Thanks for the paint wisdom Scott! We’d love to see video’s on how you handle repairs on old plaster walls in houses that don’t have heavy (nor even light) textures? What do you do to blend a repair on smooth walls… especially 100 yr old plaster walls? Thanks again!
Don’t do a lot of that around here In Texas did a bunch of it in New Orleans when I lived there. But it’s not much different than any other drywall repair best way to get a smooth finish on it is to do tape float and skim each coat dry prior to the next. And use some 120 or 150 grit sandpaper to sand and blend hope this helps thanks
Great video...always. What do you recommend for concealing grey sanding sponge stain on newly double-primed and double-paint-coated drywall ceiling (used Sherwin-Williams multi-purpose latex based primer and S-W Cashmere latex based paint on the ceiling)? Thanx
We patch and paint same day every day! Heat guns are a blessing from the Lord! As long as you make sure that everything is completely dry why not? Time is money!
They are repairing my ceiling tomorrow and only painting the area that they are going to repair. I’m nervous about it!! I hope it turns out OK. Fingers crossed!
Congratulations for getting so many thousands of subscribers...you earned it with great advice and VG videos ! Keep it Rollin' Southern Style !
Thanks bro…
Thank you for demonstrating the feather roll.
Thanks, tbis was a useful video for me.
A quick suggestion , use more light for your videos

You have to prime it with an oil base. You can buy a can of pro block oil base and just spray it and then touch up paint after. Hope this helps.
@@scottssheetrockservices Thanks, I finally used 3 coats of Kilz Original and 2 coats of Shellac...worked like a charm !
Hey Scott! Just wanted to see your thoughts on patch and paint on the same day.

How did it turn out? Did the ceiling paint blend with the old paint?
What if the customer used a satin paint for the ceiling? Would you prime the patch then? Thank you
If it was a satin paint, yes you would have to prime and then spot paint the patch one time and then paint the entire ceiling for it to match
I want to see it when it’s dry
Well, that was a few years ago… But I have a one-year warranty on all of my work, and they never called and complained just saying!
