Why not disclose that your use of CoQ10 is that you have been prescribed a statin?

About 15 years ago, I was taking protein powders and various different vitamins. Then I became jaundiced and it turns out I was poisoning myself with all the supplements. Today I only take a multi and a C. My yearly bloodwork has been good without all the dangerous supplements.

I have an elderly friend who almost died from taking high doses of zinc. He was lethargic and unable to get out of bed. He was admitted into the hospital but no one could find the problem. They almost sent him home to die, but his wife insisted that they find the right specialist to diagnose him. It turned out that he had been taking megadoses of Zinc for years and it had leached the copper out of his blood. He is in a rehab center where he was given infusions of copper. Unfortunately he will never walk again due to permanent nerve damage.

Very important information. Seems like every generation goes through its share of snake oil sales that promises cure all's. With online social media influencers the proliferation of endorsements is staggering. Thanks Orin Hatch! His family has made tens of millions of people's hope.

When I was in sales for a broker, one of our brands we represented was Rainbow Light. I was amazed at how much research went into their product, and how much information they shared with us on a weekly basis. I'm no longer in the industry, but I am still a faithful customer of their multis, vitamin c, and calcium. 😊

I would have preferred to see some tips on discerning bad products from good.
The end result I took from the video is that here's another way you're getting screwed, and you can't do anything about it.

Be sure to ask your doctor to order the specific lab work to check your B-12 levels because some medications (such as Metformin) block absorption of B-12 so an oral supplement won’t help. B-12 levels don’t show up on routine blood tests, and a severe deficiency has debilitating side effects.

I take a half Kirkland multivitamin daily just to make sure. Anything else is a waste of money for most people. Of course, do as your doctor says.

Protein powder is fine, just make sure you use a good clean powder from a decent company like Transparent Labs, not the crap you get off the shelf(Muscle Milk, etc.) in your grocery store as those are usually loaded with fat and cholesterol. Creatine is good, omega-3, and depending on any deficiencies you might have, a multi-vitamin. Greens powder is total BS...just eat actual vegetables and you don't have anything to worry about. Pre workouts for the most part are also BS, it's just caffeine and chemicals that is crazy overpriced. Just have a cup of black coffee or green tea before your workout. If you don't exercise or workout, do any kind of physical activity or sports, than you really don't need any of it.

I take a lot of supplements and plant ingredients, easily around 20! For example, I put maca and collagen in my smoothies daily. I also test/review supplements sent to me by companies, and I am pursuing a degree in nutrition. Here's what I do:
Only use companies' you vet, look for third party testing, GMP facility certified and research what you are taking and know why you are taking it! Also, you need to know what you don't want in them, such as talc, soy or magnesium stearate (anti-caking agent). Good supplements can optimize your physiology. They are nothing to be scared of! For example, taking aloe or slippery elm for better digestion is a good thing. Plants heal!

Does Mr. Clark take CoQ10 to counteract muscle achiness from a statin?
I believe these Dietary supplements need to be tested, backed by solid research, and regulated.

I read that the guidelines for statins has been changed and updated.
Some type of new risk calculator.
Many may not need to be taking statins because they are not eligible based on new equations.
      American Heart Association
So in a year or two your doctor may tell you that statins are no longer necessary.

It’s also in June 21 JAMA and other places.
Google something like “new statin risk calculator” and you should find articles about it.

WHY would a Respected Cardiac Surgeon (who already is in the TOP 1%) hurt their Credibility by Hawking a pill??? Dr. Gundry is a Perfect Example... And so many others do this... It is Disgusting how ignorant (and Greedy) these Doctors are.... Even if they think they are helping the public... THE PUBLIC PERCEPTION IS PURE GREED .
