    honestly it's a matter of perspective. After the movie I did not think of the crash as a "turning point" or a "wake-up call" for Jann at all, it simply seemed like an extremely traumatic event that was part of his career. You also say that apparently he worked harder as a result of the crash but that's not how the movie tells the story at all, he worked harder because the team and reputation of sim gamers as racers was at stake. When you think of the timeline as well, LeMans was a massive turning point in his career, so naturally that would be put in near the end as a big climax scene. If you proceeded to put the crash AFTER that, you'd need to extend the movie even further past it's already long 2 hour 15 min runtime to talk about his recovery and comeback to the sport. I'd say the directors did a good job, and people saying it's disrespecting to the victims family need to actually talk to the victims family and see what they think of it.

      Except this movie is taking a real life tragedy event and add it as a narrative of the movie which steers to a lot of controversy if it's handled in the wrong way that comes off very disrespectful to the victims of the crash
