I want this to be a borderlands-style spinoff franchise. Give me the looter shooter accompanying the show.
Honestly the only issue with Odyssey getting an adaptation is that Jinx will be a prominent character again (though that could also go in its favour)
The tone of the trailer is such fun and you can really imagine the hijinks woven in with the more serious backstory
On the other hand, Odyssey Jinx is quite different from Arcane Jinx. A much more light-hearted tone, where her attitude is played more for comedy than drama, will give her a decent contrast, it may be really interesting to see how different two characters made from the same base premise can be.
My issue is he’s mostly using alternate universes for future series which doesn’t make much sense because those universes were only made to sell skins
@@Treck533 As is League of Legends and its universe as a whole. It's just a game made to earn money. But it didn't prevent Arcane from being created. Why it's different for the skin universes?
@@antongrigoryev6381 The lore universe is already built from the ground up and has the potential to build a cinematic universe with interconnected stories right after Arcane. Alternate multiverses have no use but for a measly comic series not a high budget animated series.

A Bilgewater animated show in the style of “Arcane” would be fantastic.
“The Ruined King” game actually delved a little deeper into that storyline; and it paints a great picture of what to expect from a character like Miss Fortune (and sort of makes it impossible for such a character not to be voiced by Laura Bailey).
Honestly, though…I can already see the “world” opening up to Noxus: we might get some of the stories from that region sooner rather than later.
The bitter rivalry between Noxus and Demacia would be something that would love to see. As far back as I can remember what was one of the first parts of the lore of LoL that I can remember and would be a great jumping off point from Arcane.

I feel that Arcane is creating a setup for Noxus-Ionia war. At the end of Arcane noxians may imprison Jinx and make a deal with Singed to use them both to build a magical nuke that kick-started Yasuo's, Riven's and Yone's arc.
This could create a lot of dramatic tension. Yasuo fleeing with Jinx and befriending her because they share similar trauma only for Yasuo to discover that she was the one who made the bomb and ruined his life, stuff like that. Predictable, but could make a pretty satisfying storyline with good execution.

🍑 One of the biggest selling points for an Odyssee Show for me would be the interactions of Raast and Kayn. Their banter in the skin is just soooo good. It genuinely feels like even though they are constantly trying to one up one another, like there is also a sense of cammeraderie between the two. (My heart breaks everytime Shadow Assassin Kayn gets a Penta and exitedly tells Raast only to realise he's gone

Personally, I feel that the key to success in Riot's extended media storytelling is in stories that have not quite been told. A lot of people will talk about The Burning Tides or The Demacian Civil War as great stories, but a show like Arcane flourished with the freedom to add to and remove from the lore without breaking too much stuff. I feel the best option for this would be Swain's rise to power and the formation of the Triferix. You can include Darius and Draven, the arena and blood magic lore from LoR, but you can also expand on The Black Rose and intergovernmental relations with Demacia and the Shuriman tribes, and even leave hints beneath the surface of the corruption brought about by demons and the ever-present shadow of Mordekaiser over the capitol. It would be a show of grand scale and emotional weight to match Arcane, and as an added bonus it would flesh out a culture that will likely play a massive role in the upcoming MMORPG. Sorry for the long comment, loved the video TB, keep at it. See ya.
True. As much as id love bildgewater to be the next, i honestly think that after arcane, going for the unkown noxian storylines would open up a Large potential to expand to other region's stories/lore, as noxus is one of the region that has the most connection with other regions. For example its more recent ionia invasion, the disputes with demacia, they repel attacks from the north (freljord), and their conquered areas in shurima.

@@-drey-202 Absolutely. Transitioning to Noxus after the Piltover/Zaun arc of Arcane makes way too much sense, given that Arcane already has a direct connection to Noxus and its potential storyline.
I've thought about it quite a bit, and I could easily see a end-credit-esque tease scene for the Noxus series coming at the end of Arcane S2; something along the lines of Talon or another Noxian assassin being sent by Swain to deal with Ambessa Medarda, maybe find an artefact on her corpse confirming that she was tied to the Black Rose, hence why Swain is implied to have killed her son. From there, Arcane S3 could start the Noxus storyline from Darius or Swain's POV. For Swain, it'd pick up somewhere after his Ionian defeat and rehash his lore in flashbacks, and explore his political skirmishes with LeBlanc. For Darius, though, he'd be an observer to it, as well as a more honest look at a Noxian's life. His backstory in his comic could be explored in a similar way to the first three episodes of Arcane, showing childhood as a Noxian orphan rising up the ranks. Fast-forward to interactions as a General with Swain, hearing about the Black Rose and Crimson Circle by nature of his rank being a political draw. By the end of the series, the political war could reach a fever pitch, and it'd be up to Darius - a true Noxian, not just some politician trying to gain power - to make the choice that defines Noxus as a nation.
From there, the next Arcane series could be teased in a similar end-credit-esque scene for... anywhere, really. We could have any number of Noxian champions being briefed for an upcoming invasion of Ionia, with Swain musing about paying back a debt whilst fiddling with his demon hand, referencing Irelia. We could have a scene focusing on the Du Coteaus to hint at a Demacia V Noxus arc, with the main characters being Garen and Katarina as they have their Romeo/Juliet relationship. We could focus on another Du Coteau, Cassiopeia, and have her prepare to go on her trip to Shurima in the tease scene, and the intro for the next arc would be the Sivir betrayal narrated by Nasus before fading to a flashback of Azir and Xerath's time. Hell, we could even fast forward to post-Ruination and have any number of characters having dinner with a disguised Thresh.
TL;DR All roads lead to Noxus. Head there after Piltover/Zaun, then after the Noxus series, go basically anywhere you want.
@@xenyakodo i mean arcane is not even a current lore yes? Its a much earlier story since the hextech has just been discovered . And by the hints of it, in the show, it seems that noxus is not even a trifecta yet, so they could definitely go for the invasion of ionia route :)
I think Arcane could naturally evolve to that, I'm not sure about the timeframe of Swain's rise to power, but we know that Singed worked for Noxus in helping with the invasion of Ionia by making chemical weapons, so that means that Arcane takes place before that event, and it has already hinted us that Noxus is going to be an important region for season 2, so maybe we'll start to shift in that direction.
Your series are great, I watch them all. But seriously, the more “random” content you make “just cause…,” is the best. Congrats on being such a sick creator. I only found you because I asked frosk if she knew of any creators who focused on creative (besides lore, which is pretty tapped into) and she mentioned your name. I’m so thankful for that exchange. As a writer the miss fortune story actually sounds really good, the path to revenge leading into having to then take the position of the person who she spent her life to destroy. It's kind of like where the luke cage show was going before it got cancelled (with him having to become the new crime boss after taking out everyone else to prevent a power vacuum that would lead to a huge gang war putting others in danger) and it's a really interesting concept cause normally the story ends at the revenge as if it solves everything but the next part of the story is actually the more interesting part.
Lucas cage being canceled was a damn shame.

As much as a full on arcane-esque series would be amazing, I think an anthology series a la love death and robots could do really well, imagine a self contained horror episode featuring a hamlet of farmers dealing with a rumoured scarecrow that's causing people to disappear left and right. Or even an episode of a soldier climbing mount targon only to eventually fail and perish, imagining themselves at the peak when they've barely touched the summit. Allowing multiple different studios the opportunity explore the world of league and shape it with their own unique forms of storytelling could be very compelling

🍑 Arcane is actually what got me looking into LoL lore after knowing absolutely nothing about the game prior to watching it, and it still floors me how much incredible story potential there is in every corner of this universe. How can you look at stories like Miss Fortune, Lux, Rell, Ashe, etc and *not* take advantage of it? Here's hoping that Arcane's success has opened Riot's eyes a bit.

It doesnt need to open riots eyes. Theyre very well aware of the amazing stuff they have lingering arround.
They have by the way also already confirmed that there is more to come regarding different types of media, meaning more shows (maybe in different styles live action/anime) and so on. When this stuff is gonna get released has a really huge questionmark behind it sadly. Riot really takes its time to deliver good stuff, for example Arcane was 6 Years in the making with a budget arround 90-100 mill.
This is my sentiment as well! Even though I've been a long-time fan of the Runeterra universe and have played League off and on since its inception, I believe there are so many like you, Rose, that would absolutely love the Runterra universe as I do.
I believe that was Blizzard's biggest mistake with WoW: not capitalizing on alternative media/revenue streams and fixating on the gaming genre. And personally, I feel that Riot has a more interesting World in Runterra vs Azeroth. I can't tell you how many times I've thought of, wished for, and even searched Amazon for a certain product (such as apparel) based on a certain character or a particular story arc, only to look and find nothing! And don't get me started on the pathetic amount of items offered in their merch store. They had 2 Arcane shirts in their store and both were fugly looking. Seriously, every other IP on the planet offers a plethora of items to choose from if you fancy their IP. But not Riot!
Riot has a gold mine with its IP but up until Arcane, they've been shooting themselves in the foot like Blizzard, IMHO.
I think it’s pretty much unanimous that the Bilgewater Legends of Runeterra short was the best, so imagining an entire show in a similar style would be a dream come true. Getting to see Miss Fortune in action with the rest of The Syren crew like Rafen, Twisted Fate and Graves getting up to their usual antics and seeing what lurks below the waters of Bilgewater sounds amazing
I'd like to see an Arcane style story of the Demacian story with Sylas, Garen, and Lux. That might even make a good candidate for a live action movie or limited series. Explore the conflict Garen has to deal with, exploring Sylas' evolution... just a lot of deep story beats.
I can't take seeing the hurt in lux's eyes when sylas betrays her. No thank you.

🍑 I'll be honest, my top pick for an Arcane style adaptation would be Mount Targon. You'd have a setting very much like Arcane but distinct from it as well - a different level of technology, lots of smaller villages as opposed to two big cities, and whereas Hextech allows for a more Magitech feel Targon has literal gods (well, Aspects, but that's basically the same thing) throwing down and potentially having DBZ punch fights. It'd also allow Diana's rebellion against the Solari to be more clearly fleshed-out than it is in the lore as of now, and given the Pride Month story from a few years ago Riot don't really have any excuse not to write Leona and Diana as tragic exes, so that'd be fun. And, also, there's a prime opportunity for political intrigue considering Diana essentially kills the College of Cardinals in a Theocracy - what does that do to the political landscape of the Solari, even without the threat of a potential Lunari revolution? I dunno, there's a lot of stories to get out of Targon - granted, the same is true of all the regions of Runeterra except perhaps Noxus in isolation, but still.

Noxus has a lot of story potential actually. Like the black rose, annie, rell and the other kids, and even a riven focused series, with draven and the noxian arenas
@@ebox147 Fair point, especially the idea of a Riven focused show, but I just meant that I think Noxus works best as a force in other region's stories, and I don't think I'd fully enjoy a series entirely focused on Noxus as opposed to, say, the Noxus-Ionian conflict, or Noxus supporting the Mage Rebellion in Demacia, or especially Noxus as they are in Arcane where. Noxus works best as the antagonist of another story that has some intrigue of its own, not in isolation by itself, is all I meant.
I dont know much about dianas lore, but reading it now, I actually think its a good story. Though they should give it a little twist like from arcane. Diana and Leona being ex-lovers would make a good story, but im not into romance in general, but if it drives the story, so be it. And it would shed some light on the rivalry between the solari and the lunari.
Also, I just want an excuse to see pantheon in the series. Like cmon its targon, atleast he should be mentioned.

I'm a bit biased, and I know it'll never happen but Neeko and her backstory I think really fits a movie/show aspect. She's practically an orphan forced out of her home, and now she's surviving surrounded by people who aren't like her while she's trying to figure out her next steps in life.
🍑 Burning tides was such a cool event and I would love to see it adapted to a more story focused medium (Ruined King game also made me crave more Bilgewater and Shadow Isles content, it was so good), but I'm also really sold on Odissey 👀(that trailer is so good)
The Ancient Shurima storylines would be so cool: Xerath and Azir in a Game of Thrones like series, with Nasus and Renekton as secondary characters and their flashbacks
But I prefer new shurima lore tho, after azir have awaken

We NEED a Pantheon story adaptation. An Arcane style adaptation showing the traditions and rites of Targon, while at the same time putting focus on Pantheon's struggles yet showing his will is unbreaking. With every defeat, rising back up stronger, and gaining the courage to overcome everything thrown at him.
🍑 I personally really like all the stories around noxus, from it's bloody origins with Mordekaiser, to their current post war restructuring, pitting swain and leblanc in this internal war which I find super interesting. Also, their aesthetic just flipping rules, and they're the driving force for the stories of so many champions and basically all of Ionia. Dunno how well that'd translate to an Arcane-like animated series, but personally I'd really like to see the ever looming second Ionia war come to fruition and be thoroughly explored
I’ve been reading comments and I agree with something. I feel like, in order to not cause confusion, if they are planning on making an alternate reality show (I.e oddisey or Star guardian) it would need to, “shift focus” from the characters of arcane. I don’t want the creators to feel constricted because “people like jinx being a super sad tragic character” and make oddisey or star guardian THAT you know? Which yeah, they kinda are that, but they don’t have that giga trauma, they are more simply energetic rebels
Yeah. Especially for Odyssey Jinx - her being that light-hearted enigma of positivity who just likes explosions a little too much and takes nothing seriously is a great part of the universe's appeal, and actually work even better in contrast with Arcane. It would be really interesting to see how different two characters made from the same base premise can be.
Arcane is already not cannon, so the tragic story of little Powder don't need to mix up with the epic of the Odissey crew. She could even have a different name in every universe and keep the nickname for other reasons.
Comic books have been pulling it off for a long time and it's really nice, they just need to make it good
@@Dani_el_Duck my point is audience perception, more so those that only know arcane. You know how people get with “establishes characters” when they change them. I’m afraid of the backlash of what would come for that
I made a similar comment about what I think would the best solution: an anthology where each episode tackles one alternative universe. By making it one offs instead of a whole season the viewers wouldn’t draw comparisons.
They're not going to make a show for non-canon skin concepts. They're half-baked flashy cosmetics. There is no substance.

🍑 One one hand, I love Miss Fortune’s story so much. And I would love to watch her navigate Bilgewater’s politics and her rise to power. It’d be amazing watching this on screen and I cant imagine how amazing of a cliffhanger seeing Gangplank surviving the wreck would be.

On a more serious note, Janna has been teasing the dark secret behind star guardians but she was barely involved in seasons 2-3. If Ahri’s team were around the same time as lux’s, it would be awesome to see some confrontation scenes between Ahri or Syndra and Janna.
I miss the og guardians so much, I wish their lore wasn’t limited to skin bios 😔

I honestly really hope that they'll do something in Bildgewater next, partly because I just love that region and their characters (even though I knew nothing about this universe before Arcane) and partly because I really want those characters to get more attention from the wider fandom space and I desperately need more fanart of them. 😅

Skins would be so cool to see! Especially since they have already made so many characters.
I still feel that exploring Demacia next with its more pronounced fantasy themes would be amazing. And over the first season you could start with subtle hints that something is not right with their society and by the end it could be developed into the mage rebellion.

Lowkey sad the Freljord wasn't in there, I love their fight with the watchers, I love how Nunu is hinted at being the hero of the freljord because he has the hope that Lissandra has lost, I love the story of the sisters and the demigods, idk I could be biased.

I'm actually stunned that neither of my top two Arcane style Plotlines even made the honorable mentions:
Noxus-Ionian Wars: Playing with the seeds of the terrifying power of Jericho Swain and the Noxian armies alluded to in hushed whispers in Arcane, we can see and explore some of the most popular regions and how the devastations of war rock the lives of many champions. Irelia, Master Yi & Wukong, Riven and her sisters, Yasuo and Yone, Shen Akali and Zed. Maybe even Jhin, as a treat. There is so much beautiful landscape to show ruined by the engines of conquest.
Three Sisters: A tale of Sejuani, Ashe, and Lissandra, exploring the growing sisterhood of Ashe and Sejuani and tragic drifting apart due to various tensions. All of which is tied together with undercurrents of Lissandra's "plans within plans" and flashbacks back to when she was sisters with their ancient predecessors in a tale set to tragically repeat itself when the horrors of the void begin to stir from within the ice.
God, this game's lore is criminally underexplored.
I genuinely believe the Ionia invasion would be the next arc after Piltover/Zaun is wrapped up. The way I see it is, Noxians look for weapons. For some reason they're unable to get their hands on hextech. So they settle for the next best thing; chemtech. And that's when they hire Singed for the Ionian invasion.
I like the idea that the events of Piltover and Zaun has a domino effect on the other regions of Runeterra which eventually incites the creation of other champions around the world

Freiljord civil war would be so fucking good, the relationship between Ashe and Sejuani is so good. A Noxian invasion would also be awesome.
I was so intrigued about the very idea of the freljord and the three sisters that I started writing a fanfiction on it and put it on permapause at about 100,000 words. More than a typical novel. Didn't even make it a third of the way through. There's so much content packed in telling the story of those 3 characters alone. Lissandra has a whole nother life and characters, each have their own little kingdoms, and there's that whole void thing and the noxian invasion that seriously escalated tensions.
I was fully expecting a void event to agitate the watchers this year but I guess Rito put the story on pause too. Which makes me sad because I think it's very compelling.

Imagine a Game of Thrones style Frelyord. You literally have it: Drama between houses, a common enemy, watchers troupe, lissandra's secrets and so on. Would love it (maybe not live action tho)
The thing with odessey is that it could even work to give Riot even more money. Make them recruit 2-3 more "champions," and make them skins ingame as a event to advertise the series. Riot can't do anything wrong with odessey at this point

Love all the top picks! One unique thing that Arcane did was even though we knew the characters and region we did not know the story. It was inspired by canon lore but wasn’t a show about the lore. That gave more freedom and kept a mystery in every episode. It was fresh regardless of if you knew the lore or not.
I absolutely would LOVE to see things that we do know i.e Burning Tides, Shurima, The Blessed/Shadow Isles, Bandle City etc. etc. but exploring stories that are familiar but unknown I think was a big part of why Arcane was so wonderful.

I totally agree with what you said about Star guardians just needing more room to grow and being stifled on the fact theyre just skins. From what I've seen from the in game story they totally rush super huge plot points that leaves a sour tatse in your mouth they kill off huge villians in like super fast way. It feels empty despite all the effort the writers and designers and marketing put into it they did fiddlesticks and morgana so dirty 🍑

I would love to see a series on Targon centred around Diana and Leona featuring Pantheon and their battles with the Darkin. I think the forbidden love between Leo and Di and the tension of Lunari and Solari could carry a whole show.
I could also watch a series on Riven. Her journey as a noxus soldier to the gladiator arenas and her trying to find redemption/peace in Ionia while being hunted. Its like Gladiator and the Last Samurai rolled into one.

Finally, someone else preaching for more exploration of North Africa and Persia. There is so much history there that gets overshadowed by Egyptian history. And with Nazuma being pretty much explicitly inspired by Subsaharan that's even more potential. There are so many intersecting cultures and ethnic groups all over Africa and Shurima should lean into that so much more! Did you know that there is an ethnic group called the Amazigh that are spread over North and West Africa? Probably not, because people barely ever explore past surface level when it comes to that continent

Yeah, I think the only skin lines that would have a possibility of adaptations are Star Guardian and KDA, cause they are the true money makers for Riot.

For me the skin line I would want to see get a Arcane treatment is highnoon. I genuinely love Lucian as a charecter and I’m a sucker for both horror and dark gothic retelling of other genre like cowboys. There are a lot of old western and Native American scary stories and legends that can be recontextualized under a gothic lens.

I would love Ancient Shurima because you could see so many ascended before they got turned into the Darkin. (But I would love to see more ascended in League aswell, but I don't think that is going to happen)

My first idea for an Arcane level animated series adaptation was the Ruination. But now that they've announced the book I would love to see a Burning Tides series. Bilgewater lore has developed so much since 2015, and things could retroactively be added to make the story even more compelling.
Demacia's story would also hook a lot of people. It's basically X Men but in a fantasy setting. You already have a Magneto type character in Sylas, which would make Lux the Charles Xavier.
Arcane season 2 isn't even out yet and I'm already so excited for what comes after that. Can't fucking wait

I would also like a show in Bilgewater, but while Buring tides sounds like a cool idea, I wish to one day see a comedy/action series with Twisted Fate, Graves, and Nilah going on silly adventures and defeating sea beasts and bounties. A bundle city series would be fun, seeing the hidden world of the yordles, their "politics" and they could be used so show the viewer any place in the world of League because yordles can find portals to anywhere.
Nah, the best next segment would be Darius and Draven’s story along with Swain’s trek through the invasion of Ionia. Could even adapt the comic where Darius finds out about his son. I feel like Draven would be such a fun character to write deep scenes for and just animate having a great time. And who doesn’t love Swain’s lore?

My pick would be shurima, as skyen has pointed out, it's just so rare to have that kind of representation in an animated show. Plus, I just love that storyline. I think there's so much drama to be told and explored
🍑 A part of me was hoping to see Spirit Blossom on the honorable mentions list even though I can't honestly say that zooming in on any part of a fantasy afterlife defined by its mysteries is a good idea. Maybe a series of shorts in different art styles focusing on each of the characters and "regions" would be the most in depth you could go without spoiling it. Either way, thanks for the video Skyen!

They should adapt the Ashen knights and Solar and Lunar Eclipse skinlines because i love elden ring aesthetic of those skin
I don't really know if any of the alternate universe stuff would be great for a full blown arcane level story (although yeah the Odyssey one does seem compelling), but I do think they could get a ton of use out of the alternate universe skinlines by doing an anthology series. That way you could just bounce around as needed to what seems interesting, and really make use of the whole familiar characters in unfamiliar settings that it would create.
🍑 There are two things I really want from Riot (in terms of quality animated series)
1. Targon series (obviously following Nami trying to get Leona and Diana to kiss, get the Solari and Lunari to not murder each other, recharge the moon battery, and go home to get partners)
2. Demacia series focused on the mage rebellion (obviously with the endgame of Garen being interesting, Demacia being less… Demacian, and Lux going on a trip to Zaun to enter the most homophobic lesbian relationship ever)

I'll honestly never understand why companies do this with their ip, like a star guardians anime or like a persona style game or odysey outerworld borderlands game would make absolute bank, merch and comics etc which would draw people into the game and the in game economy, like you could even license it out to people similiar to the way riot forge does business and you are raking in the cash, I want to give you my money riot just let me!
the Noxian invasion on Ionia would be a banger animated series. So many things happened, so many stories to tell.
i love your work keep up the good work and even if the videos are longer and take longer to finish take your time. Or you can make shorter and high-quality videos
