  • In this video we will present you our new Raspberry Pi 5 and show you how to mine Verus Coin with it. The Pi 5 is the first Raspberry Pi which is capable of mining Verus Coin. So don't try this with older Pi's ;). If you have an Orange Pi 5 or Orange Pi zero 3, you can follow almost the same procedure as in this video, except you must flash an Ubuntu image instead of the Raspberry Pi Debian OS.
    Have fun mining Verus Coin on your Pi 5!!!

    Which OS to flash:
    Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit), a port of Debian Bookworm with no desktop environment
    Update and upgrade your OS:
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt upgrade
    Installing arm-optimized ccminer from the Great Oink70:
    curl o -k raw.githubusercontent.com/Oin... | bash
    Going to ccminer directory:
    cd ccminer
    Configure ccminer:
    nano config.json
    Start the miner:
    ~/ccminer/start.sh
    Connect to screen session:
    screen -r
    Leaving screen session without stopping the session:
    Ctrl-A and D
    Measuring CPU temperature:
    vcgencmd measure_temp
    Automatic startup:
    crontab -e
    @reboot ~/ccminer/start.sh

    Great video! I'll set my Pi 5 to work when it is doing nothing ;). I have also become interested in Verus.

    The pools have the "disabled": 0 or 1 option where
    0 = On will use this pool
    1 = Off will NOT use this pool
    It is easier than deleting the entry that can cause issues decoding json file for some users that don't know how to properly edit a .json file.

    on linux core virtualization android linux, in android virtualization java vm. I think on C or C++ from primary core pi4 model B will gave about the same score.

    Great video and helped me in setting up my Pi. The only issue I have is when I have to turn off my computer that has putty, the mining stops. Any suggestions besides leaving on my computer all the time?

      I think the mining keeps running in a screen session. Try to reconnect to the session the next time you login to your pi with the command: screen -r

      @@BloxyLabs I have a wattage meter connected to my pi. While mining, it pulls 9.5 watts. When I shut down my main computer with PuTTy, it runs for a few minutes at 9.5 watts, and then drops to 3 watts. I have to reboot the pi to get it to mine again. I usually do type: screen -r in putty when it is running. If I come across an fix for my issue, I will try and post here. EDIT: It was internet connection issues with my router. Works Great!!

      Leider benötigt man für den Verus-Algorithmus mindestens einen Pi5. Es funktioniert wahrscheinlich mit XMRIG, schauen Sie sich einfach mein Video über unmineable an.

    Nice video! But do you know a way to set it to mine in "hybrid mode"? Thanks!

    • @BloxyLabs
      @BloxyLabs  20 дней назад +1

      Thanks! If you use Luckpool simply place 'hybrid' in your password field to enable Hybrid Solo Mining. I think you have to replace the 'x' with 'hybrid' in the command line. You can read more on this on the bottom of the following page: luckpool.net/verus/connect.html

      @@BloxyLabsThanks for the quick answer! Yes I meant Luckpools hybrid mode. I thought I would find a setting for the pool password in config.json part but it seems like no such setting exist in that config.

      @BloxyLabs  20 дней назад +1

      @@IngoTheLock You have to put "pass": "hybrid" in the config json file. I tried it and it is working ;).

    how come this doesn't work with raspberry pi 4?

    • @BloxyLabs
      @BloxyLabs  4 месяца назад +1

      Older Raspberry Pi's don't have the cryptography extensions which are needed to run the Verus algorithm.

    • @irnthunder968

      I don't have a raspberry pi 4 so this is a guess. In the config.json file I suggest you change the number of threads from 8 to 4.

    Kind of expensive. wouldnt it be cheaper just to get a cheap phone?

    • @BloxyLabs
      @BloxyLabs  3 месяца назад +1

      It depends. If you are only going to mine, you might be better off buying a cheap mobile phone, but if you also plan to do other things than mining with the device, an RPI5 or Orange Pi 5 is an interesting option.
