ps= i hope they make more songs in the vein of this...i love the chillness to it, you can just sit back and get lost in it...amazing...for those of you who havn't heard the studio version of this, called "red star"....go find it, buy it, pirate it, steal it...whatever is good for you...just listen to it!=)
Yeah, i saw it just the other day at the 3/20/08 show and didn't have a clue why they had a shirt that said "So Pretty". I was racking my brain for a good part of the drive home trying to figure out what song it was from. But i didn't know the song yet as this video proves to me.
i'll admit this live performance, while not horrible, isn't as inspiring as i'd like it to be...but the studio version of this, found on the "red star ep" is absolutely amazing...and that and "why can't you be" are the two songs that are leading me to believe Ursa Major will blow my mind...i hope=)
yeah.. so i've read too.. i rummaged every record stores here in our place, they ran out of 3eB's previous albums! guess i'll just have to wait for june
when I hear a chord or jenkins singing voice thrilled me and especially with songs dedicated to the beauty (woman) someone know which disk is so Pretty Please
i was hoping this would've been on ursa major... hopefully they're gonna release it on ursa minor when they put that out. i hated this song the first time i heard it and now i think it's probably one of my all-time favorites from 3eb.
ok, well i'm not sure about this song yet. it sounds like something off out of the vein, like folky? it is hard to describe. but i am 3eb's biggest fan so i still love it. I think they should do a final mix down of gorgeous or alright caroline, now there are 2 hits in the making.
I dig this song, its real casual. I could sit in traffic with it on repeat without it pissing me off-and thats a decent commitment to make. It's almost got no agenda for the listener. Seems like they've gotten more personal in writing over the years, they were already pretty personal. I feel bad for Stephan Jenkins, he gets such a bad rep sometimes. Funny how they get slammed for their latest album because it's not radio friendly. I think he could easily repeat the success of first title/rec.
Does anyone know where I can get the lyrics for this song? Also, I kinda like the one on the Red Star - EP more just for the fact of how it was produced. I think they were going for that ethereal sound, and it really sounds like some of the stuff on Blue, with Cadogan :)
@diperrimaxify if you have the ep? I know there is a special version ursa major drive more red star ep with 5 songs 2 Songs uk edition more than the original ep know anything about it?
Stefan does look a bit like Matthew Perry now and looks quite a bit different to a few years ago! That's not a bad thing though and he's still looking good. I love Third Eye Blind's music!
Tony Fredianelli was actually the original guitarist for the band, and did some shows with them, but wasn't able to tour at the time. Kevin Cadogan came along afterward. I do agree that Tony is a much better fit in the band, though.
this song is deep....the lyrics...the guitar work...the arrangments...killer drums...sick bass line...there should be more bands like 3eb, we need to get rid of nickelback, fall out boy,and any other shit band...3eb strictly for the misfits
I know what you are saying. Like GOW for example is great example of the "edgyness" you are talking about. However, I personally think that technically Fredianelli is a better guitar player than Cadogan. I think hes done a great job in keeping 3eb alive. They are different people, they can't write exactly the same. "Faster, Forget myself, Misfits etc... Hes done a great job in filling in.
yeah i thought 1000 julys would have been a stronger single than 10 days late. it'll never happen but it would be awesome if gorgeous made the hideous strength.
for those arguing about kevin/tony: cadogan was more creative and was a better composer than tony. however, anything he played, tony plays just as well if not better. i just dont ever expect a song to come near the beauty that is God of Wine, because jenkins cannot produce masterpieces by himself, over and over. he needs help from the rest of the band. tony and leo will not be able to help in that aspect. dont you forget that arion salazar was also a big contributor to the original 3EB sound.
Fredianelli is technically a better guitar player that Cadogan?! Maybe you never heard the songs God of Wine, Losing a Whole Year, Wounded, etc...or any decent guitarist for that matter. Technically, Tony is a cover guitarist that plays Cadogans songs for a living. Saying that is like saying Avril Lavine is technically a better guitarist that Jimmy Paige. Whatever, enjoy listening to Tonys technically superior, standard tuning, 3 chord guitar playing!
are you fucking serious....cadogan was a 5 times better fit and it showed in the music. songs cadogan helped with were in a whole nother league than the rest of 3eb's stuff
ps= i hope they make more songs in the vein of this...i love the chillness to it, you can just sit back and get lost in it...amazing...for those of you who havn't heard the studio version of this, called "red star"....go find it, buy it, pirate it, steal it...whatever is good for you...just listen to it!=)
guh....i could listen to them all day every day and NEVER get tired of them.lol soundtrack to my life
I love the song. SO MUCH.
I am so excited for the new album
YES! It has been so long.
The lyrics and his voice.....amazing.
amazing how much this song has evolved! LOVE IT!
i love this song. this might be my new favorite 3eb song. excellent work!
2015 still tuned in
my favorite line in the song.

i agree, let's hope arion does return at some stage

Great tune guys - you are a word-smith. Where can we get this great tune? New CD?
i was hoping this would've been on ursa major... hopefully they're gonna release it on ursa minor when they put that out.
i hated this song the first time i heard it and now i think it's probably one of my all-time favorites from 3eb.
What did they do, edit this music video so Tony the lead guitarist is rarely shown in it?
red staaaar
i agree, i prefer it live, although i still love the ep version. i like the guitar solo on this version
tentatively febuary 09 but it's been expected since 06
it's on iTunes

I absolutely love this version of the song, but I fear what Stephan may have done to it for the new album. *cries*
@diperrimaxify if you have the ep? I know there is a special version ursa major drive more red star ep with 5 songs 2 Songs uk edition more than the original ep know anything about it?
I didn't know that. Did TF reccord and of the early material too? I always thought KC was the first.
@TheNebakanezer we toast the blood of our enemies!!!
y the camera onli focus on stephan and the drummer ?
When is the new album coming out?
Red Star
is their album out already?
yeah thats what i meant by they sound folky since cadogan left
Stefan does look a bit like Matthew Perry now and looks quite a bit different to a few years ago! That's not a bad thing though and he's still looking good. I love Third Eye Blind's music!

i dont care who has more talent. im just saying songs cadogen wrote were way better and more creative than any other 3eb songs.
yeah i thought 1000 julys would have been a stronger single than 10 days late. it'll never happen but it would be awesome if gorgeous made the hideous strength.
just google search red star lyrics.

Might be cause they are the only original members? Sucks, cause I like Tony better than Kevin (don't hate, jmho) I wish Arion would come back though.
i really do not see how he looks like matthew perry. i think stephan jenkins is much hotter. but i do agree that he is the best lyricist :)
I suggest you should, because I did to remember who he was, and they look nothing alike.
Fredianelli is technically a better guitar player that Cadogan?! Maybe you never heard the songs God of Wine, Losing a Whole Year, Wounded, etc...or any decent guitarist for that matter. If you think he looks like Matthew Perry I suggest you get a cornea transplant.

This song sounds uninspired and boring to me.
Kevin Cadogan was the mastermind behind 3EB's best music. When they fired him, the band went downhill.
wow the new album stinks
