- A few thanks and some Holden fun in this video. We take a closer look at the instrumentation in this video and clean it up... although not the surround at this point. We then retrieve our items from the hydroblasting and the platers and re-assemble the 'parts' carburettor. And quite a few other details as well. Hope you enjoy!
I love these videos, Peter! I very much appreciate your in-depth analysis and endlessly useful tips and tricks. I have applied many pieces of advice I have picked up from you, I'm very grateful!
Great Charlie and thanks. There will be a few more videos like this on the way, cheers.
Silver finish gets the golden prize here !
Thanks mate and thanks again for that mint speaker grille!
Thanks Pete excellent, this type of work goes back to the teenage years and working on my HD Ute.. ahh the olden day's ! 19:10 be careful, you can say that again, careful of Free Whillie there, if you didn't go the Grey motor a 149, if you could find one is a close match, have a bit more stick also. It's nice to be watching some Holden stuff. cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it Andy, I'll see what grey bits arrive first - I've never had a grey motor and I kinda feel the need to mess with one, cheers.
Hi Pete. Might be time to shout yourself a new piece of cardboard. Don't worry about the cost, it's worth it.
Better yet, sell it to the Melbourne Art Gallery. Gotta be worth $5 million or more.
You're right Ron - are the new faces available for the Moke speedo's? I was thinking about what you said, cheers.
I reckon working on the little things is just as satisfying as the big stuff.
Ditto, it's nice of you to say, cheers.
Love it Peter. Continuity alert: 20:24. You've already assembled the fuel gauge 😆
Great your back Peter 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love your videos Pete 🍻
Glad you like them and thanks!
Another great video Peter I actually like the variety of content keep up the good work
Thanks Judd!!
Variety is great, Peter. I find working on several different things at once suits my attention span!
Absolutely and I never get overwhelmed with it either - variety is the spice of life, cheers.
Years ago I had a mate From Melbourne who had a Toyota Crown ute with X2 intake and exhaust set up on a holden engine , The twin carbs made it run super smooth, and while it was no road burner it was a nice drive. Around the same time, another mate running a wrecking yard had bought an HR ute with an X2 option including the badge on the tail gate. Once was a time if you had the readies you could order a car which wasn't normally available.
Very true and those were the days... I had a look online for an X2 air cleaner - $1,300 - $1,500!!
Peter.. While I do enjoy the Fords, I'll gladly watch anything you're working on..
Your viewers enjoy your content as well.. They've shown it with their generous donations!! Keep doing what you are doing.. The majority of us enjoy it!!
Peace and love my friend!!
Hey Brian, thanks as always for your wonderful support, cheers and stay well!
Excellent job and video, Peter!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Please don't apologise for these videos I think they are great!
Thanks, I was getting worried, cheers.
that takes me back to the days of cleaning my kids xbox dvd games after they had got there greasy paws all
over them picking up all the dust an scratching them used to work a treat
Thanks and cheers.
Be great if you could get some video of Harvey working his magic.
Yes, but that may be a pretty closed shop - he's an artisan and we leave them alone to weave their magic!
Don't paint them black. Silver is pretty retro and classy I reckon.
Super excited about the new holden now.
Thanks and yes I agree, I'll clear the throttle body's - the black does look rather poor, cheers.
The hardest thing to do is chrome plastic objects wherebeit clear or coloured . You need special tooling and it can only be done under vacuum in a special chamber, the paint doesnt look right.
It's a bit like that Jeep ad Peter, "you're gonna need a bigger shed"..... regards, Geoff from Merimblua
Fibre washes for the manifold might be the go
Yes true, although I found a better linkage kit that's available - simpler and more streamlined than this clunky old setup, cheers.
@@PeterAndersons Good to hear , loving the variety in content . Keeps it fresh , and if its the same for you then all is well
Vintage Peter Anderson 👍
Haha, but I'm still younger than this old jalopy!
@@PeterAndersons i think I am about the same age!
Local wreckers Pete))
Yes it's looking that way, but separation will mean some cars will go, cheers.
on the export EJ EH's they had a kilometers speedo face
make sure you get that spacer between the main carb body and base round the right way
i use grey motor carbs on my x2 manifold with adjustable main jets
I certainly have a lot to learn in this space, so any pointers are well appreciated, cheers.
Personal opinion, the door handles might not be correct but they look way better in the silver/chrome. I think, they kind of make the car look like a lower spec model. Chrome always lifts a car and adds a touch of class, that's what I think anyway.
Fair enough too Harvey, the chrome were standard on Falcon, Falcon 500, Fairmont, Fairlane and LTD. Falcon GS and Fairmont GXL were meant to be black - still, it will be a long time before I change them, it's a pain of a job and I only have one, cheers.
Seeing you're building the EJ from parts Peter are you going to zero the speedo? You'll then have a real time mileage of the "new" car... regards, Geoff from Merimbula
Hey Geoff, nah I'll leave it at the 52K miles it reads. Although the XC is 'new' its speedo reads 80K, so I think of it as a great car that's just had a huge 80,000km service!
Pete when do you get the EJ shell?
Perhaps late September in the holidays, there's another car and a load of EJ stuff arriving in a week or so, so there will be loads of content in the meantime, cheers.
Hey Pete, have you checked Howard Astell and what he’s doing with an XC
Yes a rather brilliant custom, a bit out of my league!
@@PeterAndersons what you’re doing is brilliant mate
