With all the laning tip videos i've ever watched, nobody has ever made a strong point about this. With the 2v1 concept, now I have it in my mind to always watch for the triangles. Great advice!
creep management also comes 2nd from this.. when i play sometimes i still make mistake when i go into an enemy with a inflated creep wave even if its 2v1 you will lose because there's too many creeps on enemy side.. im a low rank so dont flame for not managing my creeps properly.
This is one of my biggest gripe when playing POS 3, my POS 4 is simply not beside me for the first few levels, because they are too busy fighting for bounty runes or teleport to another lane so early. Then my lane literally becomes impossible because I get zoned out or bullied 2v1. IDK why lots of POS 4's think its worth whatever they are running off doing.
Sometimes staying mid for a short time and spamming a couple nukes can win mid a close lane. But don't stay to long and sap ex from mid or it has the opposite effect
@@sneakychicken most of if not always mids that pos 4 rotated to do nothing to grief lane, always ends up worse and useless entire game, offlaners have much more impact in the game because midlaners need to defend mid and hit creeps to get items
I actually forgot about it... It is actually so helpful!
Not only for laning. Also for pickoffs. I realize low mmr like to fite 5v5 or 4v5 instead of finding pickoffs like 4v2 or 4v1. There is a reason ur carry is split pushing, he is splitting the enemy so u can outnumber the enemy.
Wow this should really be the emphasis on how to win lanes, i've watched hundreds of vids on how to get better but no one has mentioned this point, or atleast not as directly as you did to make us understand how they win trades. I started demolishing my lanes as a pos 1 but now i need to learn how to win the damn game. I go like 6 and 0 in the first 10 ish minutes and somehow my farm is still same or lower than the enemy carry with like 4 deaths and we end up losing late game 40 mins plus

Hey dude, Really enjoy the channel. Been learning and improving alot due to your videos, practice and most of all be more aware and think dota. Thanks dude! Working hard to reach legend.
Good video. I'm a 7k immortal pos 5 that has started coaching lower MMR players for fun. This video has helped me brush up on my knowledge on how we should be laning,
Thank you for posting this. As a support player, it's brutal when i match up with cores that aren't watching for the 2v1 situations. They either hide and do nothing but hit creeps or suicide.
In example 2, the oracle was in range. It is not a 2v1, but instead level advantage. At 2:20 gametime he is level one. With his E that engagement's outcome would have been different
In my regional server people have a bit different mentality. They do trading all the time completely forgetting about creeps. The higher you go the more they actually last hit, the thing changing is they start pressing buttons together instead of randomly throwing spells for nothing and they start to consider amount of resources and creeps around that also have some effect on trades.
Its a nice way to look at laning stage I suppose. Although, 6:41 contrary to your advise to have high hp, lion goes into the fight with low hp and wins the trade. I think attacking enemy hero is always a risk
This is one of the oldest early play way back in dota 1 when it is still played via lan game because it is easy to communicate with your team. The problem here is, you also have to consider the hero match up if you want to abuse 2v1 as this is not always as effective as everyone though. And ofcourse, it is now very hard to pull this of unless you really have a good comms.
Is it worth to leave a winning lane to help other losing lanes or staying benefits better? The 2v1 punishing is very interesting and I will try to apply in my games. But I think as a lower mmr player, both pair of hero should be very good at casting their spell. If not something will go wrong and massive cs will be wasted.
As long as you are winning, do not leave until you are sure you have absolutely secured your core in lane and there is nothing else better to do in lane (enemy playing too safe, core safe alone, core winning lane alone).
Pretty sure that if they are winning the lane, and their safe lane is being destroyed and constantly pushed deep in tower range, he should immediately tp there... People be hugging their lane 2 much some times, for no reason
Just applied this to my game and won easily thank you for this free and useful video! Hope to see more videos Subscribed and bell notif for you man . I wish I can get coaching Do you have any other payment methods>?
Outside of identifying enemy laner mistakes, what can you do to create or even force enemy laners into a 2v1 situation. How can you get them into a bad spot?
The ideal scenario would be to get the last hit together with the harass (kill the creep then start trading, or both kill the creep and harass the enemy at the same time with AOE spell if you are a hero that can do that). If not, then yes, if you can dish out a ton of damage to the enemy hero right in the moment over a last hit, preferably pick that instead.
The bad thing about low mmr games is that it’s low mmr and you can have someone with 1000 games that can’t play and someone with 400 games that has a way better eye for strategy and team coordination but gets stuck because of the bad plus just running away because they got stunned in the first trade off… such a hit and miss game
He is just using it as a example, of course execution and mechanic skills matter in these situations, but he is just talking about how abusing 2v1 scenarios will give your lane the most advantage, but it’s a complex game, of course lane manipulation, last hit/deny, knowing power spikes, buying proper trading items, outsustaining with regen items, mechanical skills, etc, will all add up to the final result
I feel like all the guide videos "feel" like good advice because the person is commenting on something they already know is going to happen, and so it "feels" like they know what they are talking about. Dota is complicated. Take what you can from these videos. Literally just watched a video before this where someone was arguing the exact opposite. We all watch these videos, play a game, and if we win we think "OMG they were right". If it were this simple we would all be 9K. Best advice I can give: Remember to have fun
@@BalloonDota Thanks, brother! BTW, this is a fantastic video that covers such a crucial aspect of the laning phase. It's the first time I've seen someone address this topic, and it's incredibly important. i play as hard support and Ive lost some friends trying to explain this when they play as carry lmao...
I was always thinking that as a support you will always fix the lane thats why i pull everytime if the creeps are near on the enemys tower and ignore solo kills because to close on the tower.am i wrong on this or not?(Sorry for bad english)
Pulling should only be done in a losing or even lane that you cannot trade. Otherwise, priority is always given towards winning lane and trading favorably with your partner in lane (2v1 etc). Never leave lane as support unless you know that it is a lane you cannot trade based off matchup, resources and other factors.
Completely wrong. The most efficient play for supports is 1. Stay back behind your core as far as possible 2. Conserve your attacks. Use them exclusively to compete with your teammate for cs (important) 3. Do not get hit and DO NOT press a spell until at least minute 4. Save your mana and hp for next game (you can sell your tangos back as well) 4. When your tier 1 eventually dies, get straight to jungle farming until you net about 10k gold. Never show in lane or get close to your teammates. They will leech your xpm. 4. During this process, periodically flame your team for being useless. This step is absolutely crucial, keep reminding yourself. 5. Although you never endanger yourself, somehow accrue the highest death count in the entire match (havent figured this one out yet, maybe you can give me some advice) This is what i gathered from closely watching my pos4 witch doctor today. He seemed to know what he was doing and was very sure of himself.
