if you sow the crop contigously and end just bit outside of the field, so |c c c|c (where | is fence and c is crop) you can begin to harvest before entering the field. and that half in/half out approach out makes fence work invisible to the implement. You just have to drive fast enough
you're welcome for that tip :) i know eric won't see that comment, but as a sidenote, it's nice that the cows get to get out and about. wholesome vid that they work hard and make it best as possible for them. good Stuff :) 👍
Ag Leader offers sensors for the boom, each section has a monitor for pressure drop or high pressure from a blockage. Can be mated to GPS for section cut off as you pass over sprayed areas, which saves $ on chems. Or you can get a system from the brand of equipment you prefer. Rear camera is probably the cheapest way to go. 👍
Today on my way to a house that I take care of I saw the harvesting of all of the soybean fields on the way.. Made me think of you and here you are harvesting yours. Great video and thanks.
Always enjoy watching your videos, the New Holland products are pretty nice, my oldest son bought a New Holland tractor last year, a lot more reasonable price than a John Deere that was less horse power. We farmers have to pay close attention to those details for sure. Thanks Eric, I hope your week is going good and continues.
Another educational video. Job well done. Your farmstead & yard is looking really good. It’s nice & tidy since you’ve got things cleaned up. Enjoy you operating the skid steer. Smooth like an extension of your hand. Hope you’re settled in & enjoying your new home. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video sure do love to see the combines out in the fields I thought something was seriously wrong with your mixer glad there was enough what if your mixer broke down what would you do. Thanks for taking me along looking forward to seeing more of the dairy God bless
Hello Eric , keeping everything nicely part and the farm is excellent. Love your house when I got to watch the video of the tour. Hope your family is doing okay and have a happy Halloween be safe.
Funny how there are cows that just stand back and watch the feed coming out, and some that are compelled to shove their whole head into the feed spray. I think I'd fall into the later.
A solution to the spray skip is actually running a slightly heavier nozzle in the centers. We noticed the dust and wind disruption from the sprayer affecting our application quality. We run slightly heavier mist in cemtet
It's amazing and fulfilling to see how young people are into farming passionately. I wish this machines could be found here in Africa , I could do bigger and better too . Big up Eric.
5:20 gopros do have a way of viewing what the camera sees from your phone, so maybe you could mount a gopro back in the blind spot to keep an eye on those nozzles.
My family were not farmers, but I grew up surrounded by the farmlands of Central Illinois. But watching you and other farming channels has introduced me to new vocabulary. Some new terms seem self-explanatory, but some I just have to guess at. So I never heard the term drilling in the cultivating context when I was growing up - only tilling. What's the difference?
So there are three different terms you’re referring too. Drilling would be when you take a no till grain drill to plant your seeds. Cultivation would be when a farmer is taking a machine through a field (typically corn) to kill weeds but not the crop. Tilling is another term for working up the ground in the field. Hope this helps!
Basically. Think of tilling of using a disc to break up the soil if there’s any compaction in the field. Drilling in my knowledge, barely disturbs the soil. That yellow drill Eric was using was a no till drill. The drill works up just enough soil to plant the seed. What great about drilling, the soil stays more in the field and doesn’t wash away.
Have you thought about using a wireless backup camera on your sprayer. Brian's Farming Videos uses one to load trucks at their grain leg. I think it's a 12v system so all you would have to do is run power.
hes talked about it somewhere at some point. i believe they get a reasonable amount more milk per cow doing 3 v 2. they believe it keeps the cows happy / healthier to not be so full of milk stated with 2 a day they would see milk puddles on the beds. and they said they dont have a shortage of people willing to do the job, so the employ time is less costly then it might be elsewhere. that could be out of date but thats what i remember
Honestly I thought when he said the mixer was making a weird noise I didn’t hear it a first and thought it was going to be hiddle chocolate milk like the good ol days.
Hey Eric my names Sam and I live in Illinois in and I’m a construction worker and I pour concrete in Iowa but anytime I’m not busy I always watch your videos and I love watching them but I just wanted to let you know that I’ve watched all your videos all the way and liked all of them and you’ve been my favorite RUclipsr for about 3 years but I hope you and your dad have a great day and keep making these amazing videos
Hey sir.... I was just wondering if there is any quality differences in the silage you put in an Ag Bag versus what you store in the bunks???? Can you explain that on the channel sometime?
7:15 Looks like both screws in the feed mixer are shifted - there's scrape marks on the walls about 2 inches off the floor. Check the bearings like someone else said.
as for the weed strip /sprayer issue... you dont have to hop out. set up your go pro or a spare fone and do a live broadcast to you tube. monitor the broadcast from your other fone in the cab. you dont have to make the live broadcast link public. .. just an idea. hope it helps :)
If you don’t mind me asking, what range do beans yield in your area? We plant with a drill 7.5” rows. This year we got 64 bushels here in south western Ontario. 2800 heat units. I was very happy with that. It was after winter forage rye. Seems to have a good relationship, beans drilled into rye stubble. Thanks for your videos
Have you done a recent cost comparison of grazing versus the intensive system you run just now? Feed costs, crop costs, disease Issues etc etc. Be interested to hear what your thoughts are.
I have not but with the land base around the farm I think we would have to cut our herd size and half and expect a large drop in milk production per cow along with that. That massive drop in gross sales would make it hard to find the margin to make the farm payment. Our current business model is profitable and I see that switch as a big risk.
Hello Eric. Thanks for a nice video. I am not so happy with the noise from the feeder. Noise dont come from nothing. It couldt be a bearing or so, better tjec it out. hello from Denmark.
You should block off some of your graving field and let the grass or whatever you plant to grow and then do the other side. I wouldn't think that would be to hard to do and not very expensive!
Why do you choose to not have feed bunks? it seems like you have extra work brooding feed back so the cows can reach. I enjoy your channel and how hard you work.
I thought there would be a soda in the mixer😂
Or chocolate milk
Probably some baking soda, though. It's actually an ingredient in rations. If you know that, I have an idea of your background.
Ya haven't had a sneaky beverage in a while 😢
Did you give up Mountain Dew?
He went to smaller cans
I’ve played enough farm simulator to know that you can get a 16 foot tool through a 15 foot opening. It just takes some creative thinking.
Good for you! But sometimes gates seem to shrink when you try to get through them 😮

I love how the cows just let the feed roll all over their heads during feeding! Too cute! 😊🐄
LOL yeah they're so Derpy.
Probably getting a good smell of the feed before eating.
I may be simple, but watching you mix the ration is one of my favorite things. Thanks for the video.
It's like a chef preparing a holiday feast...for thousands!...but a daily ritual on dairy farms...for🐄🐄"the ladies"🐄💩🐄!
To solve your problem on the sprayer behind the tank just add a ag cam so you can monitor those nozzles!
Beat me to it bro 😂

Great stuff as always 10th Gen.
looking forward to seeing the pasture grow, would be cool to see the cows first time in it in spring once its grown in

Nice to get the soybeans another job done.
That drill is great
Love the cows as your dad is feeding them. "Ohh food.... Hey why cant I see?"

Nice to see some of the processes from different angles/perspectives
The Esch is same drill our local co-op has for rent. It does a great job.
Can't get enough of your videos great work
This is a good time of year to be planting rye. We get more moisture as fall falls.
Looks like a nice planter.
I think e ery farmer thinks that his combine is the best.
I enjoyed the year where my job was to feed the cows, mix the various ingredients and spread out the meal to the waiting cows.
Remind us what the commodities are that you add to the feed…..love watching the mixing and precision you use when adding components to the feed!
Awesome video sure do love to see the combines out in the fields I thought something was seriously wrong with your mixer glad there was enough what if your mixer broke down what would you do. Thanks for taking me along looking forward to seeing more of the dairy God bless
I have a New holland Skid steer 20 years no trouble 🙏🙏👍👍
Great video! And the Esch drill is a slick design. Someone was thinking there 👍👍
I really enjoy watching you mix the feed ration for the cows
Hello Eric , keeping everything nicely part and the farm is excellent. Love your house when I got to watch the video of the tour. Hope your family is doing okay and have a happy Halloween be safe.
Great content, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the excellent video!
When you run the feed out and the cows jam their face in the flow makes me smile every time...
It's always interesting to watch the different jobs that have to be done to make the farm work. Stay safe.
amazing video Eric. thank you so much
Great video. Thanks for sharing!!
Can confirm. Be gentle to the beanz.
Excellent feeding program for all your cattle!
Many sprayers have boom camera options for behind-the-tank/wheel areas.
Funny how there are cows that just stand back and watch the feed coming out, and some that are compelled to shove their whole head into the feed spray. I think I'd fall into the later.
Don't be a "Brian Brown" and backup with your seeder/drill down! Sorry for tattlin' on you Brian. Keep the videos coming. Love them.
Harvesting is easier than ever with this amazing machine
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Just looks like biz as usual! Stay safe!
Love the video updates!
My friend Eric, I am following your videos from Morocco. Greetings to you, your father, and your young family. Continue
I love your videos I have watched all of them
A solution to the spray skip is actually running a slightly heavier nozzle in the centers. We noticed the dust and wind disruption from the sprayer affecting our application quality. We run slightly heavier mist in cemtet
I knew a guy that mounted a mirror behind the spray tank looking down to see the nozzles, but it was a small sprayer.
Much Love as Always 🐄 Man!!!
your cows have a better balanced diet than i do
Mmmm Mt Dew my favorite. Great video
Good stuff Eric

2nd. love your videos! Contents always quality and engaging. Thank you!
Always fun to watch god bless
i always run nozzle screens , on all the nozzles i can't see from the seat.
A camera behind the sprayer and a small screen in the cap would be a great solution to get rid of blind spots. Aren't that expensive nowadays
That first bunk of silage is almost gone, wow!

Your welcome. Grew up on a dairy farm and still work on a farm today. I get excited when people want to learn what farming is all about.

stay safe brother from the imperial county California 👍👍🇺🇲
A remote camera mounted could help you watch that. Just a thought. (The sprayer)
you continually exceed expectations
Wireless camera on sprayer. Should be able to focus on spray heads and see if they’re working. Also, wondering if you’ll roll the pastures?
Have you always milked 3 times a day? Ever considered going to twice a day? What is the cost/benefit of 3 times?
hes talked about it somewhere at some point. i believe they get a reasonable amount more milk per cow doing 3 v 2.

Did y’all roll that little dab of bean chaff for straw?
I was wondering, how often do you have to check that magnet on the feed mixer?
That shaver is mesmerizing to watch. Lol
Honestly I thought when he said the mixer was making a weird noise I didn’t hear it a first and thought it was going to be hiddle chocolate milk like the good ol days.

Get you a remote camera and put-on your sprayer in middle where you can’t see
Not sure how much it would cost but you could have a camera on the back of the sprayer to see it coming out
👍BAD YEAR FOR DEWS😂
How are the solar panels working out?
What about using a wireless camera and monitor on your sprayer?
Sounds like a bearing going out on that mixer
How long do you let the mixer run before you feed or is it ready buy the time you get to the barn?
Nice beans

Do you store your soybeans and have them grind it up for the soybean meal for your cows?
You seem to be going thru the silage in the bunkers a lot faster, will you have enough for the winter?
They bought extra corn silage this year and put it in one of their vertical silos.
Would ye consider using grass silage Eric?
Please create TMR chart details video.
what if you put a backup camera on the back of the sprayer and had a monitor in the tractor to see what the sprayer is doing.
Hi. could you please tell me the food mixture that you give to cows. what are the ingredients.
With the amount of times you guys rent those esch drills have you thought about trading the John Deere drill on one?
First time I saw him rent a drill.
Los felicito 👏👏😃 son los únicos que cuidan bien las vacas lecheras 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have noticed at your farm and others that the cows seem to like the feed to dump on their heads. I wonder why that is. Thanks for the video.
Can you share the ration you apply per cow?,please
👍 🥛
Know the dark liquid supplement being added was molasses. What was the lighter colored one?
Toasted soybeans.
Do you feed all the beans you grow?
You can put a camera on the sprayer.
How many acres are just for cow feed?
Why do you choose to not have feed bunks? it seems like you have extra work brooding feed back so the cows can reach. I enjoy your channel and how hard you work.
Eric can you show us the “beans” there are many terms farmers use for different crops. Terms like “pea’s”. Thank you.
They're soybeans, not peas.
