There are 2 mistakes in this video!!! 1: I miscalculated how many crystals Jinx held. 1 exploded, 4 were in her suit case, and 1 is missing. It is unlikely the last one would be in the bag in the water. 2: Even though Vi technically didn't know where to find Vander's message because Ekko only spied on the initial conversation, she HAD to be the one who alerted the enforcer to sacrifice herself because of the like "how did you find me" at the beginning of episode 3.
Jinx has tear streaks at the beginning of the video, so I'm pretty sure at some point she was crying. Not to mention that woman looks exactly like Jinx so it had to be her parent...
I really love when Viktor was a kid he couldn’t run after the boat, but later on on that scene where he’s running by the water you can see that he runs past a boat in the background. Really epic :)
I believe Powder doesn't cry because she's too small. Children process grief differently because they don't quite understand death. She's affected more by Vi's tears than by the rest. One of my friends tragically lost her husband and father of her two children, one of them a three year old toddler and she would actually alternate between consoling everyone and crying asking for her dad who was, well, absent.
yeah, Powder wasn't actively crying given how young she was but you could see tear stains on her face the first couple seconds of the shot, Powder was too young to process it all.
Ekko's first line in the series was "Give me a few seconds" also Powder mentions she wanted to ride in one of those airships, and we saw here in one of them on act 2 trailers. Also the mundo "Injured on an Airship" poster might reference something that will happen in said airship ?
"Jinx wasn't crying"? You can see the "riverbeds" the tears left behind on her dirt covered face. She cried a whole lot. Vi is the one that only now starts crying.
I mean she was young so I'd assume she would've been crying out of fear, but she didn't start crying again/seem to have a strong emotional reaction to Vi's parents dying.
That's a strange way of dismissing Vi's reaction. It's that classic 'cover your eyes and sing a song' so Powder won't see the awful things Vi is witnessing. And he's right. She was far less upset. Crying from the war and destruction. But the mothers death did not affect her as much as Vi. I noticed that too. Its also because shes so young. Shes too young to process whats really going on. At least thats what I first thought when I watched it the first time. Rewatching... I think its a hint to her mental state. Her attachment to Vi. I think even at that young of an age Vi calmed her down when her mental issues started showing.
She doesn't start crying at the sight of her dead mom. She cries sympathetically after Vi starts doing it too. Her attachment issues also suggest not the best of early childhoods, even before the opening, so I think he might be right about what he was implying. She also doesn't really show any signs of true empathy towards anyone but Vi and later Silco.
When Milo says that he'll blow up an airship one day, he does some finger guns with a "pow" sound. Jinx later on does the EXACT same things, hinting at how Milo still "lives" in her head
the shot where vi saw the blood of her sister powder on her palms after the slap and then she turns her hand to see the blood of the other bad people she fought earlier on her knuckles made her realize that her violence doesnt distinguish family from enemy and then she broke down, that shot alone made me realize how hard they have been working on this masterpiece of a show.
@@gdiddy8800 thankyou for the reply ^^, i think it is gonna catch with non league players too, riot would be foolish if they didnt realize the show could be an advertisement to the game, however the players that been playing the game for a long time are gonna get a totally different experience since we grew up with these characters and now it is our time to see them grow up while facing all these life hurdles, you get to see that "dead" character you used to control with a mouse and a keyboard actually coming to life and feel sad when they cry or happy when they rejoice, something truely valuable, thats why written lore alone isnt enough to give a meaning to a character.
@@gdiddy8800 yup i dont play the game, but im obsessed with the show and want to know more about the whole story! would play it, but im more into rpgs like Witcher, Skyrim and so on, so LoL is really not my.. well, game. But it got my respect!
Vander never intended to let Vi get taken. When he sees the bunny, Vi's bunny, that someone threw onto some pipes and had been stuck there for years, he realizes Vi must have gotten it down to give to Jinx to remember her by. In other words, Vi was saying goodbye/turning herself in.
When Jinx is blown back by the bomb blast it mimics when Silco is floating through the water. It stands for the destructive moment that changed them. They’ve been really heavy with the parallels with Jinx and Silco
That scene where VI and Jinx got in confrontation after Vander's death was god tier. The culmination of her trauma was portrayed so good. The facial expression of someone confused, the twitching, her body language hits so hard I was in awe and sad at the same time i had to replay that scene a couple of times. I sincerely hope that the animation team got paid extra.
Even though I have watched all of season 1 prior to watching this, I feel like jinx hair should be considered. When jinx was young, she had one braid. As she got older, she has split twin braids. I think this is a representation of her splitting between powder, and her newer self, jinx. Far stretch probably, hair changes in cinematic always had a reference. Keep in mind, vi never changed her hairstyle. It was always short and partly shaved.
Later in episode 6, the scene where Caitlyn was healing Vi's stab wounds with shimmer, Vi sees a hallucination of their late mother, who had two braids. I do think that two braids very much resemble Jinx's split personality too. Also, Jinx never cuts her hair so it just grows. In modern culture and some older beliefs hair is associated with past energies and memories, so cutting or dyeing it gets rid of those, like a new start. Jinx is very much stuck in her past traumas. Here's some other hair references from history: Samurais cut their hair only if they brought dishonour. Indians cut the top of the head of their victims to bring honour home. Indians had long hair because of their ties to nature and supernatural energies. And tale of Samson from the Bible: he lost his powers when his hair was cut. Also in Game of Thrones, Daenerys added a braid for every war victory (honoring late husband's Dothraki beliefs).
wait that's a great theory I think in the last episode even though she still had two braids you tied them together at the top so it looks like the two became one and she chose Jinx
@@dakotarae159 I mean, it also seems to be naturally blue. Maybe some of the pollution in the Undercity makes hair grow different colors and/or faster.
You missed one out, when Silco has Vander captured, after he tells him “I’ll show you what you truly are” there’s a sound cue like the one from Warwick’s passive when he’s hunting
I still tear up everytime I see silco trying to comfort jinx. It definitely doesn't feel like he's trying to manipulate her but rather to empathize with her because he went through the same pain.
It's fucking great. Silco is a product of the world around him just like every other character in the show. He isn't some unreasonably evil for the sake of evil he's a fully dimensional character with not just goals, but dreams and pain just like a hero. He's extremely misguided of course tho but it's quite understandable given the world they live in.
uuuuuuh I have to disagree. Silco gives off the vibes of "I'll do anything to get what I want". he even outright SAYS that when he says "power comes to those who will do anything to achieve it". He is a sociopathic manipulator. he wasn't trying to comfort jinx. jinx may have felt that way, but that's just silco manipulating her. Clearly he's going to use Jinx to further his plot of taking over zaun and going to war with piltover. Silco doesn't give off any sort of human emotion to me. maybe in the past. but in arcane, he's already a mentally broken man. he doesn't care about jinx one bit. he only cares about furthering his own plans.
@@TheKayasto He's a product of their society. Yes, he's a piece of garbage...but I genuinely believe he's being genuine. He seems like the type to assist orphans that are troubled
@@TheKayasto he looked very shocked when he realized that jinx's sister left her and couldve had flashbacks to when his own brother left him. Believe what you want but it really doesnt seem that way
Same, I personally sympathize with Silco and agree with him. But I usually find myself relating to the grey area moral villains in media...hopefully that doesn't mean anything.
7:11 the pipe doesn’t work as a telescope. It just makes it easier for jinx to see the spots that Vi is pointing out to her. Like it targets a specific location over a huge area. It doesn’t magnify anything just circles it
To add to that: A pipe will block out other light falling in your eye, resulting in a sharper image of what you look at. There is also something going on with our human brain using its resources more effective on a smaller image. You can easily test out the sharpness effect with your hand, but a long pipe will have a greater effect.
I think the explanation was that you only let light that is going straight into your eye. Since seeing poorly has to do with your eyes bending the light too much or too little, if you only let light that is going in a straight line, it doesn't bend, therefore you see! (Yeah, I'm fun at parties)
About Vander and Silco. At the end, Silco says "Hello little girl, where is your sister ?" Jinx jump on him and he is shocked by her reaction. Jinx then answers "She left me" At this instant, Silco expression changes radically, he stops to be shocked and he looks at vander with a contemplative and reminiscent air. Then Jinx adds "She is not my sister anymore." And at this instant, Silco expression changes again, he as faint movement of eyes and head, like these words go right into him, and then take a sad face and look at jinx like he "realized" something. That's when he hug her and reassure her. I think like you said, it's a parallel of what happened between Silco and Vander in the past, Silco was devastated and shocked at the time by his Brother treason, and Jinx is just the same before his eyes, about her own sister. Could be an additionnal hint about some brotherly link between Vanders and Silco. And the parallel with strong big sibling (Vanders/Vi) versus younger cunning sibling (Silco, Powder) is oddly similar.
this explanation is so perfect! I knew there was a logical reason Silco decided to take Jinx in but I couldn't see it. But I also think they aren't actually related but just used to be very close friends
14:33 I don't think Vander was going to let Vi turn herself in. He looked liked he just realized what Vi was going to do when he saw Jinx with Vi's stuff toy
Vander must have known since the wardens recived the tube he possessed. Vi did hear about it from Ekko, so she culd have send it herself. But Vander wuld have checked if it is still there once he realised her plan if he wouldnt have known about it.
@@Necrit I don't think Vander who risked his life to save vi from a fire and told them to keep low and practically raised her was going to just let her be captured
@@Necrit And what about Ekko telling Vi about Vander's deal with the wardens, then Vi takes the tube and tell them that she is gonna be in the store so they can take her into prison Also when Vander and Vi talk about responssbility he never implies that Vi has to go to jail, he even said that he will figure out something
I thought Jinx put all the stolen hex crystals in her pocket, there wasn't any crystal in the bag that she threw into the river. Also, Vi volunteered to get captured by the Wardens, Vander didn't sell her out.
Aw crap. I forgot to mention it after I mentioned the 6 crystals in the box. After that point we only saw Jinx with 3 crystals. 1 exploded and 2 are missing.
Ok, but Claggards broken goggles match the ones perfectly in Ekkos cinematic. I am pretty sure that it end up implying Ekko tried to go back for Claggard. Also, Claggard was the one that talked to Ekko earlier, which could imply he was closest with Ekko than the other kids.
1:20 i'm pretty sure jinx didn't cry because she was too young to understand the situation, she was looking at Vi's reactions rather than react herself
what i've noticed tho is that the parents, especially the mother, looks A LOT like jinx, facewise. you can even see her hair being blue-ish, maybe even purple which would be an interesting combination since vi's hair is pink/magenta and jinx's is blue/azure. plus, jinx might not have cried due to shock and fear. children that young can't quite understand the situation and it takes some time for them to realize or even digest such traumatic events. so i do think they are blood related!
I kind of disagree with understanding. But more like it’s a terrible type of understanding. Tbh maybe that’s why she was getting crazy and Vi leaving her was the last straw. As it was shown, well srl tiny bits, she was unstable before that moment. I’m the end psyche doesn’t break right away. It is a process. So seeing dead parents is a pretty good start. Living such live is not helpful either. Well some are genetically more probable to break mentally, so I guess living conditions could be enough. Still I think the idea of seeing dead parents, vander and friends then Vi leaving is more probable.
I thought they were blood related but there was one scene (sorry i cant remember which one) but Vi was talking to Jinx and said "when MY parents died." Seemed off to me. Might be how I talk but I never say "my parents" when talking to my siblings
@@SamJones-oo3lc Yeah Vi always said ‘my parents’ even when talking to Jinx or talking about Powder and herself to Caitlyn later on so I’m confused if they’re blood related or not
@@SamJones-oo3lc ah i never caught that🤔. I figured they are actually related cuz of the last ep where Jinx is freaking out and Vi goes "remember who you used to be! Remember mom! Dad!" (I'm paraphrasing lol)
@@JigokuHebi with Mylo's incessant criticism and no one else bringing up how she helped by making that boxing and shooting range, she would've grown up with some mental health issues like an inferiority complex or something. and the fact that they're all growing up in a poor, environmentally-concerning city that gets stomped on by Piltover would also affect her mentally too.
7:10 A pipe actually can be used as a telescope of sorts, technically it isn't making anything bigger, but it is helping your eyes focus on something specific
The child hood innocents of powder clutching her rabbit and excitedly telling vi that it work made me tear up. Then when she’s crying out I love how she try’s to say Vi but also drops the nickname to say her real name in order to get her sister to come back. ALSO I LOVE when jinx is hugging silco, he’s not sure what to do but he glances up to see vandor what used to be his sudo brother figure and for a moment he saw himself in her so he embraced her and said everything will be okay.
There is a huge mistake in this video. Vander 100% didn't know about Vi turning herself in. 1. Ekko told Vi everything. So Vi knew about the message that would reach the enforcers. 2. The Series makes a specific scene to show us, that Vander is putting that Message away. So he doesn't have it and Vi could take it. 3. In the talk on the Bridge, Vander says after Vi's question, what they should do, that he doesn't know but he figures it out. You can see Vi her face changes, that she knows, she has to do something. 4. Vanders Face has clearly a point of realisation, what Vi is doing after looking at the puppet. Also quick Edit. Vi is even saying "How did you find me?". If Vander would know about it, Vi would not say that. So no, Vander wasn't on board with Vi giving herself in. It wouldn't make any sence for his character.
theres mistakes all over. For example the cupcakes thing. The cupcakes were on a random balcony they jumped from, not from the Laboratory balcony which belongs to the Kirramans. He doesnt just MISS stuff, he MISINFORMS. Which is weird since hes the one who claims these things as facts and is the ''lore guy'' of LoL. I almost never watch his videos on lore because of all his mistakes. Just read the lore on your own its way better without his guesses that he espouses as facts.
Hey Necrit! There is one that you missed. In episode 1, when Kids return from the fight, before they enter the elevator just at the moment Mylo says "I get my face bashed in and she just gets a pass?" you can see a frame picture in the background with Gentleman Cho'gath.
@@somebrid2147 I disagree, I Like those easter eggs. They aren't obvious and big enough to be immersion-breaking or anything, but are nice little nods that can make you chuckle
14:33 ...I disagree, I don't think he was aware of what was about to happen. He would've never let Vi give herself up to them. He saw how sad Powder was, then saw that she held Vi's rabbit...and only then realized what she was about to do. His face says it all.
One thing I thought was really cool attention to detail: Jayce's mom has mechanical fingers because she lost them to frostbite. I was watching with a friend and went, "where did her fingers go?" and then immediately followed it up with, "ohh, the snowstorm."
I think they're just prosthetic, not mechanical. They don't actually move or do anything, they're just covering the amputations and allow her to use her hand almost normally.
Jayce and Victor create the basis for both the ‘Timewinder’ (When the window blows but then reverses, and ‘Parallel Convergence’ (time bubble you float around in). Both later to be used by Ekko.
Dunno about the time reversal thing. It seems more like it blew it up, and sucked it back in like a vacuum. Jayce was hit by a glass fragment, which can't really happen if it was doing anything along the lines of reversing time.
This show is good as a casual viewer, this show is AMAZING if you’re a league fan. This only proves my hypothesis that everything riot makes that isn’t league is great.
As a totally new person to league and it's lore, I finished Act 1 thinking it was the best thing I've seen this year. After reading up on some of the lore and watching a few videos, like this, on easter eggs or speculation it has elevated it to probably one of my favourite series of all time. I am so very eager to watch the rest, and I hope they maintain this level of quality.
14:34 I'm pretty sure by his reaction (and that he tried to do everything to protect the kids), he didn't know VI was going to sacrifice herself... especially if she had to break into Benzo's shop.
Exactly. Also, he picks up the rabbit and you can see he's trying to remember where it's from. Then it hits him, that vi finally got it down from where it was hanging and in that moment, he knows that she is gone.
@@lunavideos8579 YES why would she get the rabbit after all this time? so she could give it to powder as a goodbye gift, also representing her worst day, a nod to the conversation in the first episode. Pd: so how do we get Necrit to see this? lmao
Another thing about The scene with powder and Silco, the hug scene resembles the Fallen Angel painting with Lucifer, representing how Jinx fell from sanity/innocence
@@olivierlids5910 if you look at the Fallen Angel painting, and look in comparison towards the eyes and arms of the painting you can see a similarity to it and the scene where Powder is hugging Silco
One thing you missed: The mage is most likely Ryze in Human form. Or at a least Ryze is related to the mage who used a "Ryze ult" to save Jayce and his mother from the snow storm.
The purple chemical is called "Shimmer", and we knew about Shimmer for many many years. I don't know from where, but it's been on the wiki for as long as I can remember the Piltover and Zaun pages. And we also knew about Jinx likely being affected by Shimmer. In the wiki it said something like: Shimmer is a drug that is applied to the skin. It is characteristic for people that take Shimmer to have a weak physique, pale skin, red eyes and eyebags. Curiously enough, I can't find it on the wiki anymore. But when you google it, it still connects you to the wiki, so it used to be there, but was taken down.
Yes! I remember this as well. It was from a Riot red post many years back on the now-deleted LoL forum boards. There were a actually a lot of old Riot posts on the LoL forums and Reddit (now deleted for obvious reasons) about Jinx and Vi that alluded to the direction they were going with their origin story. I believe one of them was also that each of Jinx's guns have their own personality which is an aspect of her psyche that's now detached from her in her psychotic state. Fishbones is supposed to be her moral conscience, hence her in-game lines. Pow-Pow does not like to talk, and my speculation now that we know her previous alias is Powder, it could be its meant to represent her previously closed-off personality is now also detached for her. I cannot remember what ZAP was unfortunately. Maybe someone else knows? They also said that Ekko used to hang with jinx/vi's gang, but was much younger so wasn't actually apart of it, and he has his own gang after he gets older, and they stuck to that too. There were small hints along the way! Edit: Well not but a day later and Vi called jinx pow-pow. Looks like that is a thing too after all.
Actually, it's still available on the wiki! It's just under chemical alteration now! I had to look for it myself knowing that I had seen it before too!
It was likely retconned during the Quinn's Journal portion of League, wherein a lot of character lores changed, albeit slightly. It was suggested Jinx suffered from the least exposure to it, and that Warwick remembered her as "a little girl who was somewhere she had no business being", too. If theories or bread crumb trails are anything to go by, it would stand to reason that although Jinx does endure a massive heap of traumas, she retains some of her sanity growing up (revisiting the playground, scoring under Vi's name, etc.) but will likely be heavily impacted by the drug and need for validation or to fight back for her lost family.
You're totally right about the eyes being a motif! I just noticed that Silco's weird eye never shuts which is terrifying and also symbolizes that he keeps one eye open at all times after Vander betrayed him. In addition, I also think hands are a motif because we get many close up to them. Silco's hand when he touches Powder, the mage's hand, the mom's hand, and I'm sure there are more. I need to watch it a third time!!!
How could I have forgotten!?! Vi's hands are explicitly mentioned to represent violence and anger! and they are the first thing we see after the intro. (Yes, I started my third watch through)
@@DizzehxxMitizzeh42 Yes, that's the exact reason. But with additional nuance, he/she interpreted it that there is more to it than just a physical reason. Same way with the blood money shot.
There was one subtle reference I picked up on at the end of episode 1 where Vi and Powder are on the rooftop and Vi is talking about her favourite toy stuck in the piping. Vi says "I hoped that the wind... or a bird would knock it down..." with a subtle laugh to herself almost as if it was false hope. This could be a reference to Janna, who exists in Zaun and is still revered by a small number of people within the city. Her new lore also states that she can transform into a bird and can appear if one prays for her in a time of need. I could be wrong, but it felt like a nice little nod to her.
If that's true then Janna really needs to start pulling her weight around Zaun. Vi: Hey, I'm at risk of losing the only family I know and my city is on the brink of war because of me. I could really use your help." 🙏🏼 Janna: "Here's your smelly old doll back." 🌬 Vi: "Uh, I don't see how th-" Janna: "No need to thank me." 🕊 Vi: 🤨
Another one to add to the "Vander = Warwick" bucket: From WW's bio "He saw a bearded man reflected in the eyes of a beggar as he tore out his throat. The other man looked somber, somehow familiar; there were scars on his arms." Vander also happens to have a beard and scars on his arm.
@@madMILL3R no its because she searched the separate room with those crystals. those hex crystals are the only thing she herself collected. the bag with all the other stuff was thrown at her by vi later on, thats why the crystals were separate from the other loot.
@@DestronGaming1213 i mean, it is zaun. The one place that has been constantly been told to us by the lore that it is a complete shithole with many shady doings. Example A) Singed. Enough said
14:33 I thought Violet was going rogue and was planning on surrendering herself to The Topside when she got info from Little Man about Vanders deal with one of the Enforcers. and that Vander seeing Powder being depressed led to him piecing together what Vi was planning.
When Vi looks at her hand at the end of the third episode, it's also important to note that she pulled her hand away after getting Powder's blood on her hand. That was the first thing she noticed before looking at her bloody knuckles.
There is also the child's toy Mel chose to offer to the other counselor and she tells him it's for the sharpest minds, during the vote Mel influenced it thanks to this gift and later in episode 4 he didn't yet resolved the puzzle :)
I also find it interesting how in jinx’s music video, the last scene where the giant monkey crept behind her and then she points her weapon on it, it kinda symbolizes how the moment she killed her friends and lost everything was still haunting her all those times
Partly, but I think it's more so that Vi, knows Powder is looking at exactly the spot she means without alot of describing to take away from the story she is telling. The pipe is easier to guide than simply pointing.
Its also to emphasize that whatever else may be going on Powder and Vi are still children when it comes down to it. This is exactly the same type of thing that every kid has at some point or another when presented with a tube of some sort.
@@tormented_imp It's that awkward feeling in school, when you raise your hand, but the teacher picks someone different and this person says the exact same thing as you wanted to say and i'm incredibly sorry for that, cause it got me anxious every time
While Jayce was turning the knob during the experiment to stabilize the crystal, I think he was mimicking the movements of how the mage casted the teleportation using their wand. As you can probably see Jayce having flashbacks, trying to remember the movements during the experimentation scene.
The pipe isn't acting as a telescope, as in it isn't zooming in anything, but it does help with focus. A small aperture inscreases the focus of distant objects. People with poor eyesight (like me) can create a tiny ring with their fingers, and hold it up to their eye to try read things just out of focus normally.
the guy who got kicked out of the bar, (and is also seen drunk on an airship in the beggining of the progress day episode) is one of the main producers of fortiche, the animation studio that created arcane.
7:51 I don’t think that this is the case. Think of it, Jayce and Caitlyn were arriving at the workshop just as the crystals went off. So Vi and the others were already inside. The things Milo took can’t be the same stuff that Cait and Jayce bring home. Edit: also - I don’t think jinx put any crystals into the bag with the rest of the loot. She put them into the small bag at her hip. So I don’t think there’s anything in the bag for Silco to find, but I’ll gladly be proven wrong.
During episode 3 when Jinx is left alone in the room she screams and cries in a psycho way. I think she always had some psychological problems, the events + the Shimmer will amplify them!
When the hexcrystals explode, Clagger is immediately killed while Milo gets pinned by a beam beside him. Milo starts to tug at the beam, but briefly stops struggling once he sees Clagger is dead.
"How does a pipe function as a telescope?" Well well well Necrit, your League lore is impeccable, but your IRL lore needs some work. It's called the Pinhole effect and while a pipe hole is a fair bit larger than a pinhole, the overall concept stays the same. By narrowing the field of view, the image you see becomes sharper because only light that is not focused directly into the opening is blocked. Furthermore, by using a tube-like object, the user can focus more of their attention on perceiving a single point, which will increase clarity as well. Granted, the crazy magnification effects shown in the show are an exaggeration - however, a pipe can certainly, in theory, serve as a makeshift optical enhancer.
It’s the same reason why people squint to see objects clearer. By squinting, the field of view narrows, sharpening objects in focus. Interesting how despite not knowing how this works, people still do it without thinking.
4:44 I'm pretty sure it's a model of Fortiche's CEO, I remember seeing a documentary about how Fortiche made Arcane and they showed little models of the CEOs that were sprinkled around for easter eggs.
I was recently playing Jinx in league of legends and noticed that her W ability looks a lot like the lazer/light Vi gave her before she left, saying that all she had to do was light it and Vi would find her.
Again, I still think vander must be Warwick as the end moment in the show perfectly matches his lore. On universe, warwicks last memory before singed is a little girl screaming something he thinks is a name. This perfectly parallels the end scene where jinx cries violet with vander right behind her.
Probably. We have too many hints already that Vander will become Warwick. Can't wait to see Singed's new lab and horrifyingly painful experiments with him. Even if he "died", I think we can assume they revived his corpse because the Shimmer (a lot of it) was still in his system and possibly healed him back so wasn't actually dead.
@@bazinga1847 Same. I didn't see her grab them when she left the scene though, so I wonder how she got them. Could also be a common model of goggles that she picked up a pair of in memory of him.
@@theKninja104 that's also possible. Or she might come back to that place later. It could be a raid with Piltover enforcement to take Silco down. Or anything of a kind, idk
Aside for Vander's grunts sound very much like Warwick's growls that I find so very neat, I also love the parallels of Silco and Powder's pivotal moments. Powder hugging Silco out of sheer desperation for comfort send me reeling with emotions. Then as she cried that Vi left and isn't her sister anymore Silco looked at Vander, reflecting his own betrayal from his brother. "She was betrayed too, just like me." There he deeply sympathizes with her with that sincere hug. That send me crying.
14:40 I thought Vander had actually just realized Vi was going to give herself up to the enforcers because he saw Jinx with the stuffed bunny, which Vander would likely know the story of. Vi would've given it to Jinx as something to remember her by as she wasn't going to see her again for a long time.
If you look back at warwick story, there is a part where it says " all he could remember is a girl screaming out a name" which matches pretty well with jinx screaming violet. Also would explain why warwick has the voice line "let me forget" when he mets jinx
Another awesome detail is that Powder's bomb at the end likely would have worked perfectly if she didn't put all 3 of the hex crystals in. As you watch all 3 fly off and do their seperate damage, one of which flew into the room with vander and the kids.
I don't feel like the reason only Vi was crying and Jinx wasn't when their parents died was because they aren't really biological sisters. I think that Jinx was just too young to understand/digest the situation and couldn't trully empathize with her sister yet. Some kids don't really understand what's going around them yet, like the heaviness of war, or their loved one passing away.
It hurts that they gave us so many unique characters that you got semi attached too (Milo, Clanger, Benzo, and esp Grayson) and then right as you get excited for what they might do with the characters and how they might affect the story they go and make sure they cant do anything. We had one episode of Grayson and I was already super excited for how she would be apart of the story. Little did I know.
Also the cupcakes wasn’t on jayce’s balcony, it was on a different. Ppl already pointed the bag mistake. Different interpretation: Vander and Vi situation. I interpreted that as him knowing she was going to give herself up only because Jinx had Vi’s old bunny and showed up looking miserable. I don’t think he knew before hand. Different interpretation: I don’t think he hinted at Silco being the leader, but rather Silco having the same relationship to him as Vi’s crew to her. “You say start a fire and they show up with oil.” The need to impress or perform up to Vi’s/Vander standards caused reckless or drastic behavior (maybe). Additional interpretation: Jayce’s machine, while they their floating, notice the thing he pushed through, when it passed through the field speed up to get to Viktor. Think it hints at the early stages of the acceleration gate. Also I think the owl mask hints at who’s riding the hoverboards later… I will not say who i think it is. Lastly, WHY DID NO ONE TELL POWDER THAT BOMBS KILL PEOPLE. She attempted to use a nail bomb to escape the guy chasing her. NAIL BOMB. Do you know how much damage that shit does to the human body?!
Yeah, about the last thing... it's just amazing how Vi is supporting Powder in constructing bombs, but no one seems to actually teach her to deal with explosives AT ALL! It's just "one day ot will work" bullshit. Thanks, sis, hope it doesn't blow this little self-made inventor first. Oh no! It did blew a couple of your friends. What a coincidence...
Subtle nitpicking. I don't think it should be called an acceleration gate. Wouldnt it crashes onto things when a ship is going super fast? Like a cannon? It's probably more like teleportation like how the mage teleport Jayce and is definitely the gate in season 11. That turns a champion into a beam of light/energy that travels across another set location. For shipping and traveling.
I actually have to wonder about something. The Vander fighting Silco the first time had darker hair and no beard. I wonder how far in the past did that happen. Maybe he was the leader… hmmm.
I think you are missing a hidden detail (or it isnt hidden enough xD). After Victor and Jayce achieve the first success with the hextech crystal, they show how a smol cog gets teleported from on side from the magic ball to another. This hinted at the future with the tower "teleporting" complete airships.
In 3rd episode at somehere 12:40 you can hear music that reminds warwicks w passive, this happens exactly after Silco says that he will show the monster inside Vander. Also if i remember correct brazilian voice actor of warwick is the same for Brazilian Vander(or some other country if i'm wrong)
16:00 Necrit you overlooked the scene where the blonde kid opens the door to that strapped chair. You can hear a distorted version of Warwick's W theme or his hunt music when one of Silco's goons starts dragging Vander towards the strapped chair, another hint that Vander is Warwick
1:20 "Jinx wasn't crying" . . . did we watch the same show? There were clear trails of tears running down her face. She could have been crying so much earlier there wasn't much left in her.
The first battle on the bridge between Piltover and Zaun is an exact parallel to the fight in the 3rd episode when Vi first puts on the gloves and goes to try and save Vander. They are fighting once again on a bridge (this one in a warehouse), and once again, nothing good comes out of it.
I found myself rewatching this series. When Powder goes "I can help them!" I found myself tearing up a little bit and muttering "Don't do it, Jinx :( " Made me feel even stronger the last episode/last scene song, "What could have been"
6:45 The mask on the right isn't Blood Moon Akali, but rather related to Liandry in the middle, as it looks almost exactly like Haunting Guise, the old component item for Liandry.
3:53 Error there, Jinx put the Hex Crystals into her pouch, the bag she threw into the water was full of the gadgets that the group pilfered from Jayce’s lab.
What an amazing series. Just when i thought riot was an impotent company, they throw us Arcane in the face. The emotions, the storytelling, the characters, everything is perfect. I'm stunned.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the background music of episode 3 at 12:30 it's Warwick's blood hunting music in game. That to me was a jaw dropping discovery.
3:49 not the hexcrystals, just some inventions and other valuable stuff from Jayce's lab 15:51 the music that plays at the end of this scene is Warwick's theme.
When Vander is dragged away by Silco’s henchman, faint music starts playing that sounds eerily similar to Warwick’s Blood Hunt theme. Also right before that happens Silco says to him “I’ll show you what you really are”.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR EPISODE 3* Maybe, but how could Vander ever become Warwick when he dies at the end of episode 3? I doubt singed somehow resurrects his corpse and then transforms him.
@@JustJelleNL Death was the event that triggered Warwick's transformation in his lore, so resurrection is very much possible when it comes to Singed's experiments.
@@xXmineGTAXx yeah but that death occurred after the experiments, experiments conducted on someone who was alive. After the person singed already experimented on died, he became Warwick. For that to work Vander would need to be resurrected, experimented on, and die once again to fully transform
@@JustJelleNL Keep in mind that Arcane is retconning some elements of the characters' lore - such as Viktor and Jayce and Hextech as a whole. It is not far-fetched to assume that they can do that with Warwick's lore aswell. Thankfully, all they would have to do is mention that Warwick died before Singed took his body, and his and Vander's lores would be identical.
01:08 Accually, you can see that Jinx cryied, just look at the marks on the smuged face, that she have cleared lines. Probably Vi was in charge to focus Jinx that everything will be ok.
i think the reason why powder is not crying at the beginning is because she is too young to understand or process certain kinds of feelings, what she feels in that moment is vi's sadness and spontaneously hugs her in an attempt to confort her.
There are 2 mistakes in this video!!!
1: I miscalculated how many crystals Jinx held. 1 exploded, 4 were in her suit case, and 1 is missing. It is unlikely the last one would be in the bag in the water.
2: Even though Vi technically didn't know where to find Vander's message because Ekko only spied on the initial conversation, she HAD to be the one who alerted the enforcer to sacrifice herself because of the like "how did you find me" at the beginning of episode 3.
the title of the video has a typo - "hidded" 👉👈
Jinx has tear streaks at the beginning of the video, so I'm pretty sure at some point she was crying. Not to mention that woman looks exactly like Jinx so it had to be her parent...
Well If I remember correctly, Vander just put the message under the counter, not that hard to find...
These one more jinx has the hexcrystals she didn't throw them she even asked vi should they tell vander and vi said to keep it a secret
@@MrTsuki39 correct
I really love when Viktor was a kid he couldn’t run after the boat, but later on on that scene where he’s running by the water you can see that he runs past a boat in the background. Really epic :)
I believe Powder doesn't cry because she's too small. Children process grief differently because they don't quite understand death. She's affected more by Vi's tears than by the rest. One of my friends tragically lost her husband and father of her two children, one of them a three year old toddler and she would actually alternate between consoling everyone and crying asking for her dad who was, well, absent.
I absolutely agree with you. When my mother started crying at her dads funeral, I didn’t. I only started cryin when I saw her cry
yeah, Powder wasn't actively crying given how young she was but you could see tear stains on her face the first couple seconds of the shot, Powder was too young to process it all.
When I found out my grandma died it didn’t really mentally hit me until I saw her body.
Yea she must have been like 4 or 5 at the time, not really understanding why vi was crying
When my father died, I remember myself just playing with my friends lol
Ekko's first line in the series was "Give me a few seconds"
also Powder mentions she wanted to ride in one of those airships, and we saw here in one of them on act 2 trailers. Also the mundo "Injured on an Airship" poster might reference something that will happen in said airship ?
When Powder said that I just started singing her song.
je pense pas, ca doit etre une ref a un film obscur
i loved that it fits ekko so well
The Ekko one is amazing, great catch!
I think it's funny how she wanted to ride it, and Mili wanted to shoot one down, and later on she shoots one down. Maybe for him
"Jinx wasn't crying"? You can see the "riverbeds" the tears left behind on her dirt covered face. She cried a whole lot. Vi is the one that only now starts crying.
Was thinking that too. My guess is that Powder's parents died first, which is why she wasn't crying when Vi's parents died.
Biggest reveal ever: Vi stands for Violet.

the shot where vi saw the blood of her sister powder on her palms after the slap and then she turns her hand to see the blood of the other bad people she fought earlier on her knuckles made her realize that her violence doesnt distinguish family from enemy and then she broke down, that shot alone made me realize how hard they have been working on this masterpiece of a show.

That scene where VI and Jinx got in confrontation after Vander's death was god tier. The culmination of her trauma was portrayed so good. Goosebumps when vi punched the shit out of her

@@locolorenz *slapped the shit outta her, you mean lol
Even though I have watched all of season 1 prior to watching this, I feel like jinx hair should be considered. When jinx was young, she had one braid. As she got older, she has split twin braids. I think this is a representation of her splitting between powder, and her newer self, jinx. Far stretch probably, hair changes in cinematic always had a reference. Keep in mind, vi never changed her hairstyle. It was always short and partly shaved.
To me it also looked as though she cut it herself. Everyone else's haircuts make sense, but hers is kind of all over the place
Here's some other hair references from history:
Samurais cut their hair only if they brought dishonour. Indians cut the top of the head of their victims to bring honour home. Indians had long hair because of their ties to nature and supernatural energies. And tale of Samson from the Bible: he lost his powers when his hair was cut. Also in Game of Thrones, Daenerys added a braid for every war victory (honoring late husband's Dothraki beliefs).
wait that's a great theory
I think in the last episode even though she still had two braids you tied them together at the top so it looks like the two became one and she chose Jinx
Im more surprised about how her hair grew so much in 5 years
@@dakotarae159 I mean, it also seems to be naturally blue. Maybe some of the pollution in the Undercity makes hair grow different colors and/or faster.

I literally use it as a trick to see something when I don't have my glasses. Saw it and the explanation in some physics video.
@@denisberg7712 holy sht...it works
I think the explanation was that you only let light that is going straight into your eye. Since seeing poorly has to do with your eyes bending the light too much or too little, if you only let light that is going in a straight line, it doesn't bend, therefore you see! (Yeah, I'm fun at parties)
About Vander and Silco.
At the end,
Silco says "Hello little girl, where is your sister ?"
Jinx jump on him and he is shocked by her reaction.
Jinx then answers "She left me"
At this instant, Silco expression changes radically, he stops to be shocked and he looks at vander with a contemplative and reminiscent air.
Then Jinx adds "She is not my sister anymore."
And at this instant, Silco expression changes again, he as faint movement of eyes and head, like these words go right into him, and then take a sad face and look at jinx like he "realized" something.
I totally agree, you can see how he realize what was going on in the expression of his face
Vander must have known since the wardens recived the tube he possessed. Vi did hear about it from Ekko, so she culd have send it herself. But Vander wuld have checked if it is still there once he realised her plan if he wouldnt have known about it.

They also resemble the goggles Vi wears on her head in game/in her splash art.

what i've noticed tho is that the parents, especially the mother, looks A LOT like jinx, facewise. you can even see her hair being blue-ish, maybe even purple which would be an interesting combination since vi's hair is pink/magenta and jinx's is blue/azure. plus, jinx might not have cried due to shock and fear. children that young can't quite understand the situation and it takes some time for them to realize or even digest such traumatic events. so i do think they are blood related!

(Yes, I started my third watch through)
I think that eye probably can't close. It looks like it was burned, either with fire/an explosion or chemically, and the lid tissue is gone.
@@DizzehxxMitizzeh42 Yes, that's the exact reason. But with additional nuance, he/she interpreted it that there is more to it than just a physical reason. Same way with the blood money shot.
Also interesting that hands and eyes are the two things character artists tend to work on the most
calm down
There was one subtle reference I picked up on at the end of episode 1 where Vi and Powder are on the rooftop and Vi is talking about her favourite toy stuck in the piping.
Damn nice one
Impressive af
Uhhh that would be so cool! Nice catch and if it is true, it's craaaazy how deep their references to lore go
If that's true then Janna really needs to start pulling her weight around Zaun.
Vi: Hey, I'm at risk of losing the only family I know and my city is on the brink of war because of me. I could really use your help." 🙏🏼
Janna: "Here's your smelly old doll back." 🌬
Vi: "Uh, I don't see how th-"
Janna: "No need to thank me." 🕊

Another one to add to the "Vander = Warwick" bucket:
From WW's bio "He saw a bearded man reflected in the eyes of a beggar as he tore out his throat. The other man looked somber, somehow familiar; there were scars on his arms."
Vander also happens to have a beard and scars on his arm.
Jinx using 3 crystals causing 3 explosions mimics the "Get Excited" card for LoR which depicts the windup monkey and does 3 damage to anything

i thought she used one crystal i was wondering why she wasnt using it later on
3:50 jinx didn't threw the crystals into the water it was the bag with the tools that VI accumulated at Jayce's room
She had a little coinpurse that she put at least some of them in, possibly assuming how important they looked
@@madMILL3R no its because she searched the separate room with those crystals. those hex crystals are the only thing she herself collected. the bag with all the other stuff was thrown at her by vi later on, thats why the crystals were separate from the other loot.

Just to further cement the Scientist as Singed, he's actually listed as Singed in the voice Credits at the end of the episode

So that's what it is
A pipe doens't actually zoom, but it helps to focus your eye as everything but the subject your looking at is black
I just left a comment trying to explain this too but you did it much better hahaha
This series so far has been truly amazing, gave me chills
the guy who got kicked out of the bar, (and is also seen drunk on an airship in the beggining of the progress day episode) is one of the main producers of fortiche, the animation studio that created arcane.
4:51 the yordle is wearing Cait's pre rework clothes xD
7:51 I don’t think that this is the case. Think of it, Jayce and Caitlyn were arriving at the workshop just as the crystals went off. So Vi and the others were already inside. The things Milo took can’t be the same stuff that Cait and Jayce bring home.
Edit: also - I don’t think jinx put any crystals into the bag with the rest of the loot. She put them into the small bag at her hip. So I don’t think there’s anything in the bag for Silco to find, but I’ll gladly be proven wrong.
I think he might be bringing more junk back. Because ekko found the place by following jayce supposedly.

During episode 3 when Jinx is left alone in the room she screams and cries in a psycho way. I think she always had some psychological problems, the events + the Shimmer will amplify them!
Totally agree, when I watched the scene I told my girl that this is referencing her underlying mental illness that comes out later!
Wow no shit lmaoo. And pls don't call it "in a psycho way".
Good observation, taking drugs can trigger psychosis
She has fear of abandonment, that's why she loses it when Vi makes her stay home and again begs her not to leave after Vander dies.
When the hexcrystals explode, Clagger is immediately killed while Milo gets pinned by a beam beside him. Milo starts to tug at the beam, but briefly stops struggling once he sees Clagger is dead.
I wonder who is more insane:
1. Jinx after blowing up all her friends
2. Necrit finding all easter eggs
The guy with glasses thrown out of brothel might be Jesse Cox.
what's up checkmark
Today I learned something new, dude
Nice
True, my physics teacher in highschool told us this, I still remember!
so you thought galileu idea for his lunnete started with lenses?
There where Silco stabt Vander and Vander has His Armguard, Warwick has a hole in His Arm
Claggor's gogles are the same as in Vi's splash art
I was reading all the comments to see if anyone spotted that!
That's kinda sad...
I can't wait to see how she gets them, because in the show jinx has them in her lair, and the glass is all smashed

Vi would've given it to Jinx as something to remember her by as she wasn't going to see her again for a long time.
exactly, i think that is what actually happened
If you look back at warwick story, there is a part where it says " all he could remember is a girl screaming out a name" which matches pretty well with jinx screaming violet. Also would explain why warwick has the voice line "let me forget" when he mets jinx
Another awesome detail is that Powder's bomb at the end likely would have worked perfectly if she didn't put all 3 of the hex crystals in. As you watch all 3 fly off and do their seperate damage, one of which flew into the room with vander and the kids.
I thought she only used one in the bomb and it just splintered off?

@@TheCasualGamr tthis ^
@@TheCasualGamr dude omg you're right
I don't feel like the reason only Vi was crying and Jinx wasn't when their parents died was because they aren't really biological sisters.
For the fourth thing i think it’s Ekko
I think you are missing a hidden detail (or it isnt hidden enough xD).
After Victor and Jayce achieve the first success with the hextech crystal, they show how a smol cog gets teleported from on side from the magic ball to another.
This hinted at the future with the tower "teleporting" complete airships.
The Akali blood moon mask is in my opinion the "haunting guise" item that used to be a component of old lyandry
Do you mean Haunting Guise?
i feel like the hand opening up to the planet in the teleportation sequence could be a nod to riot's previous logo animation with the fist
Warwicks taunt interaction to Vi as i remember:
" who taught you how to punch?"
Vi said she hoped the wind or a bird would knock her toy down, referencing Janna who zaunites know as their guardian spirit
When Silvio is trying to convince Vander to join him, he says “I’ll show you what you really are…” and the sound effect of Warwick’s W plays

This video made me chuckle - so many actual hidden details, and some that are less ‘hidden’, and more just plot beats that are impossible to miss
Not really related, but Vander's VA is the same VA for Braum.
When Powder goes "I can help them!" I found myself tearing up a little bit and muttering "Don't do it, Jinx :( "
Made me feel even stronger the last episode/last scene song, "What could have been"
6:45 The mask on the right isn't Blood Moon Akali, but rather related to Liandry in the middle, as it looks almost exactly like Haunting Guise, the old component item for Liandry.
That's what I remembered the mask from!
I'm stunned.
i cried through the whole series riot you can't play with me like this
I'm surprised you didn't mention the background music of episode 3 at 12:30 it's Warwick's blood hunting music in game. That to me was a jaw dropping discovery.
you are wrong. 1:20 Powder already cried. Look at her face. Its full of dried tears. She might've been at that place earlier and leads VI to it
3:49 not the hexcrystals, just some inventions and other valuable stuff from Jayce's lab
15:51 the music that plays at the end of this scene is Warwick's theme.
Wait for real? Thats more than solid reasoning for the Warwick theory
When Vander is dragged away by Silco’s henchman, faint music starts playing that sounds eerily similar to Warwick’s Blood Hunt theme. Also right before that happens Silco says to him “I’ll show you what you really are”.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR EPISODE 3*
Maybe, but how could Vander ever become Warwick when he dies at the end of episode 3? I doubt singed somehow resurrects his corpse and then transforms him.
@@JustJelleNL Death was the event that triggered Warwick's transformation in his lore, so resurrection is very much possible when it comes to Singed's experiments.
@@JustJelleNL As andrew said, Warwick actually dies in the lore before he becomes Warwick.
The shot of Jinx’s eye at the end is really reminiscent of that one painting of Lucifer the fallen angel
i think the reason why powder is not crying at the beginning is because she is too young to understand or process certain kinds of feelings, what she feels in that moment is vi's sadness and spontaneously hugs her in an attempt to confort her.
When you buy Warwick in TFT, he says "This is who I am!".. Remember Silco saying "I'll show you who you are!" to Vander?
