Luka may be the most dominant offensive player ever seen. That sounds crazy but at a certain point you have to take into consideration Luka makes every kind of shot there is from anywhere on the floor. Post, 3's, midrange, fade aways, step backs, jab steps, facing the basket, back to the basket, his bag is DEEP.
Plus he averages 34,9,8 which is crazy no one has ever done that and he’s arguably top 2 playmaker in league and top 2 scorer

I'll tell you this, Embiid doesn't not have the deep bag that Luka has, Luka can score from anywhere, in any manner or method you choose, Embiid takes some mid-range jumpers but mostly scores layups, dunks, and shoots FT's all night. As far as offensive skill, Luka is on another level.

As a lifelong Mavs fan I have to say, Jokic does all of that as well. And he has the Hardware to prove it. BUT Luka has all the tools (and counting stats) to get by Jokic at some time. It all depends on MVP's and Titles.

The geographic ignorance, and the blending and confusion that a lot of Americans have with origin, nationality & race, never ceases to amaze me. Jokic is a better offensive player than Luka, and Jokic has some achievements due to it as well. Plus, Jokic has meshed with all of the Nuggets, while it's a question mark how much of a dent it is on Luka's game, that he can't mesh with many players.

Jokic doesn't have anything to prove regarding meshing. His teammates have all been injured for entire seasons, and they still haven't even ended up in the play-in. The Mavs missed the play-in last season. Sure, the Nuggets are a better team overall, and Kyrie as another ball-handler doesn't fit Luka's play-style.
I'm saying Luka might be worth all the hype. But I want to see at least a finals appearance soon, until I'm certain he's all that.

The All-White team would be pretty sick...it might not be deep but it's got some ballers. Nash, Luka, Bird, Dirk, Joker with Peja, Stockton, McHale, Pistol Pete, Kerr, Vlade, Walton & West coming off the bench. That starting 5 is just stupid good. Every one of them are deadly shooters and you got 4 dudes who could come up with a triple-double on any given night. The bench ain't too bad either.
The thing about Wemby is he's going to be making all-nba AND all-defensive teams. He's going to be the nost versatile player in the league. There really isnt anything he can't do. The only other two-way phenom in the league making both thosw teams is Giannis, and if Wemby keeps improving like he has been then he might be the best player in the league before his rookie contract is up

The difference is, Luka played with a bunch of nobody's on his team. Now that he has some depth, this team will excel. I'm hoping the injuries stay away for the rest of the season. With that said, I think the mavs have the right pieces to get the job done now.
Context matters in these situations, Mavs were a nothing team. Then they got a generation player and they barely built around him. Mavs just hoped Luka would carry them all the way by himself but it's impossible. Players like Giannis and Jokic played in teams where that had all star players. It's was only since Irving came that Luka trully had a world class player. I mean things have changed in the past week of course he's got some excellent help. Can you imagine the way that Luka can give players clean look 3s and Mavs actually had a couple players that could hit them at a high percentage rather than just relying on himself? Mavs would've been in a totally different situation which would've made Luka look even better. But ultimatley, Luka has had the whole organisation on his shoulders and his shoulders only.
Jokic won the MVP, when Murray and MJP were injured the whole season. And Jokic dragged them to 6th seed. Luka didn't make the play-in with Kyrie.

The biggest issue with wemby is who is his PG? Luka is the PG/PF/SG with his crazy skill set. Wemby will be that guy in a couple years especially with (trae most likely imo) a actual PG. Wemby will consistently go 25/10/3 with 2-3 bpg.
I'm a Luka fan and I believe he has a good chance to finish as the best European basketball player ever to play when his basketball career ends, but he isn't currently that.
If we are talking strictly European NBA players, in alphabetical order (since I don't want to rank them right now), here are at least 3 players he would have to pass:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Nikola Jokić
Dirk Nowitzki
With 2 of those players still being in the league and still being great, it won't be easy, but it is definitely doable if he has that desire. If he plays long enough (A big if considering he has multiple times stated that he doesn't want to), I believe he can finish as the best European basketball player ever, but as far as NBA resumes go, he still has a long way to go.
Pau deserves some credit and mention
Luka is leading the league in points and averaging 8 points more than Jokic and more assists at the same time. Now they they have a big they won 6 in a row so he will actually have to be considered this year. His defense is much better than it was, 7th in steals. It’s not elite by any means but given where he started it’s leaps and bounds better.
Sabonis SR, Jokic, Bird, Dirk, Luka would easily be a finals team. Them boys can all shoot, understand spacing, and have a high offensive IQ. That would be the best shooting team ever assembled.

Luka has been good enough individually to win an MVP for several seasons in a row, but they held him back because of his team's record. I think Luka, Jokic, and Giannis are on a tier by themselves (with Embiid out), and you can take your pick as to which you think is best.
