I hadn't seen an update on Angel since last year so I decided to take a trip to Google. Looks like he's still doing really good, and as of late November 2023, actually went to Washington DC (first time ever for him) and got the President's Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation for his work on preserving Rte 66. It's only the fourth time EVER that award had been given.

He is doing wonderful and enjoying his time off.. he will be 94 years old in few days.. she is a sweet woman. Glad I met her.

I lost count how many times I have watched this video. Anytime I am stressed or frustrated with the world then I watch it. Seems like people go to him and the world ceases to exist. He's a positive person and it shows. His generation really understood suffering especially as kids.
It truly is. The only issue is barbers now days aren’t very good or consistent. You get a real barber that knows what he’s doing, the feeling from this shave is just amazing.
actualy those fancy boutiques are all the same. some unskilled barbers doing pre shave, shave massage but when they take the razor in the hand they cant do shit. something is acting to be a barber and something is to actualy know how to handle a strait razor.

It warms my heart to see an elder generation of Hispanic and Latino Americans who came to this country to start anew. A generation who brought with them skills of a trade and the craftsmanship of master artisans who made their mark by being allowed to flourish with their respective art forms.
Wow. Loved how after so many decades, this man does his job with such pride and love and care. Today, we live hustling all the time, looking to make more and more money, rarely sticking to the same job. I've had 12 jobs by now, each subsequently better than the one before. This man lived in a time when America was truly great. And you could choose to do the same thing for decades on end, and keep your family comfortable. Last time someone could pay off college with a part time job, was 1978. Loved this video. Very nice to see this man do what he loves. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Some of the older barbers still charge the 12 dollars for a cut and shave. But it's sad that some people don't understand that inflation affects everyone and now people think 20 or 30 dollars for a cut is too much but when you have a barber that values his work and gives you the value, it's worth well the price.

Whenever I would go to PA to visit my grandparents, there was guy, Henry, I think his name was, that had a small, hole in the wall barbershop, working at the same place for about 70 years. I was about 7 or 8 years old when my grandpa first went there and he was one of the friendliest, coolest guys I've ever met. Since then, about every time I was there, my grandpa and I would go and get our haircut there whether we needed it or not, which was funny, because my grandpa was about 3/4 bald and he would always joke about his "13 hairs" he needed to get trimmed. The world needs more people like these men, God bless their souls.

Used to always talk about things that happened to him when he was starting out, he would tell you the same old stories the same old way and exactly the same lessons just to make sure you remember. It almost makes you believe they could not even think about their job and still do it perfectly, even blindfolded.
My master has been on the other side for a few years now but I always remember how he used to be, I swear sometimes I can feel him standing next to me watching like a hawk and ready to give you slap behind the ear with a comb.
Respect your elders people, they're the ones who got you there.
Sounds like your master was a good man. You were lucky to have him as a mentor instead of someone who wasn't passionate about their craft.
That last sentence, man.. MAD respect. You AND the one who taught you.
I'm a truck driver by trade. I totally get it. I train new drivers from time to time. Out of the five I've trained only one is still in it. To learn a trade one needs to love to learn the trade.

It truly is. The only issue is barbers now days aren’t very good or consistent. You get a real barber that knows what he’s doing, the feeling from this shave is just amazing.

You can keep your fancy, high-end boutiques. I'll take this kind of shave over them any day.
Not_at_all_argumentative stfu
ChrisMasterGTAS What's your problem?
actualy those fancy boutiques are all the same. some unskilled barbers doing pre shave, shave massage but when they take the razor in the hand they cant do shit. something is acting to be a barber and something is to actualy know how to handle a strait razor.
gpb lies. They are all trained in their craft.
A F but can they master that craft?
Video turned 7 years now. I remember watching this video when it first came out. Time goes by so fast.
I have tears of joy in my eyes. This man is absolutely great. A master of his craft, and an extremely pleasant person. When he asked if he was washing good behind the ears I had to laugh out loud... Were you ever shaved by a REAL Barber? I really hope that this great man still lives and continues to swing his razor blade. I wish we had such a barber in Germany !!!

Keep in mind, hes Infront of a camera

That man is no barber. He is an artiste!
