I have just listened to this 12 times on the trot, the early eighties, what a time to be young. Shalamar was part of the magic. Let's not forget Jeffrey Daniel 'walked on the Moon' before MJ.
Jody had the voice range of a sea lion. Howard could sing but so can many singers today. Jeffrey was just there to dance. Always bashing the present means one lives in the past. Best part of this joint is the bassline. Incredible.

You could call it lightweight pop-dance of the time, but with Howard Hewitt's sweet vocals, a great bass-line and lyrics of a not-too-vomit-inducing nature ("Other guys say that they can give you the world, but a world of love is what you'll get from me") this is pure quality from one of the best-selling dance labels of the time (SOLAR records) and deserves to be called one of the most perfectly-constructed dance tunes of the '80's ☺
