Appreciate the step by step process here! Followed it to the T when replacing the alternator and serpentine belt on my 2010 Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi

@Alex Herrmann I know its been a while since you posted this comment but I'm having a tough time finding a video specific to the 5.7 Hemi Commanders. I have an 07 myself and need to replace the alternator (it sounds like I have a supercharger under the hood lol) The only issue I see upon first inspection is the top coolant line running to the high side of the radiator seems like it might need to come off and the AC lines are pretty tight to my alternator. I'm hoping that removing the intake and air box negates these problems and gives me enough room to complete the repair. If these steps worked for you I'm hoping its the same for me. I have two Commanders and the other one has the 4.7 V8 which is way easier and simpler to work on, so all the maintenance to my Hemi is a learning curve. I've had the 4.7 for years and I am pretty familiar with all repairs on it but just recently purchased the Hemi version. I don't like paying anyone to wrench on my vehicles, glad to hear that the procedure shown here should work on the Commander as well. ✌

Commander owner here (06 Hemi)... watching for the same reason, but only for knowledge at this point. My Jeep has 146k miles on it and I'm considering just replacing the stock alternator as it's pretty old. If you ran into anything interesting/odd while replacing your alternators, please share. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I have heard that if the battery light comes on while driving and the electrical problems occur with vehicle warmed, it is usually the alternator is going bad aka "the alternator is no good"!

Mine was still charging the battery fine but a bad bearing was causing that dreaded whine so it had to go. '07 WK 5.7 with 223K miles - I know people like to shit on Chrysler but except for wear and tear items such as this, the vehicle has been very good and required very little maintenance.

Hey I'm stuck at the tensioner step. I stuck my 3/8 socket wrench inside the square hole and turned it but it wont budge. Do I turn it like a bolt or do I pull it?

@@piky1983 get a long breaker bar, 18" or 24" and it will move easier.
