  • Bear with me as I redo some videos, due to over zealous youtube robots. I get tired of doing claim-counterclaims, so it is better in the long run to just get rid of the problem. But, its a pain re-doing them as the original files no longer exist, so audio reconstruction is needed. Some I have redone half a dozen times before getting it right, as each edit another robot with another opinion has its say. Re-watch them if you wish, otherwise bear with me til I get some new material out. Thanks for your understanding.

I clearly understand your frustration, but this is not even the worst trend!
Some large studios are beginning to just use content from RUclips as fair usage, when they then upload their video, do RUclips's algorithm find the original user's video and flag it for breaking the copyright on the studio's creation!

A common one is essentially a scam. Lots of people releasing their music as free use generally using fake accounts. They then copyright claim en masse usually automatically and for anyone complaining, they usually just say that the one who originally uploaded it saying it was free was someone else who stole it. They just reap heavy ad revenue. It's beem common for years.

Oh , that's a new slant on it for me. What I am facing now are videos done as much as 10 years ago and have had no issues til recently, with music from mostly jamendo.com , which back then was the major creative commons website and reliable. I do not use it now because creators rushed in to get exposure, then realized as traffic increased, that they could make some money and changed their minds. There is very little cc-by and cc-0 now. What creators and curators may not realize is that once you put music out in creative commons or public domain, you really should not, or even cannot take it back. Each of the strikes I have appealed I have won, because of this: I have licenses for said musics. But it is a pain to attend to, and I also want to use this Frogo series elsewhere, and want to avoid a repetition of the same time waster. Sad that what you say exists.

Somehow , I feel insulted as a creator by youtube on this one. They create a problem, and then try and force one to use their solution, which is a poor solution. As I have said, using their libraries is lazy in my opinion, it takes away creativity to find or generate original content, and every man and his dog is using the same library, resulting in cookie cutter audio across the whole youtube platform. What they need to do is very simple. If I have a claim, do not give 100% of revenue to the claimant but write some short, simple code to determine the percentage of the video the music is used in, and give that percentage to the claimant. I am quite happy to pay even mistaken creative commons authors a fair percentage.
