  • Anyone can come and visit the Native American territories of USA. This is getting a shave outside in Crow Reservation, just south of Billings, Montana.
I am exploring the Native American reservation of the Crow tribe in Montana. I found Miriam, with the just about smallest barbershop building ever -- and fell in love with it. My beard trim was only $5, and she fixed me up nicely.
Video is here: • $5 BEARD TRIM "Cuts Th...
But, today she set me up with her brother, who is a barber in Billings Montana.
We found a spot in the grass, in the main town of Crow Nation reservation, right on the campgrounds of the annual Crow Fair in Crow Agency. This is a huge festival that takes place each year in August to celebrate their culture. Crow pride! All are welcome for this sacred gathering.
Daniel made this barber experience especially for me, which I am grateful for. Normally, you will either find him preaching the gospel in church on Sunday mornings, or working in Yurick's Barbershop in Billings. Barbershop Haircuts are $15.

Really enjoyed this video; great to hear the gentle voice of a Godly Native man share his experiences and life story; would be great to check out the Crow agency fair if it weren't so far from where my wife and I live. I was disappointed, though when the video was edited at 19:39 and his story concerning his dad was cut out; he was telling a story about what happened, and was just cut out of the video. I wanted to hear the rest of what happened. Why cut out what was perhaps the most important thing that happened to Daniel, about how the Creator Jesus touched his life? That needed to be heard. When you tell a story (this one true), you don't just cut it off when the most important part is about to be told. Would be nice to include all the story. But it is great to see Native people loving Jesus as Native people, not trying to be white. No ethnicity or race has a corner on God. Whoever will call upon the Lord will be saved. No exceptions.

Jesse Hess , (from where it was cut off) here is the complete testimony I shared concerning my father .
After this particular terrible night my dad was having, his breathing was labored, his arm was aching horribly, and was just depleted from dialysis. After helping him to bed I had to position him with pillows so as to not further inflame his already broken arm, (2 inches below his shoulder was the break)... I was angry, and questioned God to why His servant had to suffer so much! I went to bed in not the best attitude.. my routine was to wake up now and then through the night and quietly check on my dad if his light was on . I awoke around 1:30 in the morning, and seen the light on. I moved with a bit more urgency this time because of the way we had to situate him in his bed. So I ever so quietly crept across the hallway and peeked through the cracked doorway, (I always kept his door cracked open a sliver) and what I saw from that darkened hallway will never leave me. My dad through all of his pain, through all of the discomfort, through all of the obstacles of his body that was literally breaking down, was able to somehow reposition the pillows under his left side, then pull the side table closer to his bedside. He had his Bible open resting on the table, and was simply reading...praise the Lord. As I stood out in that hallway witnessing his faith in action, and not really sure for how long I was mesmerized, I felt such a moment of love and conviction, the absolute reality of who my father was serving was so infused within me! My dad could have verbally preached to me until he was blue in the face, but the most powerful and effective sermon he ever preached to me was spoken through his living... the simple act of my father reading his Bible absolutely impacted my life! Now I minister and teach the Word of God. The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever...

It is a huge problem in Canada. Many native women leave small communities and go to the large cities and disappear. There are numerous reasons for it. Poverty, unemployment, substance abuse but the key reason is exploitation. It is Canada's dirty little secret that right from its early colonial period native women have been exploited. Fur traders often had relationships with numerous native women and cast them away when they returned to the settlements. The Metis nation is often referred to as the orphans of the plains. They were abandoned by their European fathers many of whom had families in the east or in Europe. This sexual exploitatation continues today. Human traffickers, gangs and other criminal organizations continue to exploit this vulnerable segment. Canada is often seen as a great country but it has a dark side as well.

The most sad about this, is that the US Government have the Native population segregated in Native reservations. In Mexico, and Latin American pure Natives coexists between Whites, Blacks, Mestizos and other Castes groups. Mestizos are a mixed race between Natives and Spaniards and they make up the entire population in Latin America. While some Natives in the Andes and Amazon live far apart away from population. What pisses me off that the USA population of Natives is 2% compare to those in Mexico at 62%. Seems that Anglos Americans and Brits mistreated Natives way worst then the Spanish and Portuguese ever did. So the Spanish Black Legend was real after all.
