Hi great video just checking my slave cylinder is being replaced as it’s leaking car still within 7 year warranty & im checking if the slave cylinder would be covered in warranty. I know the clutch itself is not supposed to be covered. Thanks
Hello. KIA / Hyundai have made many cars with few defects. And provides long guarantees. My car was out of warranty when I bought it (it has now been sold), mine expired due to mileage. I am unsure how the warranty rules are perceived in different countries. But here in Norway, in theory, things that are intended to live out the warranty period should be covered by the warranty. While wearing parts, as you say ( clurts, brakes, etc. ), are not covered by the warranty. I would file a warranty claim on the master cylinder! But how they choose to interpret it is not entirely certain! Greeting Paul ( Pål )

Thank you very much for the feedback. Although English is not "my" language, I see that Norwegian would be much more difficult for so many more. Since I've been enjoying finding information on RUclips myself, I try as best I can and create the videos in English. I could of course also want to make videos in other languages, but unfortunately it is too difficult to learn more languages when starting to grow up. Good to hear that I'm helping someone out there! If a video only helps one person, then it has made a difference for that one!
@@manuelenrique6146 The plan for 2020 was to come up with many new videos from car meetings in Norway. But then came Corona ...... So I have to try to do more with my car projects, and help some friends too. The plan is to try to get 2 new videos a week!
Hi, great video, could you explain in a wee bit more detail how hou blead the system after you changed the slave cylinder please? I have changed mine over to a new cylinder but the clutch pedal now sits on the floor and does not press back against my foot.
Hello. You have to bleed the clutch, like you bleed the brakes. When parts of the system have been replaced, there is air in parts of the system. You have to get this air out. Then it is best if there are 2 people. One must push in the pedal, and one must open the bleed screw on the slave cylinder at the bottom of the engine. Man must open the screw when the pedal is pressed down, and hold it down!!! Then you turn the screw again, and pump the pedal several times. Then you have to repeat the same thing, as many times as you need it, until you get out the brake bag every time you open the bleeder screw. If you don't hold down the pedal when you unscrew the screw, air can be drawn into the system. The purpose is to pump out the air from the system. When you have let the air out, you will get resistance on the pedal again. Air is compressed, while the brake bag in the system is NOT compressed :) Hope that helps a little! Greeting Pål (Paul)
Thank you very much for the message! It's good to know that you can help someone out there. I myself have found so much good info on RUclips, that this is a way to give back! Good luck with the car!
Hi I have not come across that car myself. But it will be strange if there is such a big difference from the Ceed to the RIO model!? I would look down about the same space as on the Ceed, in the engine compartment. If you are unsure, have someone step in the chlurt while you look at the unit under the engine. The piston must then move a lever on the gearbox. Regards Pål (Paul)
Hey, I see you say on 7:40 there is no delay. I have the same problem and the solving is that you make a pin longer then the standard pin thats given with the new cilinder. Start with 1.5cm more and see wath its doing => then you have the delay
You must take the pin out of the pump en then you take similar pin thats is longer or you can order a sleeve clutch pin that is adjustable. My pin is 1cm longer and i drive already like 60000km's with the longer pin but i shall make a new one that i can adjust in the summer. Be carefully when you do that because you can damaged you pump.
I have the same model, JDII SW with a 1.6CDRI, and the clutch pedal is incredibly heavy, and you have to depress the clutch completely for smooth gear changes. It only has 85000km on the ODO but is an absolute nightmare to drive in traffic with such a heavy clutch. I think the hydraulic fluid is shared with the brakes? Anyways I checked, no leaks or low level. Could it be a bad slave cylinder?
Hello. It could be the slave cylinder. You can see it in the engine room. Try having someone step on the pedal while watching the movement of the slave cylinder. Does it move with full swing, or is there a poor reaction to it? Also see if it gives way when it has been stepped on for a few seconds. Greeting Pål (Paul)
@@bildillamagasin Thanks for your quick reply. Will definately check it out. Could also be the master cylinder from what I see. I don't think it's the pressure plate as the clutch itself grips very well.
Thank u for making this video in English! It helps alot!
Thanks
I try my best, in my Norwegian/English :)
Good to be able to help!
