Thanks for recommending the USB airpump! just nice i can try to get and try it out! my branded Ehiem pump seems to be operating very low air bubbles after i checked.
So many diy tricks. This is amazing. I am considering getting one or 2 for one tank I have but it needs to be quiet. Thanks for the video and the resistor trick
how much power these pumps consumes? I use a big air pump for ponds and dimm it down, Hailea V60. Dimmed it consumes very low energy and is also super silent.
I am just rewatching all your old videos until you're back :) Take your time with the little one . How are you powering all your usb air pumps? Separate adapter for each one?
I can confirm, they are very silent and have replaced all my airpumps. I run currently 7 of these and never had one fail. @shrimpmania i will switch to the UGF box, do you have 1 or 2 pumps installed per box?
What is the result if you use a single USB pump with the larger dual sponge filter? Also, have you had many of these USB pumps fail? What's the average lifespan of these pumps?
Hey, one pump is a little bit weak for a large dual filter I would use 2 pumps. Now I switched to 3 pumps per ugf and 2 per sponge filter. I like to have a good flow in my tanks. Well it's been a year or so since I started using them. A lot of them failed like 15 at least. I'm using around 40 now in my shrimp room. Bought a lot when I was in Thailand they are super cheap in Asia, around $2 each so I'm not so worry about faulty ones. The only problem is if you plug them in one usb plug if one fail it can short circuit your usb charger and all the pumps connected to that usb wont work
@@ShrimpMania thanks. It's just that I do already have a large dual-filter. So if I use a USB pump with the large dual-filter, will it at least suck a bit slower? Or will it be completely ineffective?
yesterday i ran a comparison between an aps 50 and one of these silent usb pumps. the aps 50 registered 36db and the silent usb mini pump 43 db rather surprising
How time work this pump? The whole mechanics with those bendy tires seems pretty unreliable to me. I don't think this thing will have many working hours.
Have you had any fail? I have bought these before, but a couple have failed over time. I keep one around just for the reason to plug into a power bank. For me they are great emergency back up pumps and for potability. Thanks for the information.
Oh man should be such a hassle to charge all these things. I really recommend you hiblow air pump super silent and powerful, all my tanks are in my salon and can't hear a thing appart filters running. They are a bit pricey but totally worth the investment.
@@ShrimpMania ah i see 😂 nevertheless with all tanks you got I definitely think it's worth having a central air system, your filters gonna run way better as well. For me hiblow was a game changer, linear piston is really the best you can get in term of air pump.
@@yukimura1sanada Yes I agree, still worrying about any extra noise. I'm thinking in the feature I can install it in the loft upstairs and run the pipe through the ceiling. Meanwhile I don't think I need more air pressure for the filter than I can get for a dual usb pump though. UGFs don't need a lot of flow otherwise they expire faster because more water runs through the soil and also soil breaks more easily creating dust in the tank. For the sponge filters yes a little bit more power would be handy. I know looks a bit weird to have dozens small pumps instead on big one but this is how I am😄
these pumps are great! mines been running non stop for 13 months now
So is it still working? I really want to know

Glad it was helpful! They are awesome pumps very quite but only last for roughly a year so be aware this is a big downside
@@ShrimpMania oh darn, ok that sucks. Will do some. Orr research, thanks for the update!! Keep up the great work
Yeh bro In india I can make this air pump in less than 2 dollars. 😂😂 By solding a usb cable with the air pump motor 👍
@@aaryan1656 I love it
Great information im going to look buy and try!
Sure they are great little pump. I have 2-3 faulty ones in one year so be aware they might not be running for very long
That’s super quiet. Thanks for the tip.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Just ordered one from eBay after watching this video, thanks.
Glad I could help
So is it still running
good video very informative
Thank you🙂

Hey, thank you appreciate it. With wall plugs plus a 4-way usb hub
@@ShrimpMania I should have watched the whole video before commenting. You mention it in the video.

2 would be better I even used 3 in some of my tanks
@@ShrimpMania thanks! Do you know what size of tanks derek uses in his shrimps affair shop?

Removing the resistor sounds like a fire hazard waiting to happen
This is what I am worried about too

Hey Steve, using them for almost a year non of them broke yet. They are great for emergency indeed.
I have two and while they didn't fully fail they sometimes don't turn on on their own. You need to shake them a bit and then they work.

Thanks man, I'll look into it. They run from usb wall plugs not from charger btw so I don't need to charge them😄
Which model do you have?

Can this usb air pump run 24hours?
Yes i run them 24/7
@@ShrimpMania wow thanks👍
How did you install your auto water fill? Thanks
I've got a video on my channel
Вот зачем нужен этот резистор! Спасибо!
Пф. Можно было просто сделать обмотки двигателя мощнее.
Существует ли насос такого же размера, но мощнее?
Need a link to the pump
I just search it on ebay/amazon
Where i can buy this pump? I realy need
Try to google idk depends where you are
How'd those work for you? I've used several for temporary setups, and they all failed in short order.
they do work for 6-12 months and break down, not very reliable but very easy to use and very quite
How many liter are your tanks ?
The lager ones 90L the rest 50L except a couple ones which are a little bit smaller
For me those pumps are 13€ a piece 😢
Try Alli express they only a few backs each there
@@ShrimpMania Oh yeah I see only 3€. Will they still be the same quality?
@@TimVanS they are all the same make sure its not the plastic one. The one with the rubber case is better quality
