@imjusdayy Yes, I really just found out how well they work for styling and protecting. I didn't get to enjoy them too much on my transitioning hair b/c of the relaxed ends. Now I love to wear them. Thanks Love!
Took me a few months to figure out, but by trial and error---I now only co-wash (no shampoo used with two strand twists). The shampoo used to cause some knotting at the roots.
I love the two strand twist also. Thanks for the info cause i do the twist every time I wash my hair. Now I'm on the right track. I'm almost been transitioning for a year and was trying to finger out some styles to keep my hands out of my hair. Thanks so much!!!
Thanks, I was looking for someone who works out four or more days a week like me. I sweat like a pig and I work out four to five days a week. I don't wash nor cowash every day. I DO stand under and rinse my scalp and hair everyday. I wash and cowash as needed according to my personal regiment. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it very much. You look beautiful, sista'
Hey! You ever try two strand twists on partially blow dried hair? Not fully dried, just blow dried enough to dry the hair but not lose the texture. The texture is what "fattens" up the hair. Yeah, some get flat and "wormy" outcome on wet hair.
I just want to say over all that I just start watching your videos and are answer to my prayer for myself and my little girl. She is six and I damaged her hair a tad bit by trying maintain it with a texturizer. Now my mom and I are playing the repair game on her hair. I just recently decided to go natural myself as of this month. So far I am embracing it lol:-) Your videos are very resourceful and encouraging... thanks;-)
@AshantiLuvsYou It was probably recently washed b4 I took the twists down to do the twistout. That's what makes the twistout---products that are on the twists b4 taking them down. I'm pretty sure I had just washed it 1 or 2 days before taking the twists down.
Great video I've been wearing twists for the past 2 weeks on to 3 now cause I dont have to mess with my hair for a week but I've never try washing with them in; I take'em down, DC and twist again
Soo glad I found this vid. Im on my 5th week of twists. I shampoo and d/c weekly. I do take them down 1 by 1 to remove shed hair then I retwist. So far so good. On my way to waist length.
From what I understand, the reason people will locks have so much length retention is because there hair is never combed. People like you and I comb through our hair, getting rid of any dead hair that normally comes out. Dreaded hair doesn't have any dead hair coming out, thus the hair grows extremely long... Hope that made sense for those curious about why dreads get so long.
@Bobbi705 Hey Love! Thanks--I use the tangle teaser and conditioner/water when I'm done with my twistout and I'm ready to detangle/wash and do my styling for the week. The twistout is what's hard to "untwist" b/c the hair is so "wirey" at that point. Can't comb the twistout or else you'll now have an afro. HTH
I'm made the decision to stop getting relaxer and therefore the last one was 4 weeks ago. I'm doing research on utube for natural hair style, products, etc.. finally came across yours and I love it!!! especialy the 2 strand twist. I will not be doing the BC, Lol. I will need to take baby steps, maybe a year without a relaxer first and move on from there *,*. Thanks again.
@ImLovingCeeCee I have a video on here when I was transitioning and I did 2 strand twists. I had LOTS of relaxed hair. It held up for about 3 days. I washed/conditioned and then blow dried the hair on COLD so that the relaxed ends would "swell up". Yeahhhhhhhhh, that worked out pretty good. Check out the video. Also, use some butter type product to twist with. Let me know how it works out!
@WatchAngelTV Heyyyy Love! I'm running behind on responses, but You got it figured out I sometimes just run water on my hair after my nightly runs at the park. I sweat a lot too, so I figure I just need to get the salt off my scalp/hair. I don't need to soap it up every time. I switch it up and co-wash it sometimes. And if it's been like 10 days or my hair has dirt in it--then I'll wash with shampoo. Just like you said--according to what your hair needs. Thanks for the message beautiful ;o)
So much progress. Your hair looks great. So what you are saying is you use the tangle teaser and conditioner to take down you twist to achieve the twist out styles?
You make some good points in this vid about the 2 strand twist, I use to two strand twist back when I was young and natural, didn't know that's what it was back in those days.lol. anyway your hair looks really nice in this style and it is looking thick and healthy.
@MsMorenazaa Isn't it so easy? It makes sense! I would do it that way but for I have to rinse the hair almost daily b/c of the sweat. Maybe if I did them bigger... Have a great week Love!
@KLT828 I stumbled on the "braidout" when my older daughter was about 5 years old and I had some braids in after a wash/condition. Took them out the next day and was like "oh, this looks nice!" Come to find out about "braidout" LOL. Thanks KEL!
This is a great vid. . .LOL @ the 'you too transitioners'!! That would be me. . .10 mos and counting. I've been lagging so I really need to give these a try. You're hair has grown so much already. So thick and pretty!! Thanks for doing this vid. . it was very helpful.
@MsChanteJ72 Ha Ha I'm still transitioning (remember the daughter). Her hair drama is mine LOL. Yeah, the hair really "takes off" when it's ready. Your hair looks so healthy so you're doing something right. Thanks Love!
@malcanext Hey! Running so slow on most of my inbox messages! Yeah, I'm keeping her hair in the two strand twists for like 2 weeks after I wash it and deep condition. Then I'm putting the kimmaytube recipe leave in for long lasting moisture. I moisturize her hair as needed and focus on the ends (her weakest point). That leave in has lots of oil, so we're definitely keeping it oiled up LOL! Thanks for the tip Love!
@611Kimmie Hey Love! Having some delays responding here but HELOOO! ;O) Congratulations on your transitioning! You're at bout 7 weeks now! Yaaayyy!! Keep tuned in on youtube for transitioning styles and tips to make your journey as easy as possible. Keep in touch and let us know how it's going ;o) --tia
@Nickyloveslove You are such a blessing ;o) Well, I would have run, but I got to talking and walking with my best friend (she slowed me down girl) LOL It was a nice walk. We only felt shame wihen a like 90 year old man was crossing the finish line just as we were getting started. *shame*. Hahahah. BUT... my training was not for nothing. I built up a love for running and a consistent running schedule to this day. Thanks Love ;o) Happy, Prosperous, Healthy, Safe New Year.
I am currently transitioning from pressed hair not relaxed, however, when I do two strand twists they come out extremely flat with no body like your and others I have seen. What am I doing wrong? What should I do differently? I twist on slightly damp hair with Shea butter and a little flax seed gel. I absolutely love my two strand twists but hate how flat they are. Help!

I agree with you on the importance of reading your own hair! Two strand twists are low maintenance and very versatile..great video!
@imjusdayy Yes, I really just found out how well they work for styling and protecting. I didn't get to enjoy them too much on my transitioning hair b/c of the relaxed ends. Now I love to wear them. Thanks Love!

Wow, your hair has grown!! Love the twist out!!
@ImLovingCeeCee Hey! IDK for sure. It's very coily--has lots of coil definition. Maybe that's 4a??? Hey Doll---Thanks for the Love
Your hair is beautiful! can't wait for my hair to grow to that length

@napturallycurly Thanks hunnybunny! Yup, love the two strand twists as a way of avoiding possible breakage.
Love your hair like that! Gorgeous!
@AlannaLoren Thanks Love!

How did you get your hair so bouncy?
Can yu deep condition medium sized twists ?? Or will my hair get frizzy??
I am currently transitioning from pressed hair not relaxed, however, when I do two strand twists they come out extremely flat with no body like your and others I have seen. What am I doing wrong?
