What an insane story. This woman was robbed of her youth, her family shattered. My heart broke💔 I’m so glad she survived.

What is even more scary to me (besides the obvious!) in these WOMEN'S stories, is that MULTIPLE doctors dismiss/gaslight/laugh at female patients and it DOES rob life, quality of life, Trust and self esteem... It just makes me so sad we're going through these things just trying to regain our health and lives!!
    ❤❤❤ to you!

It is unforgivable what they put you through. If only they had listened from the very beginning.

I've been gaslighted by doctors in Australia for years about my worsening symptoms. Am having more tests done in late January. I had to wait for months to get in to see a specialist and have had to wait more weeks over the Christmas holidays with worsening symptoms still not knowing what's wrong. All of the doctors seem to go on holidays at the same time and the operating theatres are closed for my procedure. I'm getting sicker and sicker and it's been hell so I can relate but so far I've not gone through anything as bad as you have.

This should be a message to all parents:
Believe your children over what the doctors say. For 99% of doctors, your children are just there to make money off of, not try to get to the root of the physical problem. Doctors go for the easiest and usually wrong answer. Parents need to advocate for their children. We as a society need to get over thinking doctors are anything special.
CNN reported that 22% of patients in hospitals are misdiagnosed and may die. All the expensive equipment and tests available in hospitals and doctors still manage to screw up. I am 69 years old, and the doctors today are pathetic. The doctors from my childhood cared more about patients than making tons of money.

How does someone suffer 6 years with cancer and go undiagnosed?!! And doctors get upset when we question them 🙄 thank God for that one doctor in the ER. They saved her life!

When are doctors going to realize that age doesn’t mean you don’t have cancer.

I love the photos of you and your boyfriend. As you said, having a feeling of community is essential to the well-being of many or most people, no matter the culture. I'm learning that now, in my old age, when the worst thing that has happened to me is the severe brain injury of my partner, after our forty-seven years together. His injury and the sudden disruption of our lives are worse than my early-stage breast cancer of twenty-five years ago.
I wish you no more cancer and lots more love, good health and fulfillment as you grow older.

Glad seeing you made it through. Some people get many scans and still hadnt seen what should be seen. The teeth is a strong point. How sick the pros can be shown. Shame they have degrees for the wrong profession

Three things went against you: your age, your gender and a mental health history! I am so sorry you went through this horror! I went through a similar situation with the gaslighting, and it took 2 years of perseverance to get a proper diagnosis!

If community is so important, what do autistic people do? Community is the hardest issue for me.

I agree, especially communicating if new symptoms scare me. I deal with neuroendocrine cancer of the pancreas and have some years of symptoms that were NET Related but dismissed for so many years. Now a new symptom plagues me, where no specialist wants to see a connection, but others with similar diagnoses tell me, they have the same issues.

It’s amazing how doctors can wilfully not want to see symptoms,I remember being told my swollen glands were an ‘extension of your neck’,turned out I’d had severe glandular fever for months!

Going through this horrible disease so young, you definitely find out who your true friends are. This isn’t like having a flu, and you’re better. You have to work fun activities, etc around your health issues. Just remember nice lady, you’re definitely not alone. 😊❤️🇨🇦
