  • Navigating the world of desk setups involves watching hours and hours of content where people spend obscene amounts of money on gadgets and stuff for their setups, making it hard for you to figure out what's ACTUALLY important when it comes to upgrading your own setup, and what's just superfluous or nice to have.
I've tried my best to come up with a definitive list of all the upgrades you could make or types of accessories you could buy, and I'll be ranking them all so you can make a more informed purchase based on what you REALLY need!

I just realized I forgot to do the title card for the storage section, buuuut it would take me hours to fix it now, so I implore you, dear viewer, to close your eyes and imagine the most stunning and amazing title card you’ve ever seen, with the word “STORAGE” emblazoned across the screen in such a memorable fashion that it would deny all probability were it ever to leave your mind! That’s how good it would’ve been. Trust me.

I mean, 310 views in a day, for a channel with only 40 subs… pretty good in my experience.

Thanks bro 🙏🏼 Hopefully that’ll change over time (the view count, not the quality 😅), but I’m just glad to have you guys watching right now!

Do you find the pegboard affects your acoustics at all? Cheers, nice video!

I didn’t notice any change at all, but I also do have acoustic foam on the wall behind the computer, plus acoustic panels on the opposite wall, as well as a lot of stuff crammed into a small room, so the acoustics were already pretty decent. But in theory, anything is better than a flat surface, since the more you break up the reflections of the sound, the less reverb you’ll hear! So it SHOULD help at least a little bit, but I can’t tell you how much.
      Thanks man! 🙏🏼

About the mouse, seriously if you're not gaming and just doing office work. Checkout trackballs, it helped me tremendously with shoulder, hand and arm pain.
I was already using a premium mouse before this, but this was seriously a game changer and is often overlooked.

I’m old enough to remember when trackballs were a thing, so I can’t help but feel like people my age or older refuse to use them because they think it’s an antiquated device, much like a fax machine 😅 I can imagine it’s an absolutely great way to alleviate all kinds of pain like you say, but I just think it’s too alien for most people to consider switching to after a lifetime of using a regular mouse - same way that an alternative keyboard layout might make more sense than the standard QWERTY, but it’s just too much of a hassle for most people to even try.
I’m curious though. How long did it take you to get used to it? Do you feel like you’re able to use it as effectively as a regular mouse?

@@AlexTalksTechOnRUclips Yeah your probably right about the to alien part.
It's always fun when a coworker wants to show me something really quick on my computer and then they are stomped because they can't find the mouse :D.
Honestly adapting to using it wasn't too difficult for me. I guess this is mainly because I use a thumb trackball which has the same button layout and the same grip as a regular mouse (logitech ergo m575)
All in all after a week of continuous use I had almost the same control as with a mouse. It's definitely easier to pickup then an ergo keyboard.
There are just some things which don't work as well. tiny movements when for example cutting out an image in photoshop or similar tasks suck.
FPS are difficult for the same reason, but i still played cyberpunk with it, as i'm way better at aiming with it then with a game pad, and you can play on it even when sitting on your couch. Though i still choose my mouse when I'm playing competitively.

It honestly doesn’t sound quite as bad as I was imagining it would be. I don’t think I could ever switch over fully, just because I do enjoy playing the occasional FPS, plus I’m just too accustomed to using a mouse by now, so much so that it feels like second nature. But maybe I should give it a try at some point, just to see if it’s something I would want to incorporate into my daily workflow and setup. These are precisely the kind of things I’d want to explore with this channel! 😊
So I guess you’d say the Ergo M575 would be a good starting point to try out this type of thing?

@@AlexTalksTechOnRUclips Yes it's a good starting point. There is also the gameball which I heard good things about.
