Oh man, what a treat eh!? Glad you got to see the 1:1 RX78-2 before they changed it! Have you been back since to see the RX-0 Unicorn? Last time I was in Japan (this past January), I only had a few hours to kill in Akihabara, which obviously wasn't enough, so I can totally understand spending a couple straight days there myself. I was able to make out with more tools than kits though, which is what I intended. I did leave with a HG Kshatriya though, so I was stoked about that. Speaking on Mandarake, the next time you visit Japan, try and go to Nakano, they have a few floors inside the Broadway Nakano building of just different Mandarake stores and a few of them had Gunpla. I spent an entire day just window shopping there! Anyway, thanks for your quick vlog on your trip! Sad you spent your bday alone, but I'm sure it was totally worth it, especially being in Japan!
Hey David, I did go back, actually many times after this first trip -- 4 or 5 more! I would cry if I had to leave in a few hours XD Good on ya for holding back on the kits -- I always fail. I did end up visiting nakano mandarake as well, and got a tallgeese 2 there. Cheers!
@@frostedsnow My wife's family is over in Japan, so when we go visit, I wish I could sneak away for more than a few hours, but alas. Glad to hear that you were able to visit Nakano Mandarake. What did ya think? Maybe I oversold it, as I was just awestruck, as we don't have anything that cool in the states. ;)
very good video, when you say second hand gunpla, they come disassembled in the box? or the parts still come fixed on the frames? or maybe you buy them assembled already.... how it works!!!!???
Will definitely take note of those shops I didn't visit. But if ever you are back you should visit Volks, they also have a store in Osaka. That's modeling heaven!!!!
