When I see people eating these dumplings, they normally poke a little hole in the wrapper and pour the soup into a spoon. They blow on it and drink it, then blow on the wrapper and filling to cool that before consuming it. I have never seen anyone put whole soup dumplings in their mouth without caution. And I have definitely never seen anyone do that three times!
I keep tons of them in my freezer! Granted where I live there is NO soup dumpling places. I put low sodium soy on each one with a splash of duck sauce for the sweetness. And CHOW DOWN! Chicken is my fav. But pork will do in a pinch.
Pro tip: Soup dumplings require you to bite the tip off while on a chinese soup spoon to allow it to release the steam created by the liquid inside. Traditionally, it is served with black vinegar and thinly julienned pieces of ginger that you pour into the opening... a small amount goes a long way, so use sparingly to not lose the flavor of the broth completely. Take a small bite from the side and slurp the liquid out before eating it if it is large or pop the whole thing in your mouth if it is small enough. Bon appétit!

I like this brand of dumplings!!! Also their chicken cilantro wontons are good too!!! Easier than going through the process of making them for only 2 people!!!!
