man, Chris' 2013 Surface Tension has been my favorite track for the longest time, but I agree with some that it is basic while it can be understandable (it's something how i feel about the music), but this made me hit that like button within the 10 second mark, and this track is now how I EXACTLY feel fighting hordes of enemies, like the original track has awakened it's true potential. Thanks for this remaster man!

God bro this version goes so fucking hard. It made Surface Tension honestly shoot up to be one of my favorite tracks of the game. When I heard this playing yesterday as I played with my friends I was like "Holy shit wait this song goes so fucking hard."

fully 100%ed RoR1, one of my favourite games of all time. First run of Returns where I got up to Temple, so many explosions were going off at once I didn't really notice the new music... then 2:03 hit. Jaw dropped immediately

It's hard to describe how this song makes me feel, but if I had to, it feels like biting a slice of pineapple, and I love pineapple.
Fell in love with this track from the moment i heard it in the drifter announcement trailer, so you can only imagine my reaction when this started playing in game, i don't think i ever said "HOLY SHIT" that loud before. AMAZING work from Damjam!

To me the original still has a place, the inmediate fast pacing it acompanies to the teleporter activation is unique in the soundtrack.
I can describe this one in one sentence: "New current objective: SURVIVE". The amount of adrenaline and hype this gives me every time it hits is unreasonable...this is destined to be a banger. Thanks Chris 🥲🫡

I've been waiting for this one to drop since I heard it in the Drifter trailer!! You and Damjan did an absolutely phenomenal job remixing this track! Easily one of my new favorites in the franchise!
THIS IS THE SONG. Each time i got to this stage I felt so MOTIVATED during the teleporter boss. That lead bend up to the final note is flawless!
Way too fitting for teleporter music on stage 5. It has that exact "penultimate" feel to it, somehow.
DMJ was the same guy who made the soundtracks for the Serious Sam series!
Surface Tension has lived in my head and in many of my personal playlists for over a decade. It's definitely my favorite song from the original game. I just picked up ROR Returns from the Spring Sale and heard this for the first time. Thank you so much for the original piece, Chris. And thank you Damjan for this awesome adaptation!
The progression and build up on this track is freaking incredible. The goosebumps hit every time at the end when the drumming goes full rip around 2:55

Good lord. When I heard this song on the 5th stage before the contact light. I was like "Holy shit, this song is GOOD!" And I finally decided to search for the song out of curiosity. And now I am going to be listening to this on repeat for a while
I love this track! I haven't played Risk of Rain Returns yet, but I've enjoyed any time I can get with my friends and play RoR2, and we always rave about how good the music is! I was listening to the music recently separately, and I'm now stuck listening to this one on repeat!

I wish this music was used in the final boss, it would have been perfect there as the last thing you hear. But getting to hear it every loop is not a bad thing either. Amazing job guys

I can't believe how many times my jaw dropped listening to this for the first time.
I played rorr for the first time yesterday and this song started playing and me and my friend stopped just to listen to it before we went to pummel providence into the dirt, and we kinda just sat there in awe. A couple of minutes ago I went to go listen to the original cause it's been a while since I heard it and honestly wanted to cry while listening to it.
ror1 surface tension instruments make it so somber, and desolate feeling. You're still fighting for your life but it hits you in the feels.
rorr surface tension instruments is you on a god run about to make providence wish he sent even more things to kill you.
The power both versions hold is really strong, and I'm so fucking happy that this music even exists.

I kind of like that this is very clearly taking the original in a different direction - the original Surface Tension is pretty much perfect for what it is, albeit... maybe a little TOO mellow and low-energy for an early-stage boss theme. Trying too hard to improve upon the original would probably have resulted in something weaker by the comparisons it would inevitably invite, so a more up-tempo iteration with a guest composer was probably the best way to go anyway - this nailed that, honestly. Surface Tension is a good song, Surface Tension Returns is also a good song.

I was looking for this song for so long after I heard it in game, for some reason I didn’t consider to check the “return” songs cuz I thought they were just Especially Good Remasters but GOD this song ROCKS! This made me love this song, I love all the songs from risk of rain but there were a lot I liked more than surface tension, now this song is one of my favorites haha

When I heard Risk of Rain Returns wasin development I instantly thought of what you said in your commentary. Even after you said you'd leave the music reletively untouched, I knew you'd come back to this song. And then you went full on collab instead.
