      @@danielhawthorn6639 I always found that suspicious. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but if you’re going to take out a guy for telling the truth and make it look like an accident, Carlin in his 70s after a couple of heart attacks would be the guy. He seemed very off in his last special. Not himself. I still wonder. Again, not a conspiracy guy per se, but it is suspicious.

Stopped buying the latest “must have”products, broke down to simple groceries to eat and eliminated 60% of unnecessary purchases. Made my life so simple. I also stopped paying attention to politics in the world and just focus on what I can control. The simpler my life, the more peace I have!

Europeans brought back slavery in the 20th century: Russia, where more people died as property of the Soviet Union in slave camps than ever existed in the American Antebellum South, and of course Germany where mid-20th century they brought slavery back to Western Europe. Not to mention 4 of the 5 largest genocides in human history happened in Europe: The holocaust (within living memory), the Soviet starvation of Ukraine, The Armenian Genocide, etc. 60 million murdered if you add it all up, compared to the USA's "Indian Wars" which killed about 24,000 people. Telling the truth is actually the easiest option, but people never want to hear the truth, especially when it's about them. Telling people lies requires more than just coming out and telling people like it is. Lying takes work and thought. I would much rather have someone tell me the truth than lie to me, no matter what it is.
    What does it say about someone who lies, even to spare someone's feelings? That you're a liar and you can't be trusted. The truth brings trust, lies bring untrust, no matter if you're trying to be nice, it's still a lie. This is what I love about GC, he's not afraid to tell the truth no matter how hard it is. "People say, 'I'm going to sleep now,' as if it were nothing. But it's really a bizarre activity. 'For the next several hours, while the sun is gone, I'm going to become unconscious, temporarily losing command over everything I know and understand. When the sun returns, I will resume my life.'
    If you didn't know what sleep was, and you had only seen it in a science fiction movie, you would think it was weird and tell all your friends about the movie you'd seen.
    They had these people, you know? And they would walk around all day and be OK? And then, once a day, usually after dark, they would lie down on these special platforms and become unconscious. They would stop functioning almost completely, except deep in their minds they would have adventures and experiences that were completely impossible in real life. As they lay there, completely vulnerable to their enemies, their only movements were to occasionally shift from one position to another; or, if one of the 'mind adventures' got too real, they would sit up and scream and be glad they weren't unconscious anymore. Then they would drink a lot of coffee.'
    So, next time you see someone sleeping, make believe you're in a science fiction movie. And whisper, 'The creature is regenerating itself.” "George Carlin"

    I've always liked George Carlin - his "Class Clown" album is epic - but, it seems to me that, as he got older, he got more sour. That is to say, he did make valid points about a great many social and political issues all wrapped up in comedy but that's just the point: his earlier material was tongue-in-cheek humor dealing with day-to-day things (A Place For My Stuff) but his later material is just plain bitching about stuff while giving it a humorous spin. He went from premier comedian to slightly humorous crusty old fart who doesn't give a damn about what he says but uses the stage as a soapbox to preach and vilify. Although he makes very many valid points, he's preaching to the choir, and the choir didn't pay good money to hear him preach, they paid good money for him to make them laugh. How many times did you hear the audience laugh? How many times did you laugh? I grant you that this is just one segment of his show - one can only hope the rest of his performance was better.
    Regarding his word choices: perhaps you should look up his routine "Seven Words You Can't Say on TV" ( ruclips.net/video/5ssJtD08vCc/видео.htmlsi=uh6HLtrYSbnmHW1L ) that he did in the early '70's. It created such a row that it made its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. This was when George Carlin was at his best.
    So you have my sympathy; apparently you caught Carlin at his most depraved. If someone recommended this to you, it was a dirty trick just to see how horrified you'd get and, if it were me, I'd be kicking them out of the clubhouse.

    I love the people who are so quick to say "We have that everywhere in the world." It's because American media and issues gets broadcast so often across the entire western world that you begin to think your society is like America. There's actually a word for it called Americanism(or Americanization), it's a real word.

  • @AIHumanEquality
    @AIHumanEquality 3 месяца назад

    There's a lot that's different about the US from Europe but the biggest differences is that in America it's become legal to bribe politicians, the lobbying industry that works for wealthy corporations literally spends billions every election cycle just to make sure politicians continue to serve their business interests of the corporations. And they're allowed to do it, it doesn't even have to be some backroom deal, they just do it legally and openly. The other big difference is news media in America is fully owned by private companies, the same private interests that are on the side of wealthy corporations. Many news in Europe is run by either the country or local areas. In America everything is commercialized, even the news.

  • @AIHumanEquality
    @AIHumanEquality 3 месяца назад

    On top of it being consumption, in the US they have what is known as Laissez-faire which is the idea that corporations and companies should be allowed to do what they want with little to no government interference. That single Laissez-faire ideology is the reason for the majority of why corporations can get away with all the stuff George mentioned and even more.

That's the result of growing up poor, I think. When you give someone who has spent their entire life without money a large supply of available money, we have no idea what to do with it. None what so ever. So, we buy dumb things.

    When you do reactions to anything don’t pause it just wait till the end of the video to say whatever you want 💯 so many people pause movies and videos during reactions and it kind of ruins the experience lol 😅 also George Carlin was the funniest and smartest comedian who ever lived and probably the only good American lol ✅

    George spoke the truth 19 years ago, and this nation only got worse. RIP George. The world population more than doubled since Carlin started his career. Now we have over 4 billion more pour people to survive on this planet. Can you imagine what the world will be like in 25 years? I don't care to live to see it. No thank you!

    Regarding lowering the passing grades, I sorta saw this firsthand. I moved from Virginia to Connecticut in 2000, right in middle school for me (started grade 7 in CT). The passing grade in VA was above 69, so you had to make at least a 70/100 to pass. But in CT, it was 65. So you had to score 66/100 to pass. I know this is because it varies from state to state, but it shocked me back then that the 'sophisticated north' was so much more lenient. Also, no SATs? Look I know SATs suck (if you're from VA you know) but it just seemed like the northern kids got it so much easier. Yet the stereotype is that southerners breed more stupid country bumpkins. It was definitely a wake up call for me

    9:48 same here only. For extremely expensive things you put it on your credit card you know things you don't have enough cash for and if you're smart you don't even do that unless you've done the math but that's cognitive people

    George Carlin was a modern day Socrates. I’m certainly no expert but, if I remember correctly, I read or heard Socrates was known for using humor and sarcasm to make poignant points about contentious topics of his time. Carlin did the same thing. A lot of comedians do this, but not everyone does it successfully. Nobody wants to hear about the problems of the world from a middle class 20-something year old, but you change that to an old man who has the lived experience, well that’s a different story and it’ll be received differently. The message and how it’s received depends on the messenger. It’s a similar thing in music. The person delivering the message matters and it can change how it is received. Just look at the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt, and the cover of the same song by Johnny Cash. Same exact song, totally different reception and impact.

    the only problem I know with debit cards is if they get stolen you don't get your money back. Just what I heard i don't have any personal experience getting debit or credit cards stolen.

    Carlin was a comedic beast, but... He became extremely grumpy and bitter towards the end of his life. Regarding fat Americans...
    I'm Canadian.
    I recently stayed overnight at Niagara Falls. I've never seen so many fat people in my life. It was like a fat convention.
    Yup... American tourists...
    Oh.. We Canadians also use our Debit cards everywhere. 😉

    Life/reality is a mix of softness & harshness. And avoiding the harsh realities is why human beings are allowing themselves to be taken advantage of. Even the natural things in life are harsh. Every mother who has given birth had to face painful harshness while going thru childbirth. So the very begiining of our lives was started in harshness. Look at the weather. Sometimes it is quite pleasant and at other times it is very uncomfortable. But for some strange reason "people" want to control each other's speech and make it be pleasant ALL of the time. That is unrealistic and causes bigger problems because we are just like the natural elemetns of life. So it is unnatural to ALWAYS be soft with our speech. And it is not natural to be clam and soft sooken when facing danger or loss. Whenever people suppress themselves and strain themselves to speak in an artificial manner, then eventually violence will erupt when too many tradedies stack up on top of one another. That is why calm spoke people shock the public when they become violent and destructive. Suppressing speech leads to big trouble. People are suppose to FACE harsh things and pay attention in order to resolve problems. But instead people run away into being a hypocrite. They speak nicely while secretly hating. Eventually the truth spills out and then it's a disaster. People are AFRAID of displeasing their (hidden) owners. So they obey. But if you stude communist or toltalitarian historry, the first tthing the controllers did when taking over a group of people is to disallow them from speaking thie native tongue (after being captured from wartime). Every country that has a strict control on people's expression, is like living in a concentration camp. And when SPEECH is suppressed and controlled, then people are under the regime of mind control. And after thaaat all other areas of life are locked down too. So cooperating with the status quo regarding human expression only leads to existing in mental hell. And people can only take so much until they erupt out of control. Cooperating with tyranny is what strengthens it, always. Athlete coaches use harsh language in order to bring out the players' excellence. I prefered teachers that spoke harshly because it broght excellence out of me. I understood the need for harsh or coarse language, sometimes. I taught my children that profanityy was not wrong, but that it had it place. Like if you accidentally slam your fingers in a door, and let out a curse word, I told my kids that I wouldn't hold that against them. But said to them that you must not swear in public while you are still a kid. That's because a kid doesn't know when it is appropriate and not appropriate to use profanity. So the neighbors tthought that my kids wwere the most well mannered kids thhey had ever seen. But they didn't know that their language was not suppressed at home. But I told them that it was not appropriate too searfor no reason. Language is like clothing, there is nothing wrong witth wearing pajamas but it is inappropriate to wear them at work, for example. Oh btw, I was born is the USA. But I am 60+ years old, and whwhen I was in school, they taught logic, critical thinking. After I graduated, the govt. removed it in order to deliberate dumb down the later generations of students that followed. Now most young Americans are so dumb that they obey everything that the govt. tells them and believe that it's all for their benefit. They now thing and talk like communists and yet they till think they are Americans. It is the American Constitution (1st Amendmeent = Freedom of Speech), but the "Woke" political movement is trying to destoy it along wwith all the other amendments. Once that happens, America won't exist anymore. It will have become a totalitarian state. Then all other coountries will follow, just like what happen with the worldwide pandemic mandates (designed to abolish humann reights). America is being targeted as th e#1 priority to get the Aamericans to succumb to having their speech restricted. They begin with a few words and the ultimate goal is to have people ask permission to see if what they can say is allowed. It isn't enough that the world owners want most if not all of the world's assets & resourced, but they want TOTAL control over human being through AI surveillence, etc. So being soft ALL the time can be dangerous to human freedoms & rights, in the longrun. Besides, in general, people tend to ignore a message that is softly and gentlty delivered. Had George spoke in a politically correct manner, hardly anyone would pay attention to his message that is meant to save humanity from global enslavement. So while this is comedy, George risked his life to warn people in the future of what's to come so that we could protect our lives and the lives of our loved-ones.
