Satisfying watching you guys cut all the ifs parts off all together…we took it all apart and used a grinder for the rest on our SAS video…definitely took some time 😂🤦🏻♂️
I did mine originally with grinder and sawzall. Took forever! But after 4 or so solid axle swaps, I've definitely got more efficient, borrowing the neighbors torch really helped!

That's badass I finally got my 3.0 running and driving and on the 22nd I'm going to my grandpa's to look at two 1st gen 4runners and a 2nd gen and who knows what else I'll find out there😂

So I star do a 2rz swap in to my 4x4 v6 1993 pickup and I realized that the engine don't goin all the way down to the motor mount I already buy the oil pan with the longer part to the back for more space in the front axle dif. But still touch what recommendations you guys can give me and other things, my v6 trany bolt on the 2rz or 3rz motor or not. Thanks from PR
That looks like my old 2RZ. If the valve cover is T10 machinery grey paint and the ignition system is the coil pack style (post distributor, pre coil on plug) then it must be mine. I sold it to some guys from the East Koots. I’m in Castlegar. It was in a 98 black extra cab 2wd. Man I miss hitting limiter in that thing lol
Very well could be. Changed hands twice before we got it 🤣 Was in Cranbrook, then to Fernie and back to us in Cranbrook. As far as the history we know. Was from a 98 Taco
@@DirtGarage I purchased that 2wd from a lady in Chilliwack about 13years ago. I drove it and had a lot of fun. I think it had about 380000km when I took apart the entire truck because I was going to build an air ride, custom fab’d frame truck. It sat for a few years disassembled. Then I sold it all together in about 2015. So I hope it’s the engine because it was a shame to see it sit all those years. Now it gets put to good use!

In Australia a consultant engineer has to be engaged first, weld certified and everything signed off. Can’t just go “job done !”
Time to escape then, BC is fairly relaxed on stuff unless you live in Vancouver. In the interior we got 450,000km of dirt roads to explore 👍

Did you guys have to do anything with the motor mounts or did it drop in with that bell housing on it?
We used the Chilkat mounts.
Do you remember what springs he has up front?

Not very limited by leafs. They work great.
My 85 axel swap handles 350hp just fine . But the 1990 stock rear wont hold.
How much $$$$ for the blue yoter?
Is it worth rebuilding a 3.4 motor with 245 thousand on it? I bought a reman motor and the head blew in 4 days don’t know if I should rebuild the old one because I know the history of the motor or rebuild the reman I bought with 92 thousand miles on it any kind of advice would be much appreciated I’m already 4600 in the hole and don’t really know where to go from here

Where and what kind of axle are you using? I have a 1990 I’m thinking of doing but I have no clue on the front axle.
anything from when they first started solid axle to when they stopped should do it, just make sure your ratio is right
Depends on what you're doing and your budget. 80s Toyota pickups and 4runners had solid axles, that's what he's using here. You can go bigger and grab newer axles from a Jeep, or a solid axle pickup or SUV. Or go huge and get one ton axles.
What size leaf springs are one the front and are y'all running blocks with the chevy 63 swap?
3" TG springs, with 2 leafs removed to lower it. And no blocks on 63s

Love the channel man but please get some better welds on your hanger and other suspension components that looks a tad sketch. No offense brother!
The welding isn't 100% done yet. Going back up for round 2 with shock hoops and other stuff to get finished up.
@@DirtGarage do you guys own a stick welder? If you do I’d recommend trying to weld with 6010 or 6011 as it’s very forgiving rod to get some decent welds with. Much more so than welding flux core wire feed. Especially since we all know the steel quality on old rigs isn’t great.
@@PoorManGarage We where using 6013, changing it up though for the next round. Could not get it to weld well.
@@DirtGarage gotcha yeah I’m a certified welder mainly doing structural welding with a lot of stick hours. For cars I’d toss 6013 in the dumpster. Not a good penitrating rod nor does it burn through rust and paint like 6010/11 or 7018.

Sure did on first start. We did not know intake manifold gaskets didn't even exist on it. Plus it didn't have any exhaust at all.
