It is outrageous that no medical professional you saw ever suggested you have something as basic as a mammogram - AND a breast ultrasound - especially once the “cyst” grew. I am furious. At the time you first found the mass, young women were being diagnosed with breast cancers at a higher rate than in previous decades. As you said, had your doctor removed the mass immediately, your cancer might even have been caught when it was only DCIS. What a gross medical mistake those doctors made. It’s unconscionable.
I hope your treatments eradicate the cancer entirely. I wish you and your family many decades of happiness.

My sister would have sued my first doctor had I died.) However, it might be worth making a formal complaint to the medical board in her state. I know it won’t make it better, but you and your family should become quite wealthy from this medical malpractice. At very least, you should never have to pay for another medical bill with them. This angers me because they didn’t pay attention to you. I went in with a 16cm tumor and they paid attention to me because I was 59. This BS that young women don’t get breast cancer is ridiculous. When I was going through treatment, we had a 50/50 mix of women who were young and post-menopausal. The rapid increase of young women being diagnosed is scary.

I agree. People can win lawsuits for stupid things that are their own fault, yet all they will say is radiologist or not obligated to give a definitive answer. And then they will say if something shows a low percentage, cancer risk, that’s not violating any guidelines . So the best solution is to change these instead of certain women being told they have to get an ultrasound every six months for two years in addition to a yearly mammogram, they need to shorten it to one follow up, which means one year from a time lump is discovered at most. I’m pretty sure there’s a sizable difference between a cancer that is, caught with one year of development, instead of the two they require for birads 3which basically means probably benign, but they can’t guarantee it. I really wish they’d stop terrifying people about cancer and getting mammograms when women are starting to find out from other women that a mammogram and even an ultrasound cannot give a definite answer. If someone has a lump and they cannot say it’s benign, they need to bump it to a birads 4 until proven otherwise. disgusting

I can tell you, that when a breast cyst is suspected, your doctor should tell you to keep watch on it, and if it doesn't go away when you menstruate, call to make an appointment for a biopsy. For a doctor to simply say, "It's a cyst, don't worry about it," is malpractice.

It really sucks that this happened to you and every Dr should be totally ashamed of their treatment or lack there of. We have to advocate for our care and push and push. So many people have been diagnosed with various cancers in the last 4 years. I am a breast cancer survivor and just celebrated 10 yrs of remission. My prayers are with you and your family. I had stage 2, double mastectomy and various recurrences so they considered me stage 4, but the hormone blocker really saved my life. Losing my hair was easier than when it was growing back in. Only 1 chemo treatment of the red devil will take your hair. I lost all body hair which was so great to not have to shave. I didn’t lose my eyelashes or eyebrows. It took forever to be able to use metal utensils because of everything tastes like metal.

Is there anything else you can go on like immunotherapy? He was too far along they said to have surgery and so he hasn’t had any. Can they give you estrogen blockers instead of surgery like tomoxifen? My mom was on that for breast cancer years ago and she is still alive. Wheatgrass juice is supposed to help kill cancer and gets stronger if you wait a couple hours after it’s juiced or you can buy it frozen online. Thank you for doing the video. Doctors need to take concerns more seriously. And patients need to advocate for themselves, switch doctors or pay for the tests themselves. I hope the best for you and your family. ❤

I called my doctor the next morning and pretty much demanded a biopsy so he did it while continuing to say it didn’t look like Melanoma 😡it came back stage 2( they grade them differently now) and confirmed by the Mayo Clinic, I had surgery and promptly fired my primary doctor, since then I’ve adamantly stood up to doctors, ( doesn’t always mean they will change anything, if they don’t I see a different doctor) in my early 30’s my left breast started leaking fluid ( my son had been bottle fed) I literally went from doctor to doctor being gaslit because of my age when finally after 2 years of going to different doctors I went to an old surgeon with an excellent reputation who did NO TESTS and looked at me and said “ it’s one of 2 things, either Paget’s disease or a papilloma and he said I’m taking you to surgery Friday and finding out which one it is, he was 100% correct it was a papilloma in the milk ducts and he removed the ductwork and said it had not yet turned malignant but would have if left much longer, I will be 68 this year and still have to fight doctors to get appropriate care ( just fired my primary PA last month and found a new doctor, at my new doctor appointment I asked her some medical questions/ scenarios and asked her what she would do in those situations, by her answers I believe she is knowledgeable, caring and competent, BTW I am a retired nurse, fight for your care and don’t worry about what the doctor thinks! I am more sorry than I can ever say for the ordeal you have had to go through. It didn't have to happen. You tried and were not listened to by doctors you had been expected to trust.
As women, many of us were brought up that doctors are some kind of special people. We have got to get over that ridiculous untruth to save our lives. There is NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT DOCTORS. They are just people trained in a different field. So get up in their faces and very, very firmly tell them to do the damn tests needed. Tell them that NO is not an acceptable answer. For doctors, patients are just a revolving door to make more money. I refuse to take any crap from them. I have lost too many family members that I loved because they were afraid to stand up to doctors. There are a few decent doctors in this world, but most are not. Actually, I have more respect for airline pilots than doctors. They have to go through more training and care for their passengers.

I think se is in Canada... here with our 'free' healthcare we are turned down quite often for symptoms that are looked as 'unspecific' according to 'evidence-based' medicine...

I never comment ever. Sorry to hear what happened. You are in my prayer.
I work in healthcare and I just want to add to everyone comment that when you go to the doctor please please provide all the family history that you know, it is very important. Mom’s ovarian cancer and BRCA gene plus aunt breast cancer history once added to the chart would have put you on a higher risk even if they thought it was a cyst. They would have likely send you to do MRI and biopsy earlier due being high risk. I just want to educate the viewers on the importance to advocate for yourself and provide everything you can think of family history. Health care provider are trained to filter which information is useful in that particular situation. Let them dissect the information, you just provide them all the informations you can think of.
    Peace and love to all

Doctors are humans & are not perfect. When you know your own body you have to be your own advocate. One, alas, is never too young! God Bless.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
    perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be
    saved.John 3:16-17
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:Acts 17:30
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.Luke 13:3
Jesus died for you on Calvary’s cross and rose again to offer you a pardon for all your sins. If you turn to Him in faith, you will know the forgiveness of your sins and have the assurance of
    eternal life.
Jesus said, “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.Revelation 21:4
Praying without ceasing for you, your family and friends Kate, much love from Northern Ireland!🙏♥♥🙏
