Hang in there, honey. I was stage 3c 18 years ago next month. One suggestion for monitoring is the Signatera test. Simple blood test that looks for your unique tumor dna. CA-125, which I still do every six months (every three months until Covid hit), is an inflammatory marker, I believe. This test picks cancer up at the cell level, long before a tumor could be seen on a scan. None of the tests are perfect, as you know, but the 2 together gives me confidence! Positive thoughts to you and your family.

But it is still used as the gold standard in all ovarian cell treatment. Unfortunately, the treatment has not changed over the past 10yr bc all the research money is going into breast ca instead of ovarian & especially the rare cell type cancers. I did the adjunt therapy in the hope that it might have some effect. If I relapse, I will try another chemo agent, either po or IV, immunotherapy with Avastin...

I'm so glad you are doing well! I'm sure the higher power you are feeling is the Lord God almighty!
Having faith and having so many folks lifting me up in prayer during my recent breast cancer dx, mastectomies, and chemo was amazing. I felt carried through the difficulties the entire time. This was my 3rd cancer diagnosis, and without faith, I don't know how I would have gotten through it all.

Dear Nicole, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3c at age 51, more than 5 years ago. 8 hrs surgery, several organs removed, followed by 6 cycles chemo with taxol and carboplatin and 2 years on 600 mg Lynparza per day. I am in remission, meanwhile 4.5 years after chemotherapy. I get a CT scan once a year, CA125 and CRP done twice a year. Still psychologically quite challenged after the experience, and overweight, knowing I should lose weight. But well, I do what I can... Normally, I don't post that much here, but I wanted to wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart and to send you a very warm hug from Vienna, Austria. H.

I am a caregiver to someone who was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and has gone through similar stages as nicole - including taking zejula (but due to high BP - stopped taking it).
Everyday is a new battle for that person. Doctors mentioned that its a treatable cancer, but not curable - thus person bring in their 70s, will be spending the rest of their life battling cancer (even though was told that its only matter of time - estimated time of 3 yrs since diagnosis in 2022).

I can't believe that with your history of Breast Cancer, that they would ignore your belly pain - if you have a BRCA 1or2 gene, then they are linked. How negligent is that!
I have Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer, and was dying when mine was finally diagnosed. I told them not to bother, but to let me go. No, they treated me, and I've gad my last chemo, & my radical hysterectomy (with Omentectomy & debulking surgery). I'm 11wks post-surgery today, and it's awful. The chemo was mostly fine, except making me anaemic regularly.
So, my GP was on 3 months vacation when my OC came to the fore, although it had exactly the year before, too - ie Christmas, hence my family & I assumed it was something I ate over Christmas both times. But looking back now, I was sick for 2, maybe 3 years. It's a blur, as I have other health issues & stresses around that time (including my mum passing away).
Anyway, I went to various fill-in doctors in my doctor's absence. I already had referrals for blood test & a urine sample (I thought I had a UTI). The 1st doctor said my belly was gurting because I "take too many medications" (ie re my multiple chronic health issues). I demanded help, so he reluctantly ordered an ultrasound.
Anyway, they found a very large Ovarian Tumour, and urged I get a CT scan. The CT scan showed up Ascites & Pleural Effusion. Then, a CA125 cancer blood test showed up as "1,586" - high! I had cancer.
With 2 wks of his holiday left, I phoned my doctor, and in 1wk, he spoke to me 3x for 45-60mins, on his own time, he was so concerned for me.
I got my Ascites (cancerous fluid in my abdomen) & Pleural Effusion (cancerous fluid in my lung lining) drained. It took awhile for that to settle.
I then started chemo, and immediately started to feel better. Chemo was kind to me. I didn't think I could cope with cancer, but I did. And the day before my surgery (which was on late Aug), my CA125 was only 16. My Oncologist calls me a "poster girl for chemo", lol.
My only big hiccup was my veins clotting up & cannulas failing - all because of chemo. I had to demand an Infuser Port in my chest - best thing, ever!
Anyway, I go to see the Oncologist on 20th Nov to see how my CA125 is now, and to discuss my "Targeted Maintenance Therapy" (2yrs of 1x tablet daily). I won't get another CT scan until early next year.
Oh, and I've not got BRCA 1&2. My tumour was tested as "HRD" (environmental).
I'm still recovering from the hysterectomy, and have had many setbacks, including a bad UTI. I'll be glad when the swelling goes done & the scar isn't as fresh (this so sensitive).
All the best with your cancer. God bless ❤

Yes, you ate so right!! It's the Lord God Almighty who has blessed you with your healing. He has a purpose and a plan for your life that's why you are still here! Hallelujah! Glory to God!! Prayers for continued strength, healing and love in Jesus name🙌🙏🩷!! I am a recent breast cancer survivor and so grateful to the Lord for answered prayers. I asked Him to let it be known if there was anything they needed to find on my mammogram and ultrasound let it be brought into the light and He did exactly that because my cancer was in such a hard to find place they could barely find it but thank God the ultrasound lady kept moving the wand over and over and over and it was found!! Thank You Jesus!!

Everyone has cancer. It is not dangerous unless you want to die. Depression literally causes the immune system to shut down allowing the disease to proliferate.
