Experienced drivers take the Cascadia because they know they're the most efficient with the most shops all over the country which translates to money in your pocket. Super truckers take the others because they don't know any better or they're making enough money for it not to matter. I've owned both and as you found out the T680s seem to always have alignment issues so you're buying more tires.
I've already known about t680s and their issues, driven many t680s before. I prefer Cascadias for that purpose specifically, but they did not have one with less than 480k miles. I wanted 380-420k miles on it.
When I was in orientation, I did not have another person in the hotel with me; however, I do know they sometimes do. There are times you can request for them not to, and they oblige, but I am unsure how likely the chances of them allowing it are.
I hope to see you out on the road! If you ever have any questions feel free to reach out, I can help with whatever you need. Especially if it's relating to the recruitment process and what to expect. Best of luck to you 🍀
I have cdl a with hazmat and tanker and double endorsements, but no experience how much pay per mile after done with mentor when you be solo and how muck paid weekly
If you go to Swift, it depends on the account. You would probably be between .47-.54 (sliding pay) if you do OTR. On a dedicated you can be more like a strict .53-.60 depending on account. I would say, for your first year, don't expect great pay; usually doors open at 1 year for decent pay. Just hammer down until then and you'll be set!
I’m about to move back to Philadelphia, swift doesn’t hire out of Fl, so within the next week I’m gonna get my license changed, and work on getting the CDL permit done.
They hire out of Florida, they have a terminal in Ocala and I know many drivers who drive out of there as they live near the terminal. They just don't hire a lot out of there because the freight is slacking down there. Do you already have your CDL?
@@RidingWTyler I’m about an hr from Ocala, and a recruiter told me if I can move back to Philadelphia, because that’s where I used to live, he said that he will be able to get me on, I have to get the permit, and license done the. Drug tests.
I've been making 1k-1.4k take home (after all expenses and taxes). Not great, but not terrible. I definitely am looking for better, but my area makes it hard. I might have something lined up with GP Transco tho. Pay of .62 CPM and a g-pay of 1,250.
Did you get a sleep apnea test while there as stated on their forms.
No, they never asked for one. If you go to certain other terminals they will tho.

Wow omg! I'm sorry for your lost 🙏 RIP 🩷💛
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
@TyLM99 You're highly welcome! It's good for people to show a little love for one another sometimes
Is it true Swift puts more than 1 driver in the same hotel room??? 😳

So if you got your DOT physical, you can skip the physical at Swift?
Only if rehired within 2 or 3 months of when you left or went on a LOA. Otherwise, no; you need to do it at orientation.
They starting me at .43 cpm regional
Oof, I know people starting at .50-.60 with Swift. What regional account and out of where? Some accounts suck, some are fairly decent.
910 otr dry van
Hmm, maybe give placement a call and see if they have any decent paying accounts available; sometimes they require 3-6 months tho...
@@arturosantibanez97 the did you dirty bro I was exact same region started.55 cpm
@@NdimiTechxOfficial I’ll be doing regional idk if that matters

That is extremely odd. I would only assume they are no longer hiring out of there for the time being.
@@RidingWTyler was told it had something to do with the freight here, but I have family up in Philadelphia so it works out on my end lol

Orientation is where they are looking to put a breathing body in the truck who is willing to work for nothing
I'm surprised they took me then, I don't breathe all that well.
@@RidingWTyler work for free?
