and as far as I am concerned that is the right pronunciation. Now you can make the argument Onew isn't even his real name and I give you that xD. But I still feel like the name he hears from everyone around him all the time is his name. Oh-New is just the way English speakers like to pronounce it. But that's just my opinion.
@@oOPrettywinxOo Not necessarily. For instance, the way a name is spelled and pronounced changes depending on the culture. A good example of this would be in English we pronounce Henry with an emphasis on the R. However, in Korean they pronounce it Henly, changing the R sound to L. And that's not because they don't know how to say it, it's a linguistic chose to align more closely with the Korean pronunciation of words, making it easier for a Korean person to say. Another example would be, if you look at the genealogy of most family history, there will probably be multiple spellings and pronunciations of the same surname throughout history because it depends on how the culture and person at the time decided to spell and/or pronounce the name. For instance in English there are many words that are taken from other languages, but they are not pronounced the same way they would be pronounced in the original language because we have chosen to pronounce it differently. It doesn't make the pronunciation wrong it just means it's a different cultural interpretation and use. But I think we are pretty much saying the same thing here. I think we understand each other, we just choose to use different interpretations. I see nothing wrong with pronouncing it Oh-new, and you feel you should use the "proper" pronunciation. I'm not overly concerned because I don't think Onew is offend either way. :D
@@oOPrettywinxOo Oh I also intended to say this before, but forgot to mention it. Yes, I know that SHINee means "to receive light". I didn't say anything about what their name meant. I was just saying, a way to remember how to spell and say there name is with a double ee because they are stars that shine so bright they need an extra letter to show how brilliant they shine(e). I never said anything about what their name means. But you are correct, SM decided to spell SHINee with a double ee to depict how they are a group that is meant to receive light from us SHINee World(s).
SHINEE debuted in 2008. Shinee is considered "The Princes of K-pop" for their perfect harmonies, classy dance moves, and trend-setting fashion. The group is composed of four members: Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Originally a five-piece group, main vocalist Jonghyun passed away suddenly in December 2017. Some songs/MV's to listen to -- older list: 1 - Ring Ding Dong 2 - Lucifer 3 - Shinee Girl 4 - Sherlock NEWER: 5 - Don't Call Me 6 - Atlantis 7 - C.O.D.E. 8 - Heart Attack 9 - Marry Me They each have solo releases to, of which Taemin is the most prolific and is considered the "MJ" of K-pop. Just watching him perform is proof. He also did a mesmerizing dance collaboration with Jimin of BTS at an awards show; you can see it on RUclips. Songs/MV's: 1 - Advice (1of the best song/MV's of his 2 - Criminal 3 - Idea Min-ho: 1 - HeartBreak 2 - I'm Home Onew: 1 - Blue 2 - Dice 3 - Nessun Dorma (opera shows how powerful his voice is) Key: 1- Bad Love 2 - Hate That.... 3 - Forever Yours
We Shawols don't see SHINee as a 4 member group nor do they SHINee was, is and always will be a 5 member group Onew said this a few days ago when talking about how difficult it was to dance and sing Dice alone compared to doing it with the 5 members. And you put the 4 members solo works, but you don't put Jonghyun solo which is so sad. I don't want to be mean but is very sad see people referring to them as 4 when we both SHINee and Shawol see them as 5 Jonghyun 1. Crazy 2. She is 3. Shinin
Thank you so much for reacting to these guys....SHINEE is my ultimate group...nd ALL 5 MEMBERS ARE REAL TALENT....next plzz react to "MARRIED TO THE MUSIC" MV that will be fun seeing you decoding that mv...i don't think I have seen anyone who had guess thev 100% correct...Let's try 🙏
Thank you so much for reacting to them!! Their MV's with interesting storylines/concepts which I think would be interesting for a review (the songs are great too): SHINee - Tell Me What To Do, Married to the music Key - Bad Love, Hate That (feat. Taeyeon) Minho - Heartbreak Jonghyun - Crazy, She Is Onew - Blue They all are also amazing soloists, they hold solo concerts as well and their music is different from each other/SHINee as a group
This is the song that made me stan and love them and ultimately fall head over heels with Taemin. The only group that successfully make me obsessed after 10 years other than BigBang and SNSD since 2010. Dont Call Me was my favourite comeback for last year and my own Song Of The Year for 2021.
This song was my intro to Shinee and they are beyond amazing together and soloists. The video is so visually beautiful. But - wow, as usual your reaction and analysis are amazing. Holy sh*t that was wonderful. I'm just shaking my head in awe.
SHINee is the only kgroup I stan. Not because of their music but also their genuine personalities. I enjoy watching and listening to their music. This comeback is the most satisfying moment to me and I am so happy I discovered them during the trying time (pandemic era). Thanks to them and to you for giving this kind of reaction to their work for me to look forward to.
you can check out for more SHINee! they are actually a 5-membered contemporary group and each of them has distinct vocals and style but they are musically beautiful together. you won't regret
What I love about SHINee is all of them have their own character individually, but match perfectly and create unmatchable energy when they are together
Shinee is absolute powerhouse of 5 immensely talented artists with legacy so versatile and beyond standard kpop genre that they are now category of their own. Their live performances are unmatched in energy and quality, they are absolute royals on stage. You may check their latest hits for 15 years anniversary tour like Hard, Juice, 10X, and iconic Sweet Misery dedicated to passed member Jonghyun ❤❤❤❤
If you notice, the one in the red outfit (Key) is stepping on the submerged yellow phone booth in the water. Even more emphasizing about cutting all connection.
Thank you for reacting to SHINee! I enjoyed your analysis a lot, it was great. I hope you will react to more of their music. Married To The Music is a MV that you might really enjoy analysing.
Enjoyed your reaction and comments. It’s great that you take the time to analyse what’s going on. I think by just watching the MVs without pausing or rewinding, a lot gets missed. Supporting SHINee always. Looking forward to more SHINee as a group and as solo artists reactions. Key’s Bad Love is so good.
the best reaction and analysis till now for SHINee 'Don't Call Me' . Looking forward for more reaction to SHINee and all 5 members , esp Taemin ( for me 😊 )
You know I didn’t think I could love this comeback any more than I already did (still obsessed after all these months and I constantly wish I could see it again for the first time lol) but somehow you managed it. Thank you for appreciating SHINee’s artistry that so often gets overlooked, or at least isn’t commented on frequently. I really enjoyed your attention to the details, some of which I came to the same conclusion about and some of which hadn’t even crossed my mind despite the number of times I’ve watched it! Probably the best (non-dance/vocals-centric) reaction I’ve seen.
I love that you've checked out Shinee. They're one of the legendary kpop groups. I'd be happy to see you reacting to more of their songs. Also, I'd like to recommend you "be" by Eunhyuk. I think you might enjoy analyzing it.
Because Taemin is also a member of SuperM, I think SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV and Fake Reality teaser is SM's way of drawing SHINee into the SM Universe and fully connecting SHINee to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Hence, Minho's red hair and the red room with the chairs hanging from the ceiling. I think this might be connected in someway to the Red Force and EXO's/SuperM's storyline. As with everything that SM does, it's been designed to all connect. All of SM's groups' concepts and MV storylines connect together and it's all part of one giant Universe and story that started in 2012 with EXO's debut. To understand how all of SM's groups are connected, you first need to keep in mind that it all began with EXO's origin story. As I think you know, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from Planet Exo who have been sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are believed to be caused by the Red Force. The Red Force is thought to be here on Earth inflicting their evil agenda -- corrupting humanity and causing all the bad things that are happening in the world, such as war, hate and destruction of the environment, etc. And because EXO is trying to undo and prevent the Red Force from accomplishing their goals, the Red Force is also trying to take down EXO by capturing them, corrupting them and standing in their way, etc. And SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup which debuted in October 2019 and their concept and storyline is centered around the fact that they are Avengers-like superheros, so SuperM is the group that pretty much connects everything together. As part of EXO's story, Baekhyun and Kai -- who are members of EXO -- have recruited members from SM's other male Kpop groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT and Ten and Lucas from WayV -- and formed SuperM, to help them battle the Red Force. So, because of this, all of SM's groups have storylines that connect. I see connections between EXO, SuperM, aespa and SHINee with the fact that we see SuperM riding on a subway train in their "100" MV and we see aespa in the subway in their debut "Black Mamba" MV, and now we see SHINee also in a train station in "Don't Call Me." And most recently, we saw Baekhyun from EXO/SuperM on an old train in his most recent solo "Bambi" MV. We even see Kai from EXO/SuperM on train tracks and people on a subway train platform in his "Film: Kai" solo debut teaser video during his "Amnesia" section of the video and as it transitions to "Mmmh." We also see Key from SHINee in a subway train in his solo debut "One of Those Nights" MV in 2018. And if we go back even further, you see EXO on train tracks in their "Love Me Right" MV and EXO-CBX (which Baekhyun is also a member of) on train tracks in their "Horololo" MV, etc. Which I think is all connected in someway. The train station/subway platform in "Don't Call Me" also is given a very futuristic EXO-like feel with the view of space and the planets in the sky when you see SHINee dancing on the train platform. I also think that the scene with Key in the red outfit standing on the phone booth submerged in water has something to do with the Red Force as well. In that scene we also see Key dressed in his black outfit with the feather headpiece standing in front of the image of himself, which looks as though this could be showing Key in alternate realities -- or a "fake reality." (And now that Key has released his solo "Hate That ... " MV, I think that scene with Taeyeon from Girls' Generation, standing on the rock in the middle of the ocean in "Hate That ..." is connected to that scene in "Don't Call Me" as well.) Then it looks as though the SHINee members go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all posing in their black outfits. This looks very similar to the scene in SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of "Jopping." The members of SuperM are supposed to be coming together to help EXO fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from taking over the world, etc. As "The Avengers," SuperM is taking members from each of SM's groups and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. So, if you follow EXO's storyline, in EXO's "Obsession" MV we learn that the good guys are the members in the all black outfits, and in "Jopping" we see SuperM's "Avengers uniform" is similar all black outfits. So in the scene in "Don't Call Me," when we see SHINee all together in those black outfits, it looks as though they might be preparing to join in the fight. And because of this, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines -- and probably even now their 4th gen. groups with the introduction of aespa in 2020 -- are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connections between the groups. And that includes SuperM, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. That is why I think that even though SHINee are part of the second generation, that SM is now working on bringing them into the storyline. And although most of SM's older groups' concepts and MVs may have never been originally designed to have any type of connection to anything to do with anything, that doesn't necessarily mean that over the years as EXO's story has evolved or SM's Universe concept was being created, that SM didn't find "happy coincidences" within those MVs that allowed them to use them as a way to connect things together. For example, some have pointed to the fact that NingNing's butterfly in aespa's concept from 2020 could be connected to the butterfly in EXO's debut "Mama" MV from 2012, as well as the butterfly in NCT-127's recent "Favorite (Vampire)" MV from 2021, and some have made compelling arguments that it could even be connected to SHINee's butterfly in their "Ring Ding Dong" MV from 2009. Or the blue roses we see in Taemin's "Press Your Number" MV from 2016 may be connected to EXO's flower/blue rose concept, etc. Now I'm not completely convinced that SM would reach back that far, but it makes you question and consider things. :D I mean we see what looks like the pink planet from Super Junior's recent "House Party" MV and a scene from Super Junior-K.R.Y.'s "When We Were Us" MV from 2020 in "aespa's ep.1 - SM Culture Universe" video. And SM has even brought Kangta, who is a member of the very first Kpop boy group H.O.T., which debuted in 1996, into the storyline with his solo MV remake of H.O.T's song "Free to Fly." And Max Changmin from TVXQ joins the world of Kwangya in his solo "Devil" MV when we see him on the pink planet, etc. So it's starting to look like SM may be hinting at bringing everyone into the storyline, including their older groups and artists.
Thank you for this reaction! Always enjoy how you dissect not just the lyrics but also the visual symbolisms in the MV. SM videos will always give you a treat in this aspect. I recommend you react to Shinee's Good Evening next. This is their first group effort as 4 members after Jonghyun left for heaven. I am really interested how it translates with a mind like yours. Keep it up DG!
Love your reactions! SHINee really do shine whether solo or especially when they are all together! Would love you to check out some of their older songs, View and Married to the Music are my favourite MVs
jst a tiny thing about the train station scene, I saw it as them getting off the train they were on as them deciding to put an end to the journey they started with that person, the train is the relationship they started and they got off and left it behind.
YES LEGENDARY group for sure after all they're struggles and they're tragedie SHINee is still in a game and we got today another fantastic new SNSD after a very long hiatus will comeback this summer for they're 15 anniversary and an full album . i can't wait SM is the best agency in korea for sure .
SHINee is turning 14 yrs this May 2022. Taemin, ALL FIVE SHINee MEMBERS have superb solos, but it’s equally wonderful to see them together as a group, as SHINee. All members are equally just as amazing performers. Their synergy and chemistry together is insane! Their vocals together 👌👌👌! Taemin is SHINee’s youngest and he learned a lot from the older members.
Thank you for reacting to SHINee. This is Taemin's HOME where he feels most comfortable and who he considers family. He is the youngest member and was only 12 when he entered SM; 14 when he debuted with SHINee. You could say they raised him. Therefore, he is like an amalgamation of all of them. Again, a very good analysis. I went a little deeper only because, as a SHAWOL, certain images and design elements within the video made me think that, like Taemin's music and now Key's "Bad Love" and Onew's "Dice", "Don't Call Me" has a second, deeper meaning as well. Here are the elements I picked up on from past SHINee events: 1) The building they are in reminds me somewhat of one of the locations for their "Sherlock" MV, albeit more shabby, as if aged. 2) If you notice, the lighting you liked (night) is SHINee's signature color, pearl-aqua. This color is also used in their clothing (thank you, Key!) 3) SM has a running storyline throughout their groups called the SM Universe Theory. I believe this MV is linked to SuperM's MV (of which Taemin is also a member) because of: a) The "wormhole-like" tunnel mural at the 3:21 mark which then turns into a real tunnel, is just like the one in SuperM's MV for "Jopping" (their debut song) at the very beginning. This signifies teleporting (Kai's superpower in SuperM). b) You noticed that Taemin is levitating. This is his superpower in SuperM. You can see this in his intro trailer: ruclips.net/video/qRW_yeJTJGo/видео.html. He also appears as the controller of SuperM and/or a villan. As he walks up the stairs, you see several "Taemin Doppelgangers" implying he or someone else is replicating him. 4) Key's 2021 mini-album with the title song/MV, "Bad Love", has a space theme, and talks about a toxic love that lied to him. As he says at 1:50 mark, "I've paid for my sins. It's better to completely forget", he reaches up to the sky. His MV for "Hate That" also takes place in space where Key is looking down on Earth and is another "break-up" song. In fact, both Taemin ("Criminal" & "2 Kids", which are linked) and Minho with "Heartbreak" all came out with these break-up songs in succession. 5) Onew's new album/title MV, "Dice" deals with scifi and a "fake reality" which also heavily references SHINee's 2015, "Married to the Music" MV and includes Taemin's chainsaw fetish in his MV "Criminal", Minho's golfing passion, and a world Key would find on his space explorations. All of the above relates to the story set in motion with EXO's debut in 2012 and subsequently the SM Universe theory through some of SHINee's concert VCRs in 2012 below. Here are the specifics of why I think all of the above is related to the SM Universe Theory and EXO's storyline. With the 2012 debut of EXO as a group, their storyline began and SHINee helped to advance that storyline. Watch SHINee's intro VCR to their 2012 SWC II Concert: ruclips.net/video/EClJfBY6zag/видео.html (The concert is no longer available, but I found this fan copy of the VCR). SHINee witnessed the destruction of EXO planet and then were "called", as powerful guardians or angels, to intercept the same meteor to keep it from destroying Earth and other planets. Look at the stairs they climb up to be transported -- same as in Taemin's "IDEA" MV (connected). Here are two other SHINee 2012 VCRs: ruclips.net/video/TuhKcYsctWY/видео.html (SHINee members are being told it's time to go. They have symbolic necklaces and have been attacked. Minho has a SWORD like the one in the background of Taemin's "Advice" . They all seem to have superpowers. (You will soon learn that Taemin has a "thing" for guns and stuff that goes "boom".) It first appears as if Jonghyun is the one being beaten (if it's him), but then he appears with the others -- a doppelganger perhaps? SHINee World 2014 Concert VCR Intro (begin at 25 secs to 3:18: ruclips.net/video/LiDpnwH1uqo/видео.html Destruction everywhere; the girl, a little older, appears and is devastated; then SHINee appears --- again all in white. The city is restored. A second VCR, ruclips.net/video/OFYsYX0bFI0/видео.html has them battling malicious orbs (?). Minho again uses a sword. SHINee's "Underwater World" VCR has them wearing white, waiting for something. Benign orbs appear and they dive into the water. SHINee 2015 SWC IV Concert VCR Intro: ruclips.net/video/6TknOLesUc4/видео.html beginning to 4:22 mark. SHINee is being called upon again. Notice they are wearing white just as in the SWC II intro. A second VCR, "Chess" ruclips.net/video/zxfJL0D5zdU/видео.html has SHINee battling themselves as chess pieces (chess is a common theme. Taemin used it again in "Advice") Black vs. White -- doppelgangers? Minho is the Knight - knights use a sword. Third VCR, ruclips.net/video/lLQbT9nIa4o/видео.html Notice the name of the song and guess who is playing the piano. SHINee is back on Earth for restoration, bringing light and color. Watch from beginning to 3:34. SHINee 2016 SWC V "DDD" Concert Intro: ruclips.net/video/0uxYxAY5GKM/видео.html (In the church with the stained glass windows, look at which one they show - it looks like a saint holding a sword? Again, like the sword in Taemin's "Advice" opening scene with the sword sticking out of the shredded paper behind Taemin.) What do they find? A key with 5 gemstones. One to represent each of them. There are other VCRs, but I can't find them readily. However, they all have to do with space, keys, gems, destruction/restoration, guardianship, etc. Then, somewhere during that time, all of the above meshed into the SMCU (SM Culture Universe). Now, what does this all have to do with "Don't Call Me". If you connect the fact that they can teleport through that wormhole thing, they can travel anywhere including the past, present, future. They have powers like levitation and the ability to move objects (like planets in the 2012 beginning VCR). If you notice, when we get to the 3:25 mark, after they teleport, we see them in the same train station, however now they are in space. We can see the planets and stars outside the station. The station's walls have disappeared. Therefore, I'm wondering if maybe they are telling the powers that be, the one who calls them -- "Don't Call Me" anymore. We're tired; You lied to us; you cheated us; etc. Much in the way their solo songs espouse in their lyrics. I say this because if you watch their 2020 teaser for their "Don't Call Me" album, it's called fake reality: ruclips.net/video/8pN1Ob-qxP0/видео.html In this trailer, nothing is as it seems. It's a "fake reality". Notice however it includes spacecraft and....they get a phone call! I'm not saying the song doesn't also represent the surface lyrics. I just think that when you combine the imagery which coincides with Taemin's solo work like "IDEA" with that staircase and the silver surfer dude who could be an emerging doppelganger; Taemin's SuperM trailer where it's revealed that his superpower is levitation; SuperM's "Jopping" MV where we see that Kai's (of EXO) superpower is teleporting, all the space imagery within Key's album, Onew's weird reality in "Dice", and other SHINee MVs which include space, such as "I Want You". It's hard to not connect the dots. I'm not into other Kpop groups other than SHINee and some SuperM because of Taemin, so I don't know much about this whole thing. I just keep picking up on certain connections. However, to get an idea of what the SM Universe Theory entails, you can watch these videos: SMCU Origins: ruclips.net/video/PtFnieJ7Imc/видео.html How SM Artists fit into SMCU: ruclips.net/video/51ZqNnrQ94c/видео.html 10 Mysterious Artists in the SMCU: ruclips.net/video/bC4oetgemhQ/видео.html
Watch shinee’s raw talents esp onew’s skatt in a tv show called I Can See Your Voice season 8 ep 6 where they sang with the finalist Yang Ji. I promise you wont be disappointed.
The only group I stan other than BTS. Brilliant song. You should check out Key as well, the guy with the stripe on his face. His solo from earlier this year was killer.
SHINee! What a pleasant surprise! Dreamcatcher is my favorite girl group (or, more like, the only GG I actually stan), but SHINee is my all-time ultimate favorite! The visuals, the song, and the performance of this one is really insane -- you won't think they had a hiatus just before! Key, Minho, and Onew just came back from the military before this comeback. I get what you mean with Taemin and Onew seemingly hard to imagine being in a group; it's really just *so* amazing and unique of SHINee that all of their five members are strong soloists on their own. The other two that you haven't checked out yet have really interesting MVs, too, so it would be great if you can check out Key's Bad Love MV and Minho's Heartbreak MV. Nonetheless, thank you so much for watching this! Really made my night, especially with how much you enjoyed the music! I understand it can be a little too different for some so haha, yay for the taste! ;)
Please do check on more SHINee. Especially their LIVE PERFORMANCES! Also, members Jonghyun, Key, & Minho have solo releases you can watch too (aside from Onew and Taemin).
thanks for reacting to SHINee, they never disappoint. please react to minho, key and jonghyun, they are the other guys who are in the band. (jonghyun passed away in 2017. but SHINee will always be 5.
I would love to see you reacting to all the other members like Minho, Jonghyun and Key. I am so curious how you react to them since you started watching them first as solo artist instead as a group.
I'm waiting for Key's Bad love MV reaction after this~ we already have Taemin, Onew, SHINee.. so after this Key's Bad Love, Jonghyun's Crazy MV, Minho's Heartbreak MV~
All SHINee members are also soloists. The guy with red hair and in the red background is Minho. Please react to his solo MV called Heartbreak. Also, the name of the other guy is Key, please also react to his latest MV called Bad Love. They have a fifth member and his name is Jonghyun, please react to his last MV called Shinin'
Thx for react to SHINee!!! 😍 as they always say: SHINee never disappoints! I invite you to react to other MVs in the group, especially with the 5 members! They all have successful solo careers too, I'll leave you with some recommendations: SHINee: Atlantis, View, married to the Music, Dream Girl, Get the Treasure Key: Hate that…, Bad Love Jonghyun: Crazy (Guilt Pleasure), She is Minho: Heartbreak Onew: Blue Taemin: Press Your Number, Flame os Love, Famous I love your reviews, please react to more SHINee ❤️
Ok 1 more comment. You need to react to my bias KEY with his song BAD LOVE. It is really an awesome mv. He lead the diection of the video, and he had to tailor back some of his ideas because SM didn't think it would work, but they were wrong. Doubting Key is like doubting Taemin's creative prespective, which is insane. It's crazy to think he was denied a 2nd mv for Helium, an all English song because of SM. The album also entitled Bad Love in particular he put alot of his own ideas and even wrote for the album. He was the one memeber who was dressed in red surrounded by water. He is an all rounder. He is a comedian, a fashion icon, stage performer, actor, rapper, dancer, and singer.
This song is just dope..🔥 Thank you for this.. 😄 Would you please react to Call me baby by Exo.. and Tiger Inside by Superm.. you'll see members of different groups of SM in Superm.
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. This song is not for me. It's just not my thing, not well balanced for me. The fashion was wild. i did like the choreo though. i liked the feather headpiece. =0p Taemin hot as usual. Key with the red fit was chef's kiss. This was in ur face. Forceful. 0.0 A fan pointed out that they could be talking about some toxic fans too. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
Fun facts for you the book you see Onew holding at the start has the song lyrics inside it. The red head is minho. And the piano you hear at the end is taemin. The shinee members wearing red clothes is key. If you have any questions feel free to ask. ! This makes you a baby shawol. Welcome to shineeworld. Once your a part of it you can never leave. Haha or as Taemin says. Once you taem in you can't taem out.
Holy shit!

Have you ever considered reacting to Harry Mack Omegle Bars? Harry Mack will blow your mind. You have never seen anything like him.

I'm so happy that you reacted to shinee.they're Literaly legends
And more more more Taemin cause his music, lyrics, choreo, visuals, mvs/artistry and symbolisms are just insanely good
For more SHINee, maybe Married to the music, Tell me what to do, View, Everybody, Dream Girl and Get the Treasure
I play this song quite often still since it’s release over a year ago, so good…and the visuals, choreo etc so so good. As always I like how you interpret things
Yes that’s why they’re the complete package. 5 great successful solo artists who can shine bright on their own with very different colors and together as one they shine brightest/blend well together.
you speak well. i love your descriptions.....
Their live performances are the best!!!
Atlantis, Everybody, and Married to the Music! SHINee came back after 3 members military enlistment and killed it 👏 Waiting for 2023 Taemin's enlistment is supposed to end November 30th👑
yes I'm counting days for taemin to come back miss him so much
SHINee has a special place in my heart. The ONLY boy group I stanned back in my 2nd gen days, and the ONLY group I stanned since I discovered kpop in 2010 that is still active (damn the girl group curse 😂).
Edit: Also technically first ever kpop group I listened to! A friend showed me 'Hello'..I didn't like it 🤣
I know you generally react to more recent releases, but I'd love for you to react to a song with all 5 members.
All 5 have great solos (although I wish Minho had more than 2 fricken songs).Seeing how they've grown as artists and people since they debuted in 2008 has been amazing (they were literal children back then...Taemin was 14!)
Please react again!
Shinee are the standard in kpop... Their lives performances are amazing and their vocals uff
Just wanted to remind you that all members are soloists and have very different musical styles. Thank you for your reaction!
Two corrections from a fellow long time Shawol though:
1) SHINee is spelled with a double ee for a very specific reason: It's because in their understanding of the name, they don't shine, but they receive light.
I absolutely love this. I've heard only a couple of their songs but I'm liking these guys a lot. Thanks for the breakdown.
Welcome to SHINee World 😊

SHINEE debuted in 2008. Shinee is considered "The Princes of K-pop" for their perfect harmonies, classy dance moves, and trend-setting fashion. The group is composed of four members: Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Originally a five-piece group, main vocalist Jonghyun passed away suddenly in December 2017.

We Shawols don't see SHINee as a 4 member group nor do they
SHINee was, is and always will be a 5 member group
Onew said this a few days ago when talking about how difficult it was to dance and sing Dice alone compared to doing it with the 5 members.
And you put the 4 members solo works, but you don't put Jonghyun solo which is so sad. I don't want to be mean but is very sad see people referring to them as 4 when we both SHINee and Shawol see them as 5
Jonghyun
1. Crazy
2. She is
3. Shinin
Omg can’t believe it’s happened 🫣💫💫💫😃😃
Thank you so much for reacting to these guys....SHINEE is my ultimate group...nd ALL 5 MEMBERS ARE REAL TALENT....next plzz react to "MARRIED TO THE MUSIC" MV that will be fun seeing you decoding that mv...i don't think I have seen anyone who had guess thev 100% correct...Let's try 🙏
Shinee are some of the Kings of Kpop
Thank you so much for reacting to them!!
Their MV's with interesting storylines/concepts which I think would be interesting for a review (the songs are great too):
SHINee - Tell Me What To Do, Married to the music
Key - Bad Love, Hate That (feat. Taeyeon)
Minho - Heartbreak
Jonghyun - Crazy, She Is
Onew - Blue
They all are also amazing soloists, they hold solo concerts as well and their music is different from each other/SHINee as a group
yay SHINee! And i personally prefer when reactors pause better than having to do multiple things at once cos that's just difficult
This is the song that made me stan and love them and ultimately fall head over heels with Taemin. The only group that successfully make me obsessed after 10 years other than BigBang and SNSD since 2010.
Dont Call Me was my favourite comeback for last year and my own Song Of The Year for 2021.
Yessss SHINee 🔥❤️
Thank you so much for reacting to SHINee!
I've waited for this song for a long time
This song was my intro to Shinee and they are beyond amazing together and soloists.
Thanks for reacting to Shinee! I'd recommend Atlantis by them next. Such a good song.
you can check out for more SHINee! they are actually a 5-membered contemporary group and each of them has distinct vocals and style but they are musically beautiful together. you won't regret
glad you like them, you should check out more about them. they're really the most talented group out there
What I love about SHINee is all of them have their own character individually, but match perfectly and create unmatchable energy when they are together
YESSSSSS YOU FINALLY REACTED TO SHINEE
dude you're in for a treat!! please check out aone of their older stuff too
Please react to shinee

I love that you've checked out Shinee. They're one of the legendary kpop groups. I'd be happy to see you reacting to more of their songs. Also, I'd like to recommend you "be" by Eunhyuk. I think you might enjoy analyzing it.
It's 6:24 AM to me and I Am really grateful for such an amazing reaction vídeo as always!
Awww thank you so much!
it is 3AM for me. I have been waiting patiently for SHINee reaction.
Thank you for your patience :)
@@camixena IT was a surprise for me, i woke up and then there where a reaction to this masterpiece from one of the best reactors i've seen in a while.
You're too kind! Thank you :)
Thank you for reacting to SHINee🫂
I really loves your reaction to this DCM! Love it!
" MV, I think that scene with Taeyeon from Girls' Generation, standing on the rock in the middle of the ocean in "Hate That ..." is connected to that scene in "Don't Call Me" as well.)
Then it looks as though the SHINee members go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all posing in their black outfits. This looks very similar to the scene in SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of "Jopping."
The members of SuperM are supposed to be coming together to help EXO fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from taking over the world, etc.
MORE SHINEE PLS
Loved your reaction. Thank you!
So good reaction!
Thanks!
And i hope you watch this MV
SHINee-Atlantis
Love your reactions! SHINee really do shine whether solo or especially when they are all together! Would love you to check out some of their older songs, View and Married to the Music are my favourite MVs
jst a tiny thing about the train station scene, I saw it as them getting off the train they were on as them deciding to put an end to the journey they started with that person, the train is the relationship they started and they got off and left it behind.
Definitely a good point, I didn't think of it cause the train kept on moving but I like your thought!
yessss please do their song Atlantis next
As always I love your explanation type reaction Thanks and keep react or explain these songs for us
YES LEGENDARY group for sure after all they're struggles and they're tragedie SHINee is still in a game and we got today another fantastic new SNSD after a very long hiatus will comeback this summer for they're 15 anniversary and an full album . i can't wait SM is the best agency in korea for sure .
Aayyyy finallyyyy 😭 I'm so happy you liked them, there're some of their videos I'd love to know your interpretation to understan them better!!
also check out Key's solo work (the one in the red coat) his Bad Love album is wonderful 🔥
another banger reaction
Thank you for reacting to SHINee. This is Taemin's HOME where he feels most comfortable and who he considers family. He is the youngest member and was only 12 when he entered SM; 14 when he debuted with SHINee. You could say they raised him. Therefore, he is like an amalgamation of all of them.
Again, a very good analysis. I went a little deeper only because, as a SHAWOL, certain images and design elements within the video made me think that, like Taemin's music and now Key's "Bad Love" and Onew's "Dice", "Don't Call Me" has a second, deeper meaning as well. Here are the elements I picked up on from past SHINee events:
1) The building they are in reminds me somewhat of one of the locations for their "Sherlock" MV, albeit more shabby, as if aged.
2) If you notice, the lighting you liked (night) is SHINee's signature color, pearl-aqua. This color is also used in their clothing (thank you, Key!)
3) SM has a running storyline throughout their groups called the SM Universe Theory. I believe this MV is linked to SuperM's MV (of which Taemin is also a member) because of:
a) The "wormhole-like" tunnel mural at the 3:21 mark which then turns into a real tunnel, is just like the one in SuperM's MV for
"Jopping" (their debut song) at the very beginning. This signifies teleporting (Kai's superpower in SuperM).
b) You noticed that Taemin is levitating. This is his superpower in SuperM. You can see this in his intro trailer:
ruclips.net/video/qRW_yeJTJGo/видео.html. He also appears as the controller of SuperM and/or a villan. As he walks up
the stairs, you see several "Taemin Doppelgangers" implying he or someone else is replicating him.
However, to get an idea of what the SM Universe Theory entails, you can watch these videos:

Thanks for reacting to SHINee! ❤️ pls don’t miss their live performance 🙏🏻 I recommend Ring Ding Ding & Lucifer remix concert live 🥺🥰
5HINee and TAEMIN's live stages and dance practices are awsome

TAEMIN is THE KING
Watch shinee’s raw talents esp onew’s skatt in a tv show called I Can See Your Voice season 8 ep 6 where they sang with the finalist Yang Ji. I promise you wont be disappointed.
Taemin played the piano parts. :)

Haha awesome, thank you so much! :)
@@DGReacts ur welcome....now...can we have married to the music next then??? 😁....oh and good job at spotting taemin and jinki(onew)
I love this! I love how you review the songs :)
I recomend to you Key Bad love (the red boy with that thing in his head) that's a great song and MV
The only group I stan other than BTS. Brilliant song. You should check out Key as well, the guy with the stripe on his face. His solo from earlier this year was killer.
SHINee never dissapoint they have the passion 💎 pls react to more! View and Sherlock would be amazing
THANKS 😭💓
NEXT!!! KEY 'BAD LOVE'
pls react to jonghyun mvs too
thanks for reacting to SHINee, they never disappoint. please react to minho, key and jonghyun, they are the other guys who are in the band. (jonghyun passed away in 2017. but SHINee will always be 5.
Next: Key's Bad Love please
I would love to see you reacting to all the other members like Minho, Jonghyun and Key. I am so curious how you react to them since you started watching them first as solo artist instead as a group.
next time pls react to replay😍
5HINee is THE LEGEND
TAEMIN is THE KING
as they always say: SHINee never disappoints!
I invite you to react to other MVs in the group, especially with the 5 members! They all have successful solo careers too, I'll leave you with some recommendations:
SHINee: Atlantis, View, married to the Music, Dream Girl, Get the Treasure
Key: Hate that…, Bad Love
Jonghyun: Crazy (Guilt Pleasure), She is
Minho: Heartbreak
Onew: Blue
Taemin: Press Your Number, Flame os Love, Famous
I love your reviews, please react to more SHINee ❤️
PLEASE KEY BAD LOVE "PERFORMMANCE" RED OUFIT!!!BETTER THAN THE MV!!!!
Hello, can you react to Taemin's Thirsty? Super M And more SHINee too
Thanks
CANT WAIT FOR AESPA SAVAGE REACTION
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. This song is not for me. It's just not my thing, not well balanced for me. The fashion was wild. i did like the choreo though. i liked the feather headpiece. =0p Taemin hot as usual. Key with the red fit was chef's kiss. This was in ur face. Forceful. 0.0 A fan pointed out that they could be talking about some toxic fans too. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
I recommend u react TREASURE "DARARI" ❤️❤️😍
Si je peux me permettre de vous conseiller une autre vidéo de 2021 du groupe SHINee , Atlantis .... ruclips.net/video/PSYRbJjIT6U/видео.html
please react to more of taeyeon and check girls generation music .. they are coming back this august as full group 8 members
i think this one was about toxic fans
Definitely an option!
I have watched "Don't call me" so many times and you keep calling out things I never noticed. 🤦♀️
