Hi karl it has taken me a while to add to the comments , but credit where credit is due , I think your films are worthy of BBC time slots and it is high time somebody head hunted you and funded you to keep giving us this material. Any way I have seen most of your films and watched a great portion of them multiple times . They are a great source of information ,, inspiration and great entertainment and humor.. so please dont stop .. I am 42 (old fart backpacker ) and in the planing stages of my round the world trip .traveled lots years ago now my life has presented me the chance to pack up the old ruck sack again , thanks , hope james is cool , these days!!!
First off all, your series is extremely well done and well edited, it feels like a proper tv show, super nice to watch! I'm super impressed with the amount of work and planning that came into this. Such a great watch, what an adventure. I'm leaving solo to central america in a month for the whole summer, stuff like this takes me through my exams, thanks a lot!
***** Are you serious? Can I contact him by any chance? Would be fun to hang out with him. I'm going to work in a sweet surf camp in Costa Rica, you pay 100 euro's a week, you get accomodation, food and surf lessons and you work 2 hours a day, off in the weekends, if he's interested, maybe I can get him in on that deal.
Fantastic series, have watched all the episodes over the last few days. It's like a good box set, can't wait for the next one each time. Going on a very similar trip this year, this is making me even more excited!!
This video (and the series) deserve so many more views. STA travel took me here. Have always been a fan since I did a 6 week tour of Canada and Eastern USA. Very jealous of your trip up to this point, can't wait to watch the rest!
Enjoying your videos! Looks like such a fun time...wish I were young again!! Thank you for sharing your adventures and making us smile!! Awesome! 🇺🇸👍👏🏻
Working my way through this HK2NY series. Bummer you had a bad time in Malaysia but you sure as heck made up for it in Bali. Loved the addition of Khe Sanh in this vid so appropriate for Australia its like our pseudo national anthem👍. But your singing and guitar playing was sensational lve not heard you play before, man of many talents you are!! Thanks so much for sharing this adventure with the world you are a legend.
Ubirr Rock changed the way I saw the world. When I first visited there were no trails or fences, just a sign indicating that some of the paintings had been dated to about 23,000 years ago. As you sit on the rock taking in the iridescent green plain, the dark red outcrops, the teeming wildlife and the carboniferous smell, you half expect a dinosaur to swing into view. It then strikes you that people just like you have been sitting here, looking at this same view six to ten times longer than the pyramids have existed. That was so mind-blowing.
I travelled with adventure tours from Darwin all the way down to Adelaide via Alice Springs almost 12 years ago now. Boy does this bring back some great memories! This is the first of your documentaries that I've seen, so I'll definitely watch the rest now...happy, happy memories of my 2003 round the world trip, thanks!!
Looks like you guys had a great group on your tour. I think that would make all the difference in how much fun you have. My favorite part was when you all banded together to mess up that douchebag's truck in the parking lot - nothing like a team effort to build rapport, lol.
Australia represent! A great country. Only downside to living here is how far you have to go to travel to other countries. Especially Europe and the Americas.
OMG I love it! Just found your channel and already watched 5 episodes...now I really have to sleep :D Thinking about traveling next year and your account is the best travel account I found on youtube so far...great Work and so inspiring! thank you for that...:)
I went on the croc tour saw quite a few took pic s of the largest one as it jumped up close to the boat. they hang out a chicken slap the water sooner than later crocs show up, Litchfield quite cheap tour from Darwin. the swimming hole has quite a strong current.
great show guys. im hooked better than half of the stuff on the bbc haha!!. how much did the trip cost to airs rock? and in total - how much did you save to do all this, if you dont mind me asking?
Hey Karl! your videos inspired me. I'm going to australia for a year in a couple weeks on a working holiday visa, mostly east Coast. Any tips or advice you can give me? We already have a good idea but anything helps! Thanks !
Hey Karl, Curios to know what camera was used to film this? Was it water proof? Lastly what program did you use for editing? My 10 month trip around the world starts in 3 weeks! Thanks Karl, awesome videos, you've truly inspired me.
pity no road trains shown while in alice I was at the maint yard most impressive vehicles. I was backpacking solo. while in alice had met local aboriginals who were selling there art roadside. bought 5 and brought them back to Canada along with pic of the artists. there known as dreamtime stories. took them to local art museum and they were totally unaware of the style. were impressed though.
Great video and series Karl, Darwin is definitely the best place to begin exploring the Outback. Only curious to know, did you and James sail or fly from Bali to get to Australia? Might head the same route when I get the chance.
awesome series subbed. Does anyone know of a travelling documentary with two American friends travelling round the world...can't find it anywhere...saw it on Netflix ages ago...
too bad they left out the croc farm crocodillus . you can observe crocs from eggs right on up through the years. on drive down from Darwin I noted quite a lot of brown eagles munching on road kill. used greyhound to get around plus the ghan train.
was that not Litchfield swimming hole. no croc jumping river cruise too bad its awesome, also no cane toads under the lamps at night? to be in Darwin is great when lightning storms arrive.
I was just wondering, what company(ies) did you use for this part of Australia? I've found companies that do tours of Uluru and the National Parks, but it's full on camping overnight and I'm not sure I'm brave enough for that!
Thanks for the tip! I've done loads of research but this tour fits with my schedule perfectly and covers everything I want to see! Looking forward to booking it for next summer!
in aboriginal culture women are never aloud to play the dij, besides that love the vids man u have inspired me to travel and get out of australia and see the world
Will be going to Oz from the UK in December 2018. RUclips videos are my research... It would be nice to join one of the many Facebook groups but I keep getting requests denied by the power hungry wannabe Hitler admins.
Don't stop in Darwin because it's shit! haha.....I've been stuck here working for the last 5 months and yes it is shit, expensive and nothing to do which is why I'm watching RUclips.
Best country in the world to live in and make a good life but its a boring country to visit with not much things to do and see and if there is they are a mile apart making it way too expensive for a tourist. its a shame as its a big country with low number of tourist visiting with 4 million in 2014.
Disappointing to see that the travel guide let the females play the didg. If he was an informed guide, he would know that the didg is a male only instrument.
This is the best travel around the world series made for RUclips, it's awesome
Dan Rodriguez check how to travel Southeast Asia on $1000 pretty good too budgeteers
‘‘Don't be afraid of head its fine" slyly looks at the camera! crack up lol
This series you made is better than anything you will find on any travel channel. Well done mate. Truly inspired me.

Wondered when we'd get to hear your guitar playing as I've noticed them in your rom at the start of the vid. Looked liked the digi was hard to play.

I have just recently found your channel. I don't find it cool that tall vandalized that dudes truck no matter the issue.
Where are episodes 6 and 7?

Wish I could do this
A lot of the music and sounds in this video are ripped directly from the Crocodile Dundee movie...

Don't stop in Darwin because it's shit! haha.....I've been stuck here working for the last 5 months and yes it is shit, expensive and nothing to do which is why I'm watching RUclips.
Haha, to be fair there's great national parks nearby - well nearby for aussie standards ;)
Darwin is rubbish, don't stop there. Not sure about that. Darwin is soo good. I had an amazing time there.....
