No backwards compatibility nah not interested I don't want to lug two handhelds around just to play my older carts on one then new stuff on another makes no sense to me
The reason it’s not going to be compatible is because if it is, then Nintendo knows that their games will be online for emulators a month after the thing is sold that’s why it is not going to be compatible I assume
@@buffalobrunowings SNES and NES classic are the last home consoles they made so far, but they’re new versions of old consoles so i guess the Wii U are the last. but for last actual tradition home consoles it’ll be the gamecube
I don't know why they wouldn't miss this opportunity to make it backwards compatible with the Switch especially since they've done it between the DS, 3DS, and New 3DS and also the Wii and Wii U
@@BennySGB Yeah. Especially since we’re getting Super Mario Bros Wonder in October and then a Peach game and Luigi’s Mansion 2 remaster coming (I assume) next year which may end up being on the next console anyways, but as far out as they announced those, I assume those will be coming Spring/Summer of next year though
But Nintendo is more and more moving towards selling games via e-shop, and they still have the online service going. I guess that the new Switch will be able to play games from the older consoles as digital copies. Most likely, by using the online service to make us pay additionaly. Anyways, what I am basically saying here is, that by connecting both switches to an online account, you will be able to transfer the game files from the card to the other Switch and the card is then disabled and unplayable. It's definitely not cool but better than nothing. And that's just my thoughts on this.
