Rudy is singled out in the media and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Utah had to overpay its players to keep them. Rudy provided a value to the team and he was paid for it. He was never asked to be an offensive weapon in Utah and will never be asked to be so in Minnesota either. He doesn't do anything to anyone to warrant the disrespect that he receives.

This why if we're being honest, it's easy to attach some jealousy or disrespect to Shaq's comment as great as he is. I'm not a Rudy fan, but I would expect that ex-ballers should be able to recognize where Utah was defensively before Rudy gor there, what they were while he was there and what became of them after he left. Also look at what the Timberwolves were before he got there and what they have become as he got there. The fact that he doesn't do what he does the way some people want him to do it, doesn't mean he's not effective. No one would've given Timberwolves a finals appearance when they traded for Rudy and it's not his fault that the negotiations were the way they were. Let me end with this what Luka did to Gobert, Luka would've done that to almost every defender in that situation in that little time. Give the man his respect for what he has accomplished. He has deserved it.
