    When I was in 10th class my classmate unfortunately died because of relying on Homeopathy. He had some sort of infection in his intestine and his parents got him Homeopathic treatment for a month which ultimately didn't solve the problem and it was just too late to save him.

    I would like to add my own experience here. My mother was suffering from some sort of allergy which over the period of 10 years time was not cured by allopathy medicine. My father was in army so we had her treatment from best hospitals in north like Western Command hospital, Max and fortis. But nothing seemed to work. Then we got to know about a homeopathy doctor in Patiala, who works at clinic Homecare. Well to our amaze, her allergy has been cured permanently by just having 3-4 moths of medicine from there.
    2nd experience is of my sister, who suffered from hormonals imbalance, we got her treatment from good allopathy doctors but no improvement. The same doctor cured her with homeopathic medicine within a month.
    So, what you are saying might be true in those researches, but my experience is also not false.

    This is a long story and I hope it's helpful.
    Last year during March 2020, just when the lockdown started, I returned back to my hometown from Bangalore. I was working in an IT company. Few days after I came, I had some slight chest pains. I thought it would go off as days go by. Then one day, I heard a news that one of my relative had a heart attack. I started panicking. So I told my parents and they all started panicking. At that time there were not much hospitals open. We went to a multi specialty hospital they took an ECG and said I was fine. They gave me some sleeping tablets and told me to take rest and this could be because of stress. I did that but the small chest pain remained.
    Then one day, my mom visited her long time family friend/homeopathy doctor. She asked about my symptoms and specifically asked if I had pain when I breathe in and out. And yes, the pain was caused by my lungs. She told my mom to get some test and chest x ray and meet her soon. Next day we took the tests and met her. She saw the x ray and asked me multiple questions. And finally said I had chronic bronchitis. I was very surprised because I don't smoke. Then I asked her like why are you telling it's chronic and not acute. During this time , my mom mentioned I had some wheezing problem when I was 1 year old. She pointed that out and said I have been having this since a kid and it's becoming more problematic now. I trusted her because she was someone who we knew for a long time. She gave some medicines and told me I had to take it for a year and it can be fixed.
    After taking the medication for a week the pain went off. So I started trusting her more. At the same time, I wanted to check with other doctors but no one were available due to lockdown. Then I got busy with my college applications and continued to take my medicine. Then I started researching about everything and understood I never had any symptoms for chronic bronchitis except for the slight chest pain. It didn't make sense at all for me. But I thought the symptoms will kick in anytime soon and I could fix it by taking medication properly.
    Then I had to leave India to pursue my higher studies. Once I reached here I started researching more about homeopathy and started wondering why I am not getting any symptoms. Met a doctor here, took some tests and he confirmed I never had chronic bronchitis.
    From this I concluded that I probably had some small problem. The homeopathy doctor used that and make it look like I had a chronic disease so that I would be getting medicines for more than a year and they get very good income. And when it ends, they would say they cured a disease that I never had. Then I would believe them and end up taking homeopathy for life. But I didn't end up there thanks to science.
    Bottom line is do not fall for homeopathy. It's a scam.

      For example when I had jaundice as a child, I was given ayurvedic medicines. When I got cured I was very impressed with ayurvedic medicines. But later I found out that jaundice normally gets cured without the need of any medicines as the liver cures itself. So we can not conclude that the medicine workes. It's still a scam.

      OshO on Homeopathy:
      Homeopathy goes still a little deeper. It works on the manomayakos, the mental body. The founder of homeopathy, Hahnemann, discovered one of the greatest things ever discovered, and that was:
      the smaller the quantity of the medicine, the deeper it goes. He called the method of making homeopathic medicine 'potentizing'. They go on reducing the quantity of the medicine. He would work in this way: he would take a certain amount of medicine and would mix it with ten times the amount of milk sugar or with water. One quantity of medicine, nine quantities of water; he would mix them. Then he would again take one quantity of this new solution, and would again mix it with nine times more water, or milk sugar. In this way he would go on: again from the new solution he would take one quantity and would mix it with nine times more water. This he would do, and the potency would increase. By and by, the medicine reaches to the atomic level. It becomes so subtle that you cannot believe that it can work; it has almost disappeared. That is what is written on homeopathic medicines, the potency: ten potency, twenty potency, one hundred potency, one thousand potency.
      The bigger the potency, the smaller is the amount. With ten thousand potency, a millionth of the original medicine has remained, almost none. It has almost disappeared, but then it enters the most deep core of manomaya. It enters into your mind body. It goes deeper than acupuncture. It is almost as if you have reached the atomic, or even the sub-atomic level. Then it does not touch your body.
      Then it does not touch your vital body; it simply enters. It is so subtle and so small that it comes across no barriers. It can simply slip into the manomayakos, into the mental body, and from there it starts working. You have found an even bigger authority than the pranamaya.

    Homoeopathy helped me when scientific medicine, including repeated surgeries and steroids couldn't. I still see it as placebo, and it is really sad that people get duped into believing that homeopathic treatments are better as a rule when compared to scientific medicine. The strange and funny thing about the placebo effect is that it is equally effective even if the person is aware that it is just a placebo, so it is not even necessary to pretend that treatments like homeopathy are backed by some scientifically studied mechanism. I think it's a good option if all options in scientific medicine fail but it's important to recognize it as what it is - just placebo.

      I am not sure about placebo. When I was pretty sick me and my dad went to multiple doctors including Allopathic and ayurveda doctors. Ayurveda didn’t work and allopathy didn’t really offer a good solution. Then we went to a homeopath who talked about me and my condition for an hour, made notes and the whole thing. Gave medications and they didn’t work. By this time I had completely given up any hope, had zero trust in any doctor because all of them claimed they knew how to help me and they all failed. My uncle referred me to another homeopath, went there, talked to me for 5 minutes. Got the medicine and left and I was already much better in a week. My friend had alopecia 2 years back and there was a prominent bald patch above his ear. He tried allopathy which didn't work. Later he took homeopathic medicines and the alopecia just went away.
    And trust me it was fairly detailed. The doctor even said the new hair will grow in grey color initially and later blend in with the actual black hair. That's exactly what happened over a period of 2-3 months. Does placebo explain this too? Very genuine question, I have no refined opinion on homeopathy yet.

    The person given med. Is not qualified doctor, only work at medical store. In this system med. Is not given on basis of give me sleeping pills, give me fever pills, give me cold cough pills etc etc.
    A proper case history is taken accordingly doctor decides the med. Only on the basis of symptom similarity ie; matching symptoms of patient with symp./ Characteristics of med. After that also dr. Only decide potency based on susceptibility of the patient, along with repeatation and thus with proper follow up cure happens.

The medicines were wrapped in paper cost just Rs 1 or 2 per paper wrap. Even in 1982, that isn't much. I think you should take into account who the homeopath doctor is, not just judge homeopathy as a form of treatment.

    • @scooby_doo216
      @scooby_doo216 3 года назад +6

      You know, the founder of Homoeopathy was himself an allopath(MBBS dr)! He himself criticised Allopathy because it works on the principle of SUPPRESSION.
      For example, if you've any kind of dermatitis & you apply ointment, the disease will get suppressed but it won't be removed from it's root cause.. and you'll later get some major disease than that skin ailment, for example say, coryza. And it'll be difficult to remove it because the MIASM has changed. I would suggest you to Google this because we've a whole different subject on this. I won't be able to explain you here.
      Homoeopathy also takes into account emotional & mental state at the time of the disease along with physical symptoms of the patient in their case taking. This is because, Dr. Hahnemann believed that the main seat of any disease is the MIND.
      1. For example, if a person has faced humiliation from his boss in front of everyone, then due to that anger & hurt suppressed, he might get fever. Homoeopathy is prescribed just not on the basis of that fever but also the emotional state of the patient during & before the disease.
      2. Or in case of pediatrics too.. If a woman missing her parent's house but due to some of her husband issues, she can't visit her parent's house, she starts to miss them & at the same time, breastfeeds her baby.. Then, the baby might get fever or diarrhoea.. She visits a Homoeopath & the Homoeopathic Dr takes into account the emotional state during breastfeeding not just the diarrhoea..
      There is also an important concept called "SUSCEPTIBILITY" or in layman terms, immunity in Homoeopathy.
      EG. If there are two friends & they've enjoyed in the rain. But the next day, one gets fever & the other gets pneumonia. Why?
      This susceptibility decides on which potency the Homoeopathic medicine should be prescribed.
      There is also another concept called INDIVIDUALISATION.
      EG. If two people gets pneumonia, other than the common pathological symptoms of pneumonia, there will be some characteristic symptoms which will differentiate the case of both the patients in spite of suffering from the same disease. These are called CHARACTERISTIC SYMPTOMS. Allopaths doesn't take into account these characteristic symptoms.. so they'll prescribe you the same remedy they're giving to other patients suffering from the same disease. Sometimes, only the name differ but the content is the same.
      THE EXAMPLES MENTIONED HERE ARE SOME TRUE CASES. 😌

    I think the reason homeopathy thrives is not because of the placebo affect, but rather ailments which go away on their own and thinking homeopathy did that

    • @AhSjdv
      @AhSjdv 3 месяца назад

      That's not the case, I had allergic bronchitis or something, previously it came in winter for few occasions, I took allopathic medicine and it went. Now in 10th, it started to happen more frequent, as soon I was off the medication I would have the breathing problem. So he gave me permanent medicine for a year or so, but it had no effect on curing the disease, bc as soon as I do not take the medication for a day, it happened again
      So I switched to homeopathy. And it worked. I took it for 1-2 years, with no extra lifestyle changes, and it gradually decreased. And now it never happens
      So it can't be a placebo effect as even during homepathic medicine it happened sometimes, and I did not completely believe that it could cure me,. Also it didn't go by time
      So there's a third reason
      That is the medication worked

    I also believe the same and my parents too, like the placebo effect, but I wanted to share one thing, few 2 years back my mother got detected with gallstones (size of around 22mm) and allopathy didn't have any cure for this right? like we took medicines but didn't work , but when someone told about its homeopathy med, and that his relative got better with it and there is such renewed doc here in our city , so we thought to try it out else we had the only option to wait till the pain rises more and get gall bladder removed which we were fearing of course , so we thought to just give homeopathy med a try, and to our surprise and also to the doc's surprise who was performing ultrasound test, she detected the size of gallstone had reduced to 17mm;
    so this was the story, see what we all know is , slow effect, and yeah ofc placebo effect since for small disease , duration of treatment won't do anything but just normally cure - like in case of fever
    but gall stone size always increases, then how it worked?
    and also as per some rules of homeopathy, she had to avoid eating certain food and ingredients , not avoid like full ban kinda, among which i remember was raw onion which we used to eat in salad
    now she takes but sometimes leave medication due to its avoid rules, and we hadn't get tested, but the pain wasn't there so we had just kept on hold, but I had to share the above story, so you might research on that , because I believe you would come up with an answer

    I was troubled with immense gastric issues for almost a decade, having both my parents as medical doctors we had left no stone unturned rather no sort of specialist consultation or allopathic treatment was left. Interestingly I had all these meds with complete faith that this would heal me completely (considering the power of placebo as well), but only to get disappointed and ever lurking fear of hemorrhoids, fissure and at last surgery. Being from a medical background our family including me were always critical about these alternative medicines, condemning them to be unscientific, hence never even considered! Then a friend suggested trying homeo, despite of any kind faith or something I went ahead and I cannot tell how much a month's medications have worked. See, the thing is not about those pills, it's more about the practitioner who is treating you. The doctor I consulted didn't even ask me a single question about my issue, rather very general things about personality and all. All I can say is, that is worked for me.

    • @La_inconsolable
      @La_inconsolable 2 года назад +5

      Saahil what you described is just an anectodal evidence. It might just be that somehow you got diagnosed improperly(not blaming anyone ). Even I had gastric problems and tried a lot of home remedies suggested by my mother but nothing worked for months. Suddenly one day I stopped them while she was not in my city and slowly without doing anything I started feeling better. Again an anecdote without any proper medication. Sometimes the encouragement or the belief that it's fine nothing has worked but I'll live through is enough to have some motivation and no one knows how exactly placebo works so if you feel your homeopathic medicines cured your symptoms rather than your body doing it automatically then you are missing the point of this video, to develop a scientific thinking.
      Homeopathy in short is dissolving an active ingredient in water and then diluting it to a huge extent and the belief that water(or mixture) still magically retains all the properties before the dilution just due to the fact that that have been vigorously shaken.
      I ask you one question. Would you invest 1 CR of money if you don't know how a firm is turning it into 1.5 CR in 5 years(with no transparency or documentation or any gurantee if the firm is regulated or not) or would you rather invest in guaranteed returns like FD which can give you guaranteed returns? I totally understand your entire video and yes I agree to it but there's one point you missed. You said that your mom mixed the identical looking pills. The pills are just for the flavour and they do nothing , docs add a distasteful tonic (in very minute quantities as you correctly described in the video). That tonic is the medicine which is "supposed to heal" and the small white pills are just to add sweetness to out taste buds. I'm not very much sure why it is done that but one homeopathy student said that mostly babies and kids are treated by homeopathy to avoid side effects of allopathic medicine and they won't take the bitter solution therefore to make it easy for them to take these solutions they started adding the sweet pills. And one more reason might be the dilution again.

    I used to get severe headaches. Took many allopathic medicines, but provided only temporary relief.
    .
    My homoeopathic doctor made a medicine, it did not work, he tried again, it worked a little, he tried again, and then created a panacea for my headache problems. Whenever I get severe headache, I just have to take that medicine.

      @@scienceisdope Glad to know bro.
      The white sugar balls you swallowed during the video looks similar to the one I ate when I was caught with chicken pox. My mother and and my asshole brother forced me not to take modern medicine and to take this homeopathy medicine. And the result is, out of 18 people in my office, only me suffered the most with pain and blisters allover my body including mouth 😭 and I couldn't even stand straight due to the "no salt" diet prescribed this homeopath. I could barely sit on the bed. Couldn't sleep due to the blisters on the back side. Due to this heavy blisters, I got some permanent marks on my face and nose area. I don't think it's due to homeopathy since it doesn't have any effect but sure because I did not take the proper medicine. It's frustrating to realise that among 18 of my office mates, only me got forced to take this risk that too by not understanding my pain

    There’s a homeopathy doctor in my city. He did his degree from the German Homeopathy college where Homeopathy started. He has done his research in this from friggin Harvard!!! I’m not even kidding it’s a genuine degree from Harvard. Why are all these Ivy league colleges supporting this farce?!
    And this guy is young, knowledgeable, and the strangest part.. he asks you to get blood teats done, and any tests that a medical physician would ask for before giving a diagnosis. Don’t know what he’s up to..
    I do not believe in Homeopathy personally, but every other person speaks highly of this guy’s medicine and people around me, who have gone to him with some severe health issues have been cured - so to speak - the only con is the medicine goes on for about 1 year or so.. even more in some cases.
