Actually i haven't tried it with whole wheat flour..so i am not sure about it.I guess everything will be the same except that,you may need to add 1 or 2 tsp of extra water as whole wheat flour absorbs slightly more water than plain flour.

Egg wash gives a nice shine on the surface of bread after baking ....sorry that i haven't heard of something as a vegetarian substitute for that.We can just brush the surface of dough with milk, which helps to attain a golden brown color but not that shine.
If we use active dry yeast, we will dissolve it in liquid and then wait for it to get activated; and then added to the dough.If we are using instant yeast we can skip that step and we can add the yeast directly to form the dough.
Hi Adeline,Yes you can put cheese and garlic powder after egg wash.Make sure the baking tray is far from the heating coils for example if the coils are on the upside ,place the baking tray on the lowest rack..(if they are near,the cheese get melted faster and the bread won't get baked properly).All the best for making wonderful breadsticks.

You can buy that at a dollar store if you have a dollar store and if you're not in the United States you can probably buy it in your local grocery store and the baking area

Why salt is added with Yeast? 🤢don't you know they both enemies! d dough won't rise well.
May be when we use large amount of salt..Here the dough rised really well and the breadsticks were light and airy.
