I was very disheartened and angry on seeing platforms like TED amplifying such voices. While speaking and publishing nonsense cannot be outlawed for the sake of freedom of speech, it should be actively discouraged and called out. How can we reach out to platforms like TED and push them to remove such content that can actually affect people's lives and divert them from legitimate solutions ???

I thought he had a doctorate in philosophy but I was surprised to find out that he was a cardiologist and a recipient of the Padma Bhushan. Being a surgical gastroenterologist myself, after spending 13 years studying medicine, Dr B M Hegde’s speeches were an eye opener for me. Being a health professional I can tell you our current standard of evidence which is meta analysis and randomised controlled trials which are considered as the highest level of evidence Do not do justice for chronic diseases. Chronic diseases are multifactorial involving all the systems of the body and we cannot cure them with our reductionist approach. I’ve been able to treat the so called “irreversible diseases” after applying mind-body approach, correcting their nutritional biochemistry, correcting the microbiome, and balancing their autonomic nervous system. The so called “pseudo-science” approach believes in systems biology, understanding the interconnectedness and communication between various systems of our body, This cannot be published in any “peer reviewed journal” since they will call the multi factorial approach as “bias”. “Scientists” have made fun of anything which creates a paradigm shift, Science is way behind in understanding this, hopefully we’ll progress in understanding quantum healing and structured water in another 100 years.

It's surprising, it could be partially explained due to loss of weight and exercise hence reduced insulin resistance, that's why T2 diabetics are advised to lose weight and exercise, it reduces the insulin resistance, and insulin or Ohg demand.

And the burden of proof actually lies with the claimant , not others. Cause i can create 1000s of such non-verifyable hypotheses within a single day, but proving it might take billions of years ! And we cant afford to spend our resources for these. Coming to your main question : WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BELIEVE IN GOD : This is the issue of honesty and your respect for truth. For this, I ask you to define god properly, at first. If your definition of god is some unfalsifiable and nonverifyable thing , then by definition you cant prove it. If you respect the truth , you will say "we dont know it yet", cause we dont have any evidence. If your definition of god is some falsifiable and verifyable hypothesis like laws of nature, then prove it . If not for fame , atleast prove it for the sake of humanity. I will be more than happy to be believe it. But dont forget that Scientific researches will always be parsimonious. It means, due to the limitations of resources, it will try to find answers for those educated hypotheses , which are in reach of our current technology. And without science, when we believe something without any proof, since humans are usually biased and tend to be self-centered , its not hard for us to attribute certain characteristics to this unproven enitity called god, such as "god hates non-believers", "god likes people coming together and dipping in rivers even in pandemics" etc etc.., For such superstitious people , pandemics, premature deaths, stagnation in scientific progress wont be concerns at all. Cause hey ! When you believe that there is this unproven entity that always protects you , why would you worry about these petty earthly lives ? Right ! And let me frame a non-verifyable hypothesis for you. What if this creator, be it devil or god, hates those who blindly believe in him or superstitions like astrology and rebirth, without any empirical evidence ? In this case you definitely shouldn't believe in god without proof . 😝

It's used in condition where person does not require medicine Or medicine is not available & also control trial in new drugs . It works well , but it's not 100% it changes from person to person and changes to the same person at different times . There is something called nocebo :- this is condition where medicine capacity is decreased due to loss of faith in doctor .
even a mother would know the fundamental basis of placebo, the well rested and confident mind will tend to ignore the pain and heal normally as it should have without the psychological side effects of distress and depression
I am an ayurvedic scholar, And I came to know that the allopathy and ayurved have different concepts, Sometimes even exact opposite treatment is done by both the pathies, but the disease is cured by the both. In Ayurveda there is always a deep scientific explanation for each and every concept and treatment, and same goes for the modern medicine. But the term 'scientific' is biased towards the modern medicine.
Modern scientific approach is not mature enough to understand Ayurveda. Ayurveda is way more advanced - only after we make significant progress in nutrigenomics, Epigenetic, understanding the exposome, microbiome, genomics, all the -omics, we’ll be able to understand the eastern sciences.

I don't follow Hegde but as per my experience diabetes can be cured naturally just by good diet (my mother is an example for this). I used to consume a lot of medicine for headache which caused me stomach ulcer. Now its been 7 years I did not consume any medicine (Ayurveda or allopathy) except cetrizine because sometimes I sneeze a lot because of hay fever. Have Good diet and do excercise you will never need medicine for BP and Cholestrol. Its not like I am against medicine but people consume them for little headache, fever, Cholestrol, BP and sugar which is not good.
Not just Ayurvedic products for the matter, even if you consume raw bitter gourd, a household common vegetable in its raw form without boiling it or cooking it.. then it can damage the human liver very badly.

Doctor abby is right , Ayurveda needs to be tested, and trials need to be done more and more. But truth is don't dismiss Ayuveda overall. Instead standardized Ayrveda (means a research board for authentication and authorisation like fda or fssai in food) this will help public to consume safer drugs. Afterall chmical drugs or plant substances both are substrates that alter chemical reactions in our body so both can cause harm as well as benifit.
Problem is that we do not subject Ayurveda to same rigor .. And some of the “ Ancient glory bias “ goes into it . I am pretty sure there are life style diseases where Ayurveda could offer a better solution but it needs to do better in terms of research

Excellent video, i am happy I watched this. I started being sceptical of Dr Hegde when he talked about the reasons for getting Depression and other mental illnesses. Now I know he is a super quack and also why he got his "Padma Vibhushan" award!

Being a surgical gastroenterologist myself, after spending 13 years studying medicine, Dr B M Hegde’s speeches were an eye opener for me.
Being a health professional I can tell you our current standard of evidence which is meta analysis and randomised controlled trials which are considered as the highest level of evidence Do not do justice for chronic diseases. Chronic diseases are multifactorial involving all the systems of the body and we cannot cure them with our reductionist approach.
I’ve been able to treat the so called “irreversible diseases” after applying mind-body approach, correcting their nutritional biochemistry, correcting the microbiome, and balancing their autonomic nervous system. The so called “pseudo-science” approach believes in systems biology, understanding the interconnectedness and communication between various systems of our body, This cannot be published in any “peer reviewed journal” since they will call the multi factorial approach as “bias”.
“Scientists” have made fun of anything which creates a paradigm shift, Science is way behind in understanding this, hopefully we’ll progress in understanding quantum healing and structured water in another 100 years.

Sir, my mom was said by many doctors to be having very high diabetic since long time (many years) but she never use to take the medicine for it( years together). When we checked recently she is said to be non diabetic after tests. I am surprised
It's surprising, it could be partially explained due to loss of weight and exercise hence reduced insulin resistance, that's why T2 diabetics are advised to lose weight and exercise, it reduces the insulin resistance, and insulin or Ohg demand.

You can only test VERIFYABLE , FALSIFIABLE hypotheses. You cannot test NON-VERIFYABLE , NON-FLASIFIABLE hypotheses.
Now for eg. Anyone can easily claim that in their dream, god told them that there is elixir on a rock revolving around our next nearest star "proxima centauri" .
Do you get whats going on here ? This will be a non verifyable hypotheses because reaching the star Proxima centauri itself it takes atleast 90,000 years with our current technology.
It is soo easy to create such non verifyable hypothesis, but to prove this statement wrong , it will take more than 90,000 years !
And the burden of proof actually lies with the claimant , not others. Cause i can create 1000s of such non-verifyable hypotheses within a single day, but proving it might take billions of years ! And we cant afford to spend our resources for these.
Coming to your main question :
WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BELIEVE IN GOD :
This is the issue of honesty and your respect for truth.
For this, I ask you to define god properly, at first.
If your definition of god is some unfalsifiable and nonverifyable thing , then by definition you cant prove it. If you respect the truth , you will say "we dont know it yet", cause we dont have any evidence.
If your definition of god is some falsifiable and verifyable hypothesis like laws of nature, then prove it . If not for fame , atleast prove it for the sake of humanity. I will be more than happy to be believe it.

And without science, when we believe something without any proof, since humans are usually biased and tend to be self-centered , its not hard for us to attribute certain characteristics to this unproven enitity called god, such as "god hates non-believers", "god likes people coming together and dipping in rivers even in pandemics" etc etc.., For such superstitious people , pandemics, premature deaths, stagnation in scientific progress wont be concerns at all.
Cause hey ! When you believe that there is this unproven entity that always protects you , why would you worry about these petty earthly lives ? Right !
And let me frame a non-verifyable hypothesis for you.
What if this creator, be it devil or god, hates those who blindly believe in him or superstitions like astrology and rebirth, without any empirical evidence ? In this case you definitely shouldn't believe in god without proof . 😝
A few years ago this man suffered stroke. And then he came to our hospital, which is a modern medicine based set-up. This thing became 'meme maal' for us all. This man gained all this glory through cardiology and now promotes Ayurveda, placebo, quantum healing and what not! This person should be controlled.

And I came to know that the allopathy and ayurved have different concepts,
Sometimes even exact opposite treatment is done by both the pathies, but the disease is cured by the both.
In Ayurveda there is always a deep scientific explanation for each and every concept and treatment, and same goes for the modern medicine.
But the term 'scientific' is biased towards the modern medicine.
Why not use the modern scientific methods to prove the effects and side effects of Ayurvedic medicines?
Then why there is no regulations or scientific paper for ayurvedic medicine
Then why can't you save accident patients
Why is there no process of clinical trials for Ayurveda ?
Modern scientific approach is not mature enough to understand Ayurveda. Ayurveda is way more advanced - only after we make significant progress in nutrigenomics, Epigenetic, understanding the exposome, microbiome, genomics, all the -omics, we’ll be able to understand the eastern sciences.

My parents take ayurvedic medicine, i showed them the video. I have informed them. But i sensed a lack of concern and disregard for this information.
Dr. Jaswant Patil is yet another doctor who shares a similar path. Though he doesn't criticize modern medicine, he is a big proponent of alternative medicine.
I don't follow Hegde but as per my experience diabetes can be cured naturally just by good diet (my mother is an example for this). I used to consume a lot of medicine for headache which caused me stomach ulcer. Now its been 7 years I did not consume any medicine (Ayurveda or allopathy) except cetrizine because sometimes I sneeze a lot because of hay fever.
Have Good diet and do excercise you will never need medicine for BP and Cholestrol. Its not like I am against medicine but people consume them for little headache, fever, Cholestrol, BP and sugar which is not good.

No modern medicine guy will answer this.. most of the disease there is no cure in allopathy .
Cure is an ideal and hard to reach goal. Control is key and the process may take you to the cure. BP occurs because of dysfunction of RAAS (Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone system). You can not recreate it, but could be repalced with control of BP. Our body is not a car to replace the body parts to make it new:)

I agree that nowadays Ayurvedic medicines are contaminated because of various kind of pollution , lacking natural resources due to pollution , but it is also true that lot of people are tired of life long consumption of Alopathic medicines.we must stop disrespect each other . In fact public want to get premenently curing medicine , they get confused. When a patient get confused, it is doctor's duty to give correct guidelines of treatment without discrimination of various pathys/therapies with the purpose of premenent cure of disease

Doctor abby is right , Ayurveda needs to be tested, and trials need to be done more and more. But truth is don't dismiss Ayuveda overall. Instead standardized Ayrveda (means a research board for authentication and authorisation like fda or fssai in food) this will help public to consume safer drugs. Afterall chmical drugs or plant substances both are substrates that alter chemical reactions in our body so both can cause harm as well as benifit.
Problem is that we do not subject Ayurveda to same rigor .. And some of the “ Ancient glory bias “ goes into it . I am pretty sure there are life style diseases where Ayurveda could offer a better solution but it needs to do better in terms of research
