Willy is deeply saddened when he receives a letter from his Tennessee girlfriend, telling him that she is about to marry another man. So McHale and the crew throw a big "Hillbilly Hoe-down" to cheer up their heartbroken friend, which is attended, unexpectedly, by a Congressman from the Naval Appropriations Committee.
McHales Navy is the best comedy ever made.
I hope hogan's heroes is on that list!
@@Djman-ox7gd i say both are good
Don't forget Andy Griffith Dick Van Duke Beverly Hillbillies just to name a few
One of😸🤓😎✌🏻
Absolutely!!!!!
I never realized how much of the physical comedy is done by Binghamton. He's always the one to take a fall or run into something or dance away 😄
I would like to know if any of the actors were ever injured while filming the TV show
"I'll bet you could just scream, Sir." "Like a banshee!!" LOL 🤣
The nurses are some of the best actors in this series 😊
I love this show. And it’s true about how far in the country some of these guys come from. When I went in the Army in ‘69, we had a guy in our platoon from the Appalachians. I was his squad leader. He had never seen a soda machine before. Great guy, but I had to smarten him up quick to the ways of the city slickers lol. Guys would take advantage of him, ask him for money, I had to “fix” quite a few situations they got the poor guy into. Back then during the draft, we were serving with guys who the judge gave the option of Vietnam or jail. So you can imagine some of the things that went on
Thanks John not only for your service but for protecting the vulnerable. I served not long after Nam, and had great experiences with my southern brothers in uniform. When they befriend you, you have a friend for life!
This is one of their best episodes.
McHale has got a heart of gold. . Binghamton's heart is nothing but lead
Binghamton maybe, but I sure like Joe Flynn, funny guy.
Best ending in this series ever!!even the captain got his lead out!!
Great episode from a great comedy series.
That was hilarious.
Thanks for posting.
It would have been nice had John Wright's mother, country singer Kitty Wells, made a guest appearance on the show.
I had no idea she was his mother! It certainly would have been interesting to have her on the show.
I wish for once that Carpenter would stand up to Captain Binghampton
He did in another episode but he was drunk but really good
@@paulcaron400 that’s where the war was “ended”
This is by far the best episode
Mc HALES NAVY WAS A GREAT SHOW BACK in THE 1960s AND ERNEST Borgnine WAS A GREAT ACTOR AND JOE FLYNN AS captain Binghamton LEAD BOTTOM DROWNED in his swimming POOL AND ERNEST Borgnine AS THE SKIPPER WAS A GREAT ACTOR AND Tim CONWAY WHO WAS PARKER died in 2000AND19 AND HE WAS in THE CAROL BERNET SHOW with HARVEY CORMAN AND HE WAS A VERY FUNNY COMEDY ACTOR REST in PEACE YOU GUYS YOU ARE GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN 😔
Best episode
"Instant sick leave" great line.
Yea that’s an original line. Goona be using that 🤣
Ensign Parker gets a
Lap
Dance
This is one of the best! At the end Binghamton just cuts loose
gotta love hos even Fuji falls in when the senator is there.... probably less suspicious than suddenly running off lol
Edgar Bergen throwback: Willy's ex-girlfriend was named "Effie" & Binghamton calls Ens. Charles Parker "Mortimer Snerd". Effie, Charlie and Mortimer were the names of Bergen's dummies.
One of the nicest shows on tv
This was hilarious!
The Prelude to Beverly Hillbillies
always makes me laugh

Throughout this episode, Carl Ballantine (who played the part of lester Gruber) looked like he was really have a fun time.
Tell your draft dodger bone spurred Spanky that borgnine actually served. The US of course, not mother Russia
Gruber was a con to his heart! He was so conniving that he was actually funny!
even Fuji was a hillbilly.

brilliant
Jimmy crack corn and I don't care, Jimmy crack corn and I don't care, Jimmy crack corn and I don't care, My Masters gone asay. :-)
commander in chief pacific was actually CINCPAC, COMNICH was "commander in chief of the US Navy", since CINCUS sounded too much like "sink us".
That makes a lot more sense!
That was the best episode ever
I Watch McHale Navy In 2022
9:25 Impersonating an officer funny 😆
Love this episode having a ho down Tennessee style 🤪
Nice good guys.
I like the song

" Well hush my puppies "
TROUBLE IS THEY SAY THE RADIO MAN COMMITTED SUICIDE FOR A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP IN REAL LIFE!
Who said that?
I sware, I do enjoy these old timey shows.
They'd never get made today, because they'd offend some poor ole NPC.
I sware that's such a dumb thing to say.

No one is dumber than you.
Don Harvey, the actor who played the congressman in this episode died of a heart attack in 1963, the same year this episode aired. He was only 51.
Interesting to use a draft dodger as avatar for a McHale navy comment. Borgnine served BTW.
@@brantlambermont1657
4 more years! Better get used to it Commie.
@@wallyplumstead614 Comment didn't age well mouth breather.
I have a hard time that superstitious sailors would have an acronym pronounced "sink us".
The best
Transparent when the congressman didn't speak - kept looking at people. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
On top of binge watching this program I watched Marty today. Ernest Borgnine is far beyond better as McHale
17:00😂🎼
JACKIE BOY IS REALLY YASHIO YODA AKA FUJI.
Why do you think they call him lead bottom😅
Deus ex machina strikes again.
Who plays Cindy Bates?
I don't know but at times her voice sounds strikingly similar to the actress who played Ellie May Clampett.
Brenda Wright played Cindy Bates.

Seen this episode a dozen times, and just now realized the new nurse is Ellie Mae from The Beverly Hillbillies.
.
.
Nah. It's Brenda Wright.
@@m1t2a1it is the girl from B H. Look again.
@@stevenrussell5340 Read the credits. Interestingly The Beverly Hillbillies with Donna Douglas and McHale's Navy aired just a day apart.

Used to really love this show, till I realized it depicts them loafing, partying, gambling, and stealing military supplies and equipment, while hundreds of thousands of Americans were fighting and dying and existing in miserable warfare conditions, at a time when our very existence as a nation was at stake..
I still like it, just don't love it, these days.
this is a show and it no way portrays actual combat this show was to make us laugh
to be fair to quent and is crew of pirates they do more than loafing and partying and gamblin binghamton sends them out on plenty of combat patrols
I'm a veteran. We surely did NOT sit quietly in neat little rows between duty assignments...🤗 One of my C.O.s made it plain exactly how far we could push limits, the other was more like Lead Bottom, except the punishments were always the worst chores (not disciplinary charges). I preferred the first one to the nosey one.
@@rjonboy7608 What did you think about Black Sheep Squadron? It showed the same loafing and goofing off between missions.
It was meant to raise morale between down time on missions, this kind of stuff goes on in commands that have good leadership--- the military is not full of robots
This episode convinced my prior impression that the actor playing parker with exaggerated moronic reactions is ruining a good part of this serie. This is not a children comedy for 5-7 year old which is what this duffus should have been cast for. It's too bad as he is ruining many scenes and lowers the level of the serie as a whole. I am sure other actors got tired of him as well. On some scenes he is ok but someone should have told him to quit doing the stupid dumbwit on every scene with the captain.
its a t.v. show
hmm i thought tim conway kicked ass as ensign parker
Gee, someone should have told Tim Conway while he was alive. He only played this character for over 70 years, not like he did it for a lifetime or nothing !!!
In case u miss the sarcasm, u r a complete moron !!!
