Being complete honest with you man, these progression videos are great. Shows everyone that if you grind and have some mechanical skill, you'll progress. My air dribbles and double taps are significantly better because of these videos. Thanks!
Best video this week. I’ve been struggling with Breezi flicks and (duh) HOLD THE JUMP BUTTON. Best explanation of it I’ve seen yet so THANKS! You have a great vibe my guy. As a 52 year-old Rocket League addict I have to say, this is the best all-around flick tutorial I’ve seen. I think the time you put in is admirable and it’s is def appreciated. Keep up the great work!
I was like “100 hours isn’t even that much”, and then I checked my total playtime and it’s like 98 hours. Lol here I am thinking I had out some time into this game. Makes you appreciate the effort that as gone into this video! Like god damn! Well done, Thanovic!
100 hours is 4 full days and 4 hours You have less then. A weeks worth of hours But yes to train practically 5 days for anything doesn't sound bad until you say 100 hours
You are genuinely the only person that has ever made me fear a game of Rocket League. If I load up and see you in there, I can never tell if its a bead of sweat or a tear but whatever it is, it's instant
Those breezi flick kids I swear. They can’t appreciate simplicity like us normies. I 100% agree with this tutorial as a GC player so kudos to you Thanovic.
Tbh I just find it fun to work on a hard mechanic, if I get to do it in a game, cool, but yea usually I stick with normal flicks, im not consistent enough to go for the breezi in like a 2s or 3s game, I have done it twice in ones tho
To people saying breezi's and musty's aren't gonna be useful compared to other flicks. When you see someone dribbling towards you, you usually expect a quick flick, and you get in position for that. But if that person jumps, and starts doing weird shit, you'll start paying attention to their movement, and will not expect the power the musty flick generates. If you can get consistent at them, I can talk from experience, they can be very very effective. Great video Thanovic:)
Imo the reverse musty is super deadly as someone who uses the reverse musty and breezi it can trick your opponent into thinking you lost control making them hesitate before you conjur up a 100+ flick into the top shelf which requires pin point defence to save.
Rocket League mechanic tutorials nearly always fall into the same trap: leaving out some crucial details and being largely unhelpful as a result. Now, yours have been better than most at this, but in this one some crucial bits are missing. Like, I don't think you mentioned the fact that on each of these flicks (apart from the backflip flick), you're boosting every time you execute the flick. Since the pre-flick ball carry doesn't necessarily involve using boost, this is not self-evident. Also, one of the biggest issues facing any beginning flicker is how the carried ball frequently escapes from the car when pressing jump for the first time. How to avoid this was not addressed, but IMHO definitely needs to be. (It's a part of ball control, but that section, too, needs to be finer-grained.) I appreciate how hard it is to break down a flick to ALL of its elements, but I think this video really needs a part 2 to cover some of the stuff that was not mentioned here. You could possibly use that to cover some of the viewer favorite flicks that weren't included here.
So the boost thing was not covered because it is not a set thing. It is very situational and you can do all of the flicks with and without boost. The beginning flicker thing comes under learning proper car control first. If the ball is steady like I mentioned, then you should have no real trouble executing the flick providing you follow the rest of the steps. The only one where I feel you actually need to hold jump is the breezi where I mentioned it. If the ball is escaping the car when jumping, it means the positioning is incorrect. Bad positioning will fling the ball to whichever direction you have positioned the ball. I mentioned this at the start because you can't skip that part and just hope you get it through the rest of the training. Start at the bottom and work your way up if your struggling is always the best way about things
Class video, spent a few hours late on at night doing a dribbling map, then moved to freeplay and managed to do all the flicks, even the breezi which I never thought I would manage! Cheers bud explained them well!
Ayyy, love the series (And I saw the poll where you finally included 2 things that I was talking about in the past), even if the video is gonna be ready in like June or July, I'm fine with that! As always, keep up the great work! :)
Drinks for me were always one of those mechanics that I learned, got really well good at but never really put time into actually practicing once I learned them. I recently went back into training the basics and my flicks got a lot more consistent after an hour or so. So to put 100 hours into it would probably drill the mechanic in to an extent you'd really never forget.
OMG. I’ve been trying the 45 degree flick with a forwards diagonal front flick for legit weeks and I was so annoyed that I was hardly ever getting a decent shot! YOU FLICK DOWN DIAGONAL!?!? I loaded up my RL and tried it and it worked first time FML can I get an F please 😂 you’ve now taught me how to flip reset and 45 degree flick. My actual hero ❤️
For PS4, XBox or Switch Players: Training to do a controlled Flick 2:28 Step 1 (dribbling without Boost) 2:34 Step 2 (dribbling with Boost only) 3:12 Step 3 (diagonal frontflip Flick - for beginners) 3:46 Step 4 (Sideflip Flick) 4:44 Step 4 (Backflip Flick) 5:55 Step 5 (45° Flick) 6:50 Final Step (90° Flick) For PC Players: Use dribbling challenge maps and come back to this Video and practice Step 3 to the final
This has probably been suggested before but have you thought of putting a controller overlay for when you do the how to section for flicks? Could be easier to explain especially after you explain what you have bound to what!
I have never been good at flicks and I am only a plat 1 but I am most comfortable with the 180 flick. I feel more comfortable turning backwards and flicking it so I can get a quick recovery by holding air role.

hey dude i dont usually comment but..,I'm a low diamond here somehow😂 but this legit helped me improve withing 30 minutes so thank you, keep up the good Content
I know this is an old video but you didn't mention the fact that you are tapping boost in most cases before the final flick for the breezi. My problem is not being able to get enough height when the ball is on my car because of how much it weighs down ur jump regardless of how long you hold jump. everytime I boost it makes my angle too far off and I can't correct it. That, or, I'm doing something else wrong entirely.

THE FLICKS VIDEO WOOOOOP
Yessir

Dam this video is amazing. Greatly appreciate this.
Btw, what's the song in the background's name at 8:10? Its sick 🔥
Ceiling shots! It's one of the most useful mechanics and can easily turn into double taps or flip resets
Not actually dude
Dni008 _RL he said it’s ONE of the most useful, not, it’s THE most useful lol, and yea it can lead to flip resets
We go with the poll hahah, we will see
@@Thanovic lol.
Something that could be useful for people that are planning on learning dribbling: First do it in slow-mo.
True
If you do this for every mechanic you’ll turn into JSTN.
One day haha
