    I have had an MX Master for literally over a decade (I'm a software engineer). I have two right now, one for WFH and one for the office. Brilliant. My mouse for gaming is a Logitech G502X and the G is better for sure, it's also frustrating as heck. I prefer the Master handsdown (pun intended) for comfort and fit to my hand. I wish Logi made the G502X inside the Master 3S body. A sleeper build if you will. The only reason I have a gaming mouse is because the bluetooth in my rig stutters so gameplay is trash with the MX Master 3S (now. It used to work fine). Previously I'd just use the button switch between laptop and desktop.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 дня назад

      Damn, I forgot to mention that! Yeah, it’s insane that Apple is still selling a full priced phone with a 60hz display in 2024! Yet another reason to skip this phone, and not support these ridiculously marginal “improvements” they keep making.

  • @tuuchen2990
    @tuuchen2990 3 дня назад

    I think the first statement "there's nothing wrong with the iPhone 16" isn't entirely accurate. The main issue with iPhone 16 is that it's being marketed with AI features that are still not fully implemented yet.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 дня назад

      You’re right about that! The more I think about it, the more egregious I find it that they’re advertising features that aren’t out as a main selling point of this phone. I do wish I had underlined that a bit more, because I really think people buying this phone right now just teaches Apple that they can get away with releasing unfinished products.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 3 дня назад

      That’s a fair point. Though to be honest, I’d say that anyone that has a working phone with at least a year more to go before it stops working, I’d recommend waiting for next years iPhones anyway for two reasons: 1) It’s likely to be a more substantial upgrade, due to the cyclical nature of iPhone releases. 2) We wouldn’t be rewarding a company for making tiny incremental changes (which I did mention in the video), and for releasing a product which doesn’t even have the features you’ve advertised (Apple Intelligence). But yeah, I could’ve been more clear about that in the video. Thanks for the feedback!

    • @sportschad
      @sportschad 10 дней назад

      @@AlexTalksTechOnRUclips Well, the dedicated G-Shift key and the placement of it is key to its productivity power. After that I basically have at least 24 programmable functions on that "full sized keyboard" alone only using G-Shift. If I use Logitech's Lua feature that can integrate the modifiers on the keybaord, you're looking at like what...more than 96 programmable functions? Maybe more. I tried it before using a co-worker's G600, once it's set up, the productivity power of the G600 just has no equal, it's still doesn't to this day. When it comes to video editing, 3D rendering, photo editing, general office works, probably not so much with coding. You can work while you f*p, with some exceptions. Only gripe I had on making me get one for myself is that it has no infinite scroll which can annoy me sometimes when I'm coding. So I stuck with my G502, which also has G-Shift/Lua set up, so I have like 50+ available programmable functions per application.

    One thing I really hate about the MX Master after long term use is the weight and the rubbery material. It makes my palm sweat so much and it also deteriorate due to the sweat.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 10 дней назад

      You should consider the M6! It doesn’t feel quite as premium, obviously, but if you’re not a fan of the weight and the rubber on the MX Master, then the lightweight plastic might actually be a big improvement for you. So far, I’m really loving the M6!

    horizontal scrolling is also possible with G502 (scroll wheel side press) and also even if you don't have a scroll wheel's side press, you can just hold Shift and scroll up and down with scroll wheel and it will scroll horizontally

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 11 дней назад

      I know it’s technically possible to scroll sideways using the side press, but it’s nowhere near as fluid and easy to use. But again, I’m arguing for such minor luxury improvements. It’s not like you can’t find your way around not having a horizontal scroll wheel. But there’s just something about having it that really gets me, for some reason 🤓

    I wonder how M6 in shape holds up against the Cherry 8C ergo. (But if we looking at spec wise I still gonna get the M6 4K. totally worth the 110 imo) Also node for AUTOCAD workers with 4k panels, you want your pointing device to run the same refresh rate as screen (pollen rate to resolution of display) to minimalise jitter and such in workflow. Just adding this as a casual amateur gamer and database engineer

      That’s an interesting point about working on 4K panels. I still think for most people it makes more sense to get the regular 1K M6, but I see how there might be some actual benefits to the 4K version. I guess I’m just struggling with the overall concept of buying a more expensive version of a thing that’s meant to be a budget option, if you know what I mean. I’ve never tried a Cherry mouse before. Maybe I should check out the 8C Ergo, or one of their other ones 🤔

    Since you mentioned those Grovemade desk pads, it's about $20 in materials and less than an hour of labor to made your own custom desk pad. Get a roll of thin cork, a yard or so of wool felt (which is small enough that you might find it in the discounted scraps bin), and a can of spray adhesive from the fabric store. Cut the cork to size, spray with adhesive, and attach it to the felt. Cut mitered edges in the felt with a utility knife and wrap and adhere them to the bottom. Nice vid mate, agree with some of their other criticism regarding the background music and intro, but I'd add that I personally really don't like when music fades in and out between segments the way you did it, again, just me. I think background music should stay background (or just boost it a bit) and you use verbal transitions accompanying the transition slides to mark segment changes rather than the background noise suddenly bombing my speakers Hope that wasn't too rough, I'm not too good at injecting emotions online. I did quite like the video. Though as I'm sure you know, using integer measurements (i.e., points) with the items not being separated by the same integers is flawed methodology, but it's ok for this format where it's a comparative review rather than an "all products" review

    I actually do like lengthy intros… every once in a while. On one hand, they make your expectations super clear. and that’s something I really appreciate. But on the other hand, it’s not something I want all the time, and it’s often that you’ll get 3 minutes in (like with this) and realize the main event hasn’t even started yet. Just something to think about, and you could apply some of this ‘shortening’ elsewhere. Otherwise, I am pretty pleased with your delivery and the content itself 🫡

    • @codexous
      @codexous Месяц назад

      One thing I notice you doing is that you speak all your thoughts. Again, not bad, I do the same thing just in terms of how I speak and present things to others. However, I think you could benefit from leaving out some basic commentary. I think of it like, *you want to let the audience come to their own conclusions*. See in what ways you could maybe dial back sharing all your opinions, or condense them, or leave them half suggested or implied, so that you can still feel like you are sharing your genuine opinions, and guiding the audience’s opinions, while letting them have room to take your ideas and remix them a little. If you wanted to keep the videos the same length, you could cut out some of your transitional commentary and just let the b-roll play, it would accomplish the same goal of showing the audience there is something new to discuss, while giving their ears a break and time to absorb what you just said. Again, just some quick thoughts, some of these are style preferences, but I do think you could do well with experimenting with them

    What's the quality on older macbooks with usb2 connections?

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      To be honest, it’s not quite as good! When using USB2, you’re not able to get the uncompressed format, and quality does suffer a bit! I only tried it once when I was setting it up, but I remember it being pretty pixelated 😕

    Meanwhile where is even better mouses than these 2. Ha

      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      There are other ones out there that are pretty worthy contenders, but I do think there’s a reason these two are so popular! That being said, I just got a Keychron M6, and I’m finding it to be a great alternative if you want just one mouse to do it all! It’s super cheap as well, albeit a bit plastic-y! I’m gonna’ do a video on that as soon as I get settled in my new job 😊

      The amount of stuff you can customize this mouse to do is really underrated, in my opinion! I haven’t even delved into half of it, but even so, it’s made a huge difference in my workflow!

    I like this iPad but Apple removed the headphone jack.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      That still bugs me too, but at this point I’ve got a bunch of AUX to USB-C adapters that I just use on any headphones I need to. They only cost like a couple of bucks in most stores. But even so, yeah, it still annoys me a bit.

      Ah yes, no setup is complete without a bunch of RGB lights everywhere! But they have to be the most expense ones you can get from Govee, or else there’s no point to it 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

    Why did you choose this chair over the Colamy Atlas? Seems for the same price this chair is missing lots a features such as, 1. Plastic base/legs instead of metal 2. Non-adjustable headrest 3. Ineffective lumbar support 4. Plastic arm rests I ordered Colamy Atlas, waiting for it to come, but I think the colamy would be a better choice for you, warranty is decent, 3 years.

      he prob tried to be different since a lot of ppl knows about Colamy already. or this is a sponsored post. I also order Colamy last week but it still hasn't shipped lmao.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      @theharleyma No sponsorships here, I’m afraid 😅 It was just the best chair (seemingly) I could find in my region at that price. I did spend a few weeks researching my options before landing on that one! I wanted to be sure since I was spending my own money on it! @suntnavarro Truth is, I actually did consider the Colamy Atlas for a variety of reasons, since it seemed really good at that price point, but ultimately, I couldn’t find any retailers that shipped it to my location. I was also a little skeptical of some of the (sponsored!) reviews I saw of it, but I’d certainly be interested to try it out for myself. Let me know how you like it once it does show up, I’d love to hear it! (Same for you, @theharleyma)

      You have to lean back into the tilt you want and then twist the handle to lock it in. But it works really well.

    I would get a kid an older model tbh

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      We actually did that twice over, but ultimately we ran into issues of compatibility with the first one, because it stopped being supported by Apple, so downloading games and such was really hard, and the second one apparently had some water damage to it that we didn’t know about. So that’s why we went with a new one this time around. But yeah, an older model would be fine too, in theory.

    The mx master3 has more buttons than i would ever need and plus the other one honestly looks like a cheap mouse. I just purchased the mx master 3 today and couldnt be happier plus i got it for $75 out the door from walmart (i had a $15 coupon) its perfect for editing on Lightroom. And plus that side scroll wheel is what made me get it.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      I can’t argue with that. The build quality and design of the MX Master 3 is just absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. I’m sure you’re gonna love it!

  • @nagaki_y

    Which one is better? Ive been using mx master2 for 4 years, quite comfortable grip but the common button issue for this version is annoying because its keep coming back, and the part inside where usually need fix is now broken cos too fragile now I lost control not of one button but 3 side buttons.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 2 месяца назад

      I honestly prefer the G502 Hero, but that’s mostly because of its versatility. I can’t say my MX Master 3 has had any issues with build quality. But if you want to replace your old mouse, you might want to consider either the G502 or something else entirely. I’m getting a Keychron M6 soon, and I’m hoping that’ll be like a best of both worlds type of thing.

      That’s the thing - figuring out what works for you is what it’s all about. At best, reviews and videos like these can help to inform you, but ultimately you have to know what you want and need!

      On a side note, I just ordered the Keychron M6, which is supposed to be sort of like a middle ground between the MX Master 3 and the G502 Hero, so I’m excited to try that one out! ☝🏼🙏🏼
