Re those tires, don't forget about the poor road braking, and handling. I guess if your off road most of the time it's worth it. Personally I drive on the black stuff 90% of the time so off road tires just doesn't make sense.
They have really good road manners for a fairly aggressive all terrain which is nice. Everything is a compromise though - I avoid running mud tyres as I don't like the way they drive on the road (and I hate mud) - biggest downside is the extra fuel usage from a much heavier tyre

Hey mate - bought this one here - www.mangoracing.net/shop/p/toyota-fortuner-2015-2020-3rd-row-seat-hole-covers-f6f5r-7lp2z
@@OverlandNZTV oh good. thanks!
How's the tyre rub going after a few months, have you had to make any changes for clearance or is it all good?
No issues at all - haven’t noticed it rubbing after I took the mud flaps off. Not a lot I can do to increase tyre clearance without chopping or maybe chucking a bar on and pull the castor forward, so happy that it’s working well
I thought red rocks was closed. Btw congratulations for the kid and truck.
Was shut briefly at the end of last year. All open again 👍 Cheers!
Any chance you have a name or link for what those usb plugs are called? Struggling. Nice truck
Orders these ones - went with red though, would go blue if I was ordering again

Hi,
Just a quick question, would doing modifications like lifts etc affect my toyota warranty?
Heya - only affects the parts you change. If you lift it and a shock fails, Toyota won’t cover that (the shock manufacture will) - but if you lift it and the engine blows up, Toyota will
I’ve had warranty work done to mine fully setup no worries. But only on things that I haven’t touched
@OverlandNZTV many thanks for the reply back mate! Hope you and your family doing well through rough time in NZ. Love your videos and all the info you post.
Thanks
Ronnie
Where do you get that bonnet guard?
Bought it from my local Toyota dealer - way cheaper than anywhere else here in NZ
Hi my name is garry. I am in Australia . Current drive fortuner 2022 gx. I saw ur video regarding wheels upgrade. Did u lift vehicle or do any changes when put 265/70/17 tyer . Is ur vehicle giving any problem without any lifting u put this wheels? Pls reply waiting.
Heya - pretty sure I mentioned it in the video, if not - no lift, no need for one size up. Front mud flaps came off, that's all that I needed to do - nothing scrubs. Depends hugely on your wheel width and offset though. Only "issue" (and I use that term lightly) is worse fuel economy and it can be slightly harder to get it into sixth
@@OverlandNZTV thanks bro
HI Mate, could you please share the link to Boot protector? Keen to buy one
Hey - I bought this one - www.mangoracing.net/shop/p/toyota-fortuner-2015-2020-3rd-row-seat-hole-covers-f6f5r-7lp2z - arrived pretty quickly, seems to do the trick nicely
Hey bro what size of tyre and Rim and which company of tyre and rim. I am planning to buy fortuner
Hey mate - they’re a 265/70R17 Maxxis RAZR AT on 17x9 +15 Sniper Ballistic rims
@@OverlandNZTV thank you so much brother
What offset did you go for the 17s?
They’re a 17x9 +15 👍
Where do you buy the scuff mat for the bumper bro
Bought it from the Mango Racing website - have pulled it off though, was damaging the paint on my boot door sadly. Otherwise it was a cool idea
Hi I'm mate I have my Fortuner on order. I want to order my rims just wondering what offset are you're rims are? Thanks Robin
Heya, oh nice! Hopefully the wait isn’t too bad. They’re a 17x9 +15 rim 👍 wanted a 17x8 0 offset but couldn’t get the rims I wanted in that size so had to go up to a 9” wide
Thanks very much. I was lucky I managed to order a car that was on the boat so it will be here in a fortnight 👍
Bro where did get your bumper cover
This is the one I got - www.mangoracing.net/shop/p/toyota-fortuner-2015-2020-3rd-row-seat-hole-covers-f6f5r-7lp2z - looks like they're out of stock at the moment though
@@OverlandNZTV any thoughts on the bumper protector after your time with the car now?
@@camgrice Strange timing - I was looking at it yesterday. Mine has warped and it rubbing on the boot slightly which isn’t ideal. I lifted part of it up and it has defo scratched the bumper a little underneath - which I expected, stuff gets under it then gets stuck. I like the way it looks though - so not sure what my next move is as I want to stop it rubbing on the boot before it does any damage to the paint
@@OverlandNZTV thanks for this, I wish Toyota made one.
Hey ! What offset are those rims :)
Heya - they’re a 17x9 +15 offset wheel - fit perfectly on a Fortuner
@@OverlandNZTV awesome thanks so much im looking for some new wheel for my tuna 😁😁 your build looks mint
Are the oem tyre Dunlop PT?
PT2 or PT3?
They’re Dunlop PT22 👍
Are you thinking rhino bar?
Sure am, haven’t seen one in person, but they’re the only bar that has caught my attention
@@OverlandNZTV yep same here. Might have to pull the trigger.
Hey mate, what’s your tyre size?
Hey mate - they're a 265/70R17 on a 17x9 +15 offset rim. Hope that helps!
@@OverlandNZTV thanks mate, definitely. I’ll get my fortuner next month, so excited.
sorry, me again ***rolls eyes*** LOL.... can I please ask.... we have a limited height in our garage (1.93mtrs)..... if I upgraded to Maxxis Razr AT's, but bought them in the stock size (265/65R17), using the stock wheels/rims, am I missing out HUGELY compared to 265/70R17?..... It's just that I want a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform and Backbone like yours (I still have a heap of accessories that I have from my Disco 4, so don't want to change ecosystem), but also have to still fit into the garage at home (wife's stipulation LOL). Thanks in advance, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland, Perth WA)
Honestly, you’re not missing out on much. Car will sit in 6th gear much more easily with stock size - less weight with smaller tyre etc. All depends what you’re doing with the car though and how far off road you’re heading. I went with it as I’ve run this size for years and found it to be the sweet spot - looks kinda cool too, fills out the arches much better. All personal opinion
Hey bro what offset did you use? And tyre size? Cheers
Hey mate - tyres are a 265/70R17 on 17x9 +15 offset rims 👍
Can you send me the link for the rear bumper guard cheers
Purchased this one from here - www.mangoracing.net/shop/p/toyota-fortuner-2015-2020-3rd-row-seat-hole-covers-f6f5r-7lp2z
hi, is the bigger tyre fits well without lift?
Had to remove the front mud flaps - no issues apart from that. Lift doesn’t fix that issue either, wheel alignment might
What is this tire, what is its name, what is the price of these tires
They’re a Maxxis RAZR AT811. Price depends on size you’re going for and any deals you can find
The tire size fitted on your Fortuner should be the same. What is the size of your tyre?
It's a 265/70R17 - one size up from the 265/65R18s it came on 👍
Wheel size and alloy ?
265/70R17 19x9 +15
Can u put links to the products NZ fortuner owner
Tyres and wheels are from Orizen Tyres - www.orizen.co.nz/
USB ports - www.aliexpress.com/item/33063615762.html
Bumper protector - www.mangoracing.net/shop/toyota-fortuner
Hope that helps!
Whats the width/offset on those wheels
Wheels are a 17x9 +15 👍 (completely forgot to mention it in the video)
@@OverlandNZTV awesome,thanks bro
So only slight rubbing on the mudflaps hey
The fortuner is looking great so far, I will be receiving my one next week.
I was wondering what size is the dual usb accessory that you put in the front? Is it 33mm x 23mm?
Cheers! Oh nice - not a long wait now! Hopefully pickup goes smoothly.
I'm using these ones - www.aliexpress.com/item/33063615762.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802Sg4aTN - ordered red by accident, blue would've been a better choice. Hope that helps!
@@OverlandNZTV Thankyou for the link, I have ordered some. Have you or would you know of a tutorial video on how to remove the Centre console near cigarette lighter?
@@collessa82 No worries! I found a random video on RUclips for how to remove it in a Hilux and then crossed it with this article www.fortunerforum.com.au/forum/main-forum/tech/interior/1940-how-to-remove-console-dash
Wasn't too hard though. Remove the trim around the top air vents and work your way down. Hardest bit was getting the soft touch pieces off (and back on)
@@OverlandNZTV Thankyou, the article is very helpful.
Cool. That grass looks burnt.
Summer time 👍
Re those tires, don't forget about the poor road braking, and handling.
Install
underbody protection
Comes with ok-ish plates from the factory. Better ones will be fitted at some point though!
