Chris, blessed to be part of your world 🙏
Was it you singing ? edited, ofc it was ! amazing performance !!
You elevate the track beyond the clouds, thank you.
🙏
You really brought this to the next level, thanks!
Well done! This is the first risk of rain song with vocals that I know of, and you absolutely killed it!
holy shit, Chris.
Hey its the guy from the youtube
Well I'll be damned, I was just about to watch one of your videos
“If coalescence 2 is so good, where’s coalescence 3??”
Chris: well about that…
I can’t wait holy shit
Yo I dont get it could you explain
@@deltaplains6195 coalescence is the most popular track on the risk of rain soundtrack, and a common joke on the internet is ‘if x is so good, where is x 2?’
Then risk of rain 2 came out, and con lentitud poderosa is essentially a sequel to coalescence, so coalescence 2.
This is the third version of coalescence, hence coalescence 3.
@@GreetingsInferiors thanks for the explaination
Ohhhhh... thats why that is familat@@GreetingsInferiors
A tale of two brothers, forever at odds.
A tale of victims, caught in the crossfire.
A tale of tragedy, drenched in rain.
Damn. Thats powerful
If only there was rain…
no rain but plenty of my fucking tears bro
@@CyberCat45 theres a risk of it
I love when Commando went :" Gee Captain, there truly was a risk of rain"
Literal chills
And then Captain was like "Let's Return this Coalescence then" and proceeded to rain on every risk with his artillery. Such a masterpiece
@@konstantinmilyutin1190 dont forget the bit were Commando says afterwards "Wow this Risk of Rain is not letting up, this looks like a Monsoon" and absolutely commanded all over the ship
@HazelEpicFunny straight up cried at that one.....
Commando's iconic "Maybe the Risk of Rain is the rocket launcher drones we made along the way..." will always send shivers down my spine 🥶
Who could forget the start of the game too where the captain saw the moon and was like: "Wow, I bet that thing would make a crazy Eclipse, right the Commando?"

HE DID IT HE SAID THE THING
Chance for Rain Returns
AND HIS MUSIC IS STILL ELECTRIC RAAAAAAAAAAAAH
HE GOT THAT COMICALLY SIZED UKELELE
The seeds of these tunes were planted when I was little playing the initial release of RoR, for them to be ignited with the release of RoR2 - thanks Chris and Hopoo for these memorable experiences!
You are very welcome! Thank you for the support
While very different from the original, it still captures that somber feeling. This one really feels like a celebration of ten years of risk of rain, got me right in the feels
I like how our boy chris used all of the other traks of both games to compose this amazing track
Well, no one was using the stems the way I intended them to be used so I did it myself.

Good...😢 Wonderful
@@AstronautDownYou absolute legend
@@AstronautDown I am so happy you did this!
Today is a good day to be a risk of rain fan
Amen🙏
How did you comment 5 hours before release?
@@pleck7059A premiere, probably.
Twas
The Ukulele at the start, and then the hit of vocals. The solemn start, towards a tune all too familiar. Both Maria and Chris have really returned a familiar feel to Coalescence
Is it a Ukulele? It could be a bouzouki
All stringed instruments in the first part are different types of ukuleles, even the bass. And all are played by Maria.
@@AstronautDownI’m wondering.
What did you actually do with this track then?
Did Maria do it all and then you mixed it?
Edit: Oh nevermind.
The beat just dropped and suddenly there’s a lot more than a ukulele that is electric.
@@AstronautDownyou are gonna need a bigger ukulele for do all of these😉
@@nicholasgroumbos8042do you not play the game? Ukulele is a vital piece of Risk of Rain
I literally stood still during the credits. 1000+ hours put into the franchise, and so much time has passed. Even on the rainiest of days, there is always the warm embrace of music.
That’s over a month of your life.
Well spent, if I do say so myself.
Found you.
grrrrr@@Solargress
@@MoaiGaming1in terms of hours played, I’ve spent 154 days in minecraft. I now rarely play it.
Is that the legendary Apaolo Music Vids i see here ⏿⌣⏿
It the motif, even small callbacks are enough to drive the fanbase wild. Maria has a heavenly voice, would love to listen to more of her work.
Man first the remaster and then this. Every single version of Coalescence is different but they all give this beautiful sense of melancholy that fits so well with the ending of such an intense game. Thank you Chris, none of the games would have been the same without your music.
I am so glad they made a game based on your music, bless.
real lucky how the game fits the music so well
"Coalescence" was the sound of seeing blood on your hands
"...con lentitud poderosa" was the sound of realizing that it can't be washed away
This is the sound of the bloodbath surrounding you
The sound of realizing you lost your humanity, and none of it was your fault. Just a tragedy silenced in the rain that followed.
Chris....what the heck....how do you do it every single time. I don't know how you make me feel so many emotions at once with each and every track you put out. Every song you make is just so beautiful, they tell a story and always feel atmospheric. I can't wait to get all the vinyl albums, please don't ever stop making music.
Thank you so much!
In the words of the credits, "I still can't believe where we are". To be perfectly honest, I can't either. You and Hopoo together have created some of the most influential art I have ever experienced. Thank you for doing what you love and doing it well, Chris.
the feeling of finality from this track is beautiful, the perfect sendoff for a decade of rain
I pre-order the vinyl for this game knowing I wouldn't be disappointed but HOLY F&$K this track made me forget to breathe. I have to give my thanks to you Chris, to the all of the composers the have worked alongside you to make this fantastic soundtrack and to everyone at Hopoo Games for making this amazing game we all love.
Thank you so much for the support! Enjoy the vinyl!
The final roar of downpour before the puddle of rain evaporates, fading as fast as it had appeared and leaving all of us with one final question: "Will it return?". Thank you Chris for everything. Nothing can express the gratitude I have for you, and all I can do is continue practicing, hoping to become as good as composition as you are.
I come back to this song again and again.
It's beautiful, like pure emotion.
Feels like the culmination of both games, the end of their stories, the credits of it's tragedy.
If there's one thing that keeps me hooked on these games it's most certainly the music.
Thank you Chris, this universe wouldn't be the same without it.
Man, this will be huge, already hyped for the game and the dlc finally showing up on console and now this? Being a ror fan has never been so good, thank you all at hopoo and you Chris for making my life happier in some way.
I remember absolutely adoring the original Coalescence. It was by far my favorite song, and the favorite of so many others.
We all absolutely adored Con Lentitud Poderosa, as it was a reimagining of the song we all held so close. It was Coalescence 2.
And now, it comes full circle. Between Coalescence and Surface Tension, I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to hear the ost for a game in my life.
I don’t even need to hear the song to say this: Absolutely astounding job, Chris, you absolute fucking legend. Gonna tremble as I absorb the power of godly music.
and so he left, ukulele in hand, forging onward, forever...
amazing as always Chris. thank you for all you have given to this community. cant wait to see what you cook up in Seekers of the Storm! keep that electricity flowing dude!
And his music was electric... thank you to you and everyone at hopoo for creating my hands down favorite game series to exist. Be very proud of what you made. Much love
2:04 The first time a song, or any piece of media for that matter, has given me chills. F'ing incredible.
I've never been disappointed by any release from you Chris. Props to you for always delivering awesome stuff.
To think that you created a song more powerful than Coalescence and Con Lentitude Poderosa is almost impossible to fathom. You are legend among composers and musicians, and the classic roots and music theory behind your soundtracks puts you amongst some of the most prolific music writers of all time. There is no adequate amount of words to describe a song that you can *physically feel* in your chest.
And the fact that you have DOZENS of sounds in your catalogue that carry this level of power... genuinely, thank you for sharing your gift and hard work with the world.
This goes so hard.
I know I've said this multiple times over the last few years on different videos but your music is truly phenomenal. From your Risk of Rain, to DEADBOLT to Gospels it's all incredible and means so much to me. Since I first heard con lentitud poderosa it completely changed how I thought about music, inspiring me to learn piano and so much more. Thank you :)
I played this game back in the summer of high school. This game single handedly stole my attention. Occupied my mind and in the end won a piece of my heart along with it.
this comment made me a little teary eyed. I relate heavily.
Chirs you did a amazing job! Your music is incredible once again thanks for being good and cool cheers from Brazil!
Thank you! Much love to Brazil
Man, I aspire to write stuff 1/10th as good as Coalescence. 2 more freakin' hours.
It's even better the second time.
I cried
I'm absolutely stunned by this song. One of the greatest piece of art I ever listened. Thanks Chris and Maria, you both are incredibles and I can't wait to hear more from you both ! If one day I have the chance to direct my movie my dream is to have Chris as composer of the soundtrack ahah. By the way, what does she says at the beginning ?
Thank you! The words at the start is Maria saying "let's take it one more time".
I played on stream. Just finished that intense boss fight against Providence. Then this beautiful version of Coalescence in the credits. It took me by surprise. I had goosebumps and I teared up. Risk of Rain has been a comfort game of mine for a long time and I am so incredibly happy about Risk of Rain returns. Thanks for these Masterfully remastered pieces of music!
I've been going back to the original Coalescence for years, due to it being associated with cherished memories from before the world became so confusing and chaotic, and just listening to the newest rendition brought many of those memories back. Thank you both for your wonderful work, and thank you Hopoo, for making such a wonderful series to get lost in.
Blessed be thy name, for thoust shall live for a thousand years.
Im so glad that i experienced it in-game first, literally gave me chills, thank you so much for making this, Chris, u fucking music genius
I've been listening to Coalescence for 10 years now. ...con lentitud poderosa with it since it released three years ago. Both songs have accompanied me through many times and growth. And this third iteration over Coalescence touches me so deeply, I can't find words to express it still.
Thank you Chris 🙇♂
I wanna cry, this is one of the most emotional, most beautiful, most thought-provoking pieces I've heard. Its somberness evokes so much emotions.
Glad to have been there when this was revealed.
Chris i want to personally thank you because your music got me through some very heavy stuff in my life, and i want you to know it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Please never stop, and good luck with future projects!!
Listening to this when there's a storm outside and you can smell the rain >>>>>>>>>>>>
You two outdid yourselves. It truly feels like a tribute, an homage to the series. At the same time, its unlike anything we've ever heard in the risk of rain musicverse. Incredible.
To be honest, I don't think I've ever cried to any piece of media. But when that Ukelele, the item ive been seeing, using loving, and respecting for over 3 years since I got Risk of Rain 2, finally hit, along with the beautiful vocals during the end credits, I couldn't contain myself.
This is the most beautiful rendition of Coalescence, and feels like a proper sendoff to not just Risk of Rain 1, but to the franchise as a whole, signifying the beginning of a new era.
Bravo Chris. You've made an already excellent game into a masterpiece.
Listening to this after learning about all of the Risk of Rain lore is a pain I never knew I could feel for a fictional story.
Your work is always a marvel Chris.
And so... His music was electric. Chris, your song for the original Coalescence transfixed me at the end of each Risk of Rain 1 run throughout college. This is no different, blown away and in awe. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the world.
Literally chills listening to this. I've never heard something with so much soul in my life...
Thank you so much to the both of you. Chris for the original tidbits, and Maria for the phenomenal vocals. May the rain bring the both of you joy.
i love coming back to these songs, also big fan of how this ends with ... leading into ...con lentitud poderosa
Risk of Rain music has been the only thing to make me cry in years
Their names are exactly the same length, absolutely golden
I have called Risk of Rain Chance of Precipitation for literal years, this is the greatest vindication of my life
Got reccomended the OST a few years ago by a randomly generated playlist and ever since this game has been one of my favourite game series and you have been one of my favourite composers. i dont have much words to put into thought but man you really do sound justice with this stuff.
Honestly my new favorite track from the entire series, you outdid yourself Chris!
at 2:23 there is flute which sounds really similar to the flute in The rain formerly known as purple min 6:43. I don't know if its a motif or something, it could be-
I use the same sounds all over both games to maintain uniformity.
Heard there was a special treat at the end.
Finally trudged my way through the first playthrough.
What a ride, and I’m so glad I got to experience it organically rather than run into it here or elsewhere first. Today has been great. 🥰
Coalescence is the realization that there is blood on your hands.
...Con Lentitud Poderosa is the realization that the blood on your hands can never be washed away.
Coalescence Returns feels like the somber realization of the monster you have become, the blood not only on your hands but all over your body, you may have been able to escape but at what cost. Your body may have been able to leave, but your humanity has surely been left behind.
truly a beautiful song.
I was quite literally shaking when I first heard this, you did an amazing job Chris.
Truly a coalescence of Risk of Rain's best. Your did yourself Chris and the vocals themself are beautiful. (Also did you do the weather forcast or was that a recording from an actual weather forcast lol).
It's an actual forecast from ten years ago recorded with the intention to go into Chanson d'Automne. Never made it back then but here we are.
i think i just had a religious experience
This just feels like a massive love letter to your previous, wonderful, work. The somber tone building into that incredible drop, the bits of what I believe is The Rain Formerly Known as Purple, our man Chris does not miss, and Maria with him! You two definitely found the bigger ukulele.❤
It's a love letter to the community really. Thank you for the support over the years
Can't stop crying a bit every time I listen again (and again (and again)) to this song. This builds so much on my memories with the original Risk of Rain and later with RoR2...
We played the first one as a tradition on New Year's with my friends at the Uni... Years later I moved to another country but we would gather again and play RoR2. Now, only one of those friends is there to play RoR Returns with me, but the music brings me back...
Thank you Chris!
Coalescence is the song that stuck with me the most from Risk of Rain. All of the songs were fantastic but that one was so haunting and atmospheric. This version is just as magical to me.
Hats off to you!
Back at it with another beautiful track. His music truly is electric
This makes me feel some strong emotions...
It rained, with powerful slowness...
So breathtaking, so important
Always reminds me that I can cry.
I refused listening to it via any streaming device before actually hearing it ingame... man was it worth it.
As always Chris, you nail the music better than anyone. Also a fantastic job on these vocals, this combo of artists nails this perfectly.
There just do be a chance for precipitation.
Dude from the beginning of it all your music made me fall in love with this series! ❤ keep up the amazing work!
My favorite piece from the original, remade... outstanding work again, Chris
i wasnt expecting to be brought to tears listening to this.
I love the concept behind this version of Coalescence, and I _adore_ Maria Papageorgiou's performances here. I was worried I'd be too much of a "Christodoulou purist" when it came to the songs with guest stars, but this one definitely showed me how you might just be at your best when you're working with yet another insanely talented person.
I would _love_ to see more collaborative works between you and other musicians in the future, because this one I think is the best on the new soundtrack.
Honestly the drop stunned me it was beautiful
Thank you Chris for everything
Definitely nominating this game for best score. This is some god tier noise right here
Love the somber voice. Almost like it's singing a Lullaby
This really does feel like the end of a chapter for Risk of Rain. The last track of the last game, heralding the end of the Hopoo era for Risk of Rain. While I'm not sure if you're working on Seekers of the Storm tracks, I feel satisfied having Risk of Rain's music conclude with this.
It's melancholic, nostalgic, and beautiful, taking from the two most iconic tracks from the first game to create something very monumental, yet somber.
Over the past two years, I have fallen in love with Risk of Rain's soundtrack, from the first game to Survivors of the Void, and this one feels like the emotional climax of it all. A decade long celebration of one of the most unique and beloved OSTs in the indie realm.
Where we go from here, only time (and Gearbox) will tell.
Whatever the case, we shall brave the storm... for his music was electric.
He's working on the music for Seekers of the Storm actually
It's. just. so. beautiful.
This is the first song in my life where my mouth fell open. the literal shockwave of nostalgia as the beat dropped...shivers.
outstanding work.
Whenever I listen to this OST, no matter how many times, this song will always bring a chance of precipitation. Thank you Chris.
Actually tearing up over this, gods this series holds such a special place in my heart. This song is beautiful
You really knocked it out of the park coming back to this soundtrack. I can't wait for another album commentary!
This song and also yes u to Chris are a universal treasure
Beautiful
4:37 Is that the synth from Cyclogenesis in the background??
After ten long years, we finally have it
COALESCENCE THREE
This made me tear up, beautiful. Your music is legendary.
Once again, you have put chills into my spine. Time to listen to the rest of the ost too until I can pick up a copy myself. Cheers to 10 years, looking forward to the next 10 years of your music, whatever it may be.
This song gives me life. Thank you Chris for the EXCELLENT soundtrack! I love Maria's vocals in this and love when songs do that "insert radio clippings or a relevant voice line from something else here". That's gotta be one of my favorite tropes.
Embarrassing but I literally cried to this. Love you Chris
Not embarrassing. This was made so we can all cry together.
I loved when the rain risked and returned all over the place
Absolutely stunning
Man i think ima cry, this music is way too good for us
this is one of the best things that has ever blessed my ears, i felt an emotion i didn't even know existed nor do i have a name for when i heard this after beating the game
Thank you for what you’ve done, Mr. Christodoulou.
It’s true. You do *not* miss. Never have, never will.
Adding this to the playlist for my Stormherald barbarian, her rage is a calm and cheerful singing one... She's usually very well mannered- her voice calming like this song, even while enraged she sings like a siren... But when that storm comes- oh boy.... will this fit her. Even the calmest storm can scream.
"And so,the Rain returns, risking it yet again..."
-Providence,risk of Rain returns
Hearing all the little motifs makes me calm and warm inside. I missed the initial release because i was in the hospital and this has made discharge so much better.
Your music IS wonderful
