Preach it brother! I'm just glad I got some deals and got some (sub $0.03) stock before the plandemic hit. I was loading .223 for just a few cents more than the current price of a primer.
DO37.2 High density, double base, ball propellant similar to Accurate No. 9 is most suitable for 44 Magnum. This propellant gives excellent velocities for the pressures generated and with less flash than other comparable powders. It is intended for use in large capacity handgun cartridges (.357, 41, 44 Magnum and 454 Casull). It is also suitable for some small rifle cartridges (.25-20 Winchester, .30 M1 Carbine) and the .410 shotgun. It is the best with heavier bullets in most calibres. Our slowest handgun propellant. So yes this is a double base powder this is directly from thier own PDf download
I really like some of the Shooters World powders. It’s been a perfect storm for them to get out into the USA market. At the beginning of Covid they were a great value. Powder was readily available and people could get the powders they wanted. Many people didn’t feel the need to try Shooters World unless they wanted to save some money. Then the shortages rolled around and every single powder in the USA sold out. Didn’t matter brand at that point, if it was available it would sale. People started to see they have some great options. They have since raised their prices to the levels of all other brands. Sometimes I have seen that they actually are more expensive. Shooters World Precision is a Fantastic powder that is every bit as good as Varget in my experience. That is a huge statement that I stand behind. I decided to get a couple lbs to stretch my Varget stash. I was blown away by the performance. I also like how it drops more consistent than Varget being it’s a touch smaller than Varget.
looks like a very good powder, haven't seen any north of the border yet but will keep my eyes open, I would definitely give it a try. Thanks for the info, great video!
Great powder! I've used it in 357mag, 300blk, and 350 Legend so far. Going to be trying some 45LC and 454 Casull here soon once I can cast up some bullets to use! If you can't find data, I've been starting with light AA#9 data and working up from there. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Cookie!

@@DummyRound In 357mag the 158gr xtp in the Accurate manual uses #9 at 12.4-13.8 grains. Shooter's World manual lists Heavy Pistol for the same bullet at 10-12.1 grains. The 44mag 300 xtp from the same manufacturer manuals is #9 14.8-16.5max vs. Heavy Pistol 12.7-14.9max. These differences are present in every bullet and every cartridge listed by both manufacturers. The burn rates are similar, but the load weights certainly differ. Using #9 data results in significant overloads with heavy pistol powder.
@@waynehager4228 you're not wrong at all, but I said if I could NOT find data for SW I would start looking at the low end of #9 loads. Luckily SW has upped their game on the load data, so most of the popular things it could be used for have data already. I wouldn't look at a load provided by SW and then try something based on #9 data. Like you said, similar, but still very different.
I'm glad you do videos like this , because of the power shortage it nice the be able to have alternate choices. I've seen that on the shelves but didn't pay to much attention to it. Plus the Alex Baldwin thing is a little long in the tooth
All true. It is said this powder was sold as No. 9 before the change. It takes some hunting around to find the information, but I have hundreds of pages of loading data on these Czech powders. The old Lyman and Accurate books, articles are invaluable. They are military grade powders used by by amunition manufactures, and competitors around the world. I load 9mm, 38, 357,44,45,45 Colt, 300 blk, 45/70 with Shooters World powders. They all meter well in the Dillon. While not the cheapest per round, in come calibers. Ultimate pistol can be used to load just about every pistol cartridge. Auto pistol will definitely cycle your most difficult pistols. These are not for new reloaders. I spend hours in starting load research.
Digging the powder reviews! As powder comes back in stock, we’ll probably get odds and ends to start with. Just bought my first jug of surplus rifle powder. Just a few test rounds so far, but it seems to be working well. Not flash suppressed, though!
I’m surprised there’s any surplus rifle powder left out there. I haven’t seen it in years. I found a couple of jugs of surplus 2400 about a decade ago. It’s good stuff if you can find it.
It makes sense that it works for both .357 Mag and .300 Blackout. If you put the cases side by side, the capacity is almost exactly the same. I’ve noticed most any powder good for .357 Mag will work well in .300 Blackout.
I have used the one one that is basically Bullseye. I can’t think of the name off the top of my head. Maybe CleanShot?? I’m very happy with it. Good stuff
Blue dot iirc is 40% or greater in nitroglycerin content - I have read 40% and have read 60%, either way it is one of the powders with the highest content. As a result it tends to burn hot. 4227 on the other hand is single base believe it or not. It works fairly well in magnum loads and is likely to be easier with regard to throat erosion. I like both powders, blue dot is unique in a way (no pun intended), it provides many excellent loads both in pistols and shotguns.
Been looking for a .357 powdwr...I reload mostly 9mm and .45 acp and have yet to reload fior. 38/.357...I use Win 231for both of the former...thanx for this information...
Oh man, i was able to score an 8 lb jug of accurate no.9 from midway usa about a week and a half ago. It was in stock for about 1/2 a day. You have to get on the email notification lists! Now if only I could find some primers...
Shooters World powders are a little more common here but that specific powder hasn’t shown up anywhere I looked. If I see any I’ll be sure to try it as I’m low on 2400 as well.
Been experimenting with this powder in the 500 Linebaugh. It's dirty until you get the pressure up a bit. With the Accurate molds 51-355H bullet I designed I can top 1600fps but best accuracy is 1535fps for 3/4" at 25yds from a 5.5" BFR.
Hi, FC45LC. D037-2 is perfect powder for Lyman .356 130gn HP devastator bullet and for longer barrels like in carabines etc. My prefered powder here is single based S020- made mainly for 9mm Luger but suitable for most small to medium handgun rounds.

Got some a few months ago and used it in some 44 mags worked great. Lately I’ve been reloading 45-70 and actually got some Varget the guy I get it from said it has been 3 years since he was last able to get it. Also it looks like the powders are slowly coming back as I’ve gotten some 5744 imr4198,lil gun,power pistol, true blue. I know you load 45-70 have you used Accurate a4350? It is good for low power loads but it leaves lots of unburned powder even with magnum primers out of my 30” Pedersoli Sharps and a lot more from my Henry with a 19.5” barrel . So I’ve got another pound of it and once it’s gone I’ll never use it again, unless of course it’s all I can find but I think I have enough other powders to last me more than a year. By the way you can use w748 to make some shoulder bruisers with 1750+ with 405 gr.hard cast out of my Henry but they are fairly high pressure so I’ll pass on using them in my Pedersoli.

Many aa9 starting loads exceed heavy pistol max loads. Be very careful

The supersonic 300 Blk load makes me wonder how it would perform in 44 mag rifles compared to H110.

Good luck finding ANY components. Can't even find casting equipment, primers or brass. 0 powder here.
